Chapter 284: Another Monster Bows Before Her!
Liora ventured deeper into the forest, her eyes sharp, scanning for anything truly powerful.
She rode atop her beast, Leon, the Silver Flame Lion, moving through the dense terrain with ease.
But despite going deeper, she was frowning. "Tch… nothing but weaklings."
She had already encountered multiple A-Rank beasts, but Leon killed them effortlessly.
Even the S-Rank beasts she had run into weren't enough—Leon only needed a bit of extra power to take them down.
Liora exhaled, her eyes narrowing. "At least I got some beast materials."
She glanced at the pile of corpses she had collected—materials that would be absorbed to fuel Lucius's energy later.
But still—none of these creatures were worth capturing.
Just as she was about to move deeper, her instincts flared.
A strange presence.
Before she could fully react, a massive shadow moved from the trees—
A black and crimson-furred wolf lunged at them.
Liora's eyes widened slightly as she instantly dodged, flipping off Leon's back and landing gracefully a few meters away.
"Hmph. Sneaky little thing."
She watched as the massive wolf clashed with Leon, their bodies crashing into the ground.
Leon let out a thunderous roar, his silver flames igniting as he swiped at the beast.
But then—something happened. The black wolf sank its fangs into Leon's shoulder.
Liora's eyes narrowed. At first, it seemed like a normal attack—but then… Leon staggered.
His flames flickered—his movements suddenly slowed. His power weakened.
Liora frowned deeply as she watched her beast struggle for the first time.

"What the hell…?"
Leon shook his head, confusion clouding his usually sharp instincts.
Liora's frown turned into a smirk. "Finally."
She cracked her knuckles. "I finally found a worthy beast."
The hunt had truly begun.
Liora turned toward Leon, who struggled against the wolf's venomous bite. "Leon! Get over here! We're fusing!"
Leon growled lowly, shaking off his confusion before immediately rushing to her side.
The moment he reached her, his silver flames flared, and their bodies merged seamlessly in an instant.
Silver flames engulfed her as she transformed into a lion-beastwoman.
But the black wolf wasn't intimidated.
It simply growled, then melted back into the shadows—vanishing completely.
Liora's smirk widened. "Oh? So, you can fuse with darkness?"
Her eyes gleamed with amusement. "Well, guess what? I know how to handle that."
She lifted her arms, flames crackling across her body. Then—
"RAAAAAAAGH!"
Her roar exploded outward, and from her body, a brilliant silver fire burst, radiating outward in all directions.
The venom that had weakened Leon earlier? Burned away instantly.
The shadows that the wolf was hiding in? Lit up like a sun.
The forest floor ignited in waves of light, pushing back the consuming darkness.
And there it was.
The black wolf, momentarily blinded, its dark camouflage stripped away by the overwhelming light.
Liora smirked, her silver flames still burning fiercely. "Found you."
She lunged.
The wolf barely had time to react, still staggered from the sudden brightness, its instincts thrown off by the unexpected erasure of its cover.
But it was too late. Liora was already at its side.
CRACK!
Her clawed fist connected, slamming into the wolf's ribs, sending it crashing into a tree.
The beast growled in pain, but Liora only grinned wider.
Her flames flared, her claws twitching with excitement. "Come on. That's not enough. I want more."
The black wolf, still recovering from her attack, lifted its head.
For the first time, it seemed to frown, as if realizing Liora wasn't an ordinary opponent.
Then—it locked eyes with her, making Liora froze.
A strange sensation crept over her body. Her limbs suddenly felt heavy, her movements restricted.
"Tch. What…?"
Then, the hallucinations came.
Flashes of images filled her mind—visions of her fears, her failures, her worst memories.
She saw herself powerless, weak, defeated. She saw Lucius disappointed in her.
She saw Leon torn apart. She saw herself losing. For a moment, her breath hitched.
"Pfft."
A small chuckle escaped her lips. Then another. "HAHAHAHA!"
She burst out laughing. Her silver flames ignited, raging even brighter, burning through the illusions.
The hallucinations shattered, the weight in her body vanishing instantly.
Liora grinned wickedly, taking a step forward. "You thought you could make me fall into an illusion? You wish."
The wolf tensed, startled by her resilience.
Liora smirked, her claws burning. "That trick might work on someone weak."
She dashed forward. "But I don't fear anything."
The wolf tried to dodge, but Liora was too fast.
"Too slow!"
BOOM!
She slammed her fist into its ribs again, sending it skidding across the forest floor, leaving a trail of broken trees and dirt.
The wolf let out a pained growl, struggling to stand.
It still had powerful abilities—but its body was weak.
Liora rolled her shoulders, smirking. "You've got strength, but you can't take a hit, huh?"
She licked her lips, her battle instincts burning. "Then let's see how much more you can handle before you break."
The wolf lunged, moving faster than before, its claws infused with darkness, aiming straight for Liora's neck.
But—
"Too slow!"
Liora dodged effortlessly, shifting her body at the last second before grabbing its front leg mid-air.
With a sharp twist—
CRACK!
The wolf let out a pained snarl as its leg bent unnaturally.
Liora didn't stop. She slammed her knee into its chest, sending it flying backward, rolling through the dirt.
But the wolf wasn't done.
Even with its broken leg, it forced itself up, darkness swirling around it as it prepared another attack.
Liora grinned wider. "That's it. Keep going. Let's see how long you can last."
The wolf howled, going back to the darkness to become invisible.
The wolf then reappeared direcly behind Liora, its claws wrapped in dark energy, slashing toward her back.
Liora tilted her head slightly, grinning. "Trying to sneak up on me? Cute."
At the last second, she spun, raising her flaming forearm to meet the attack.
CLASH!
The impact shook the ground, silver fire clashing against darkness.
The wolf realized Liora was too strong, trying to retreat—
Too late.
Liora appeared in front of it instantly, claws raised—
"Game over."
SLASH!
A clean strike across its chest sent the wolf crashing down, its body trembling as it struggled to move.
It growled weakly, but the fight was over.
Liora stood above it, smirking in victory.
"Finally admitting defeat?"
The wolf whimpered, lowering its head in surrender.
Liora grinned. "Good. That means you belong to me now."
The hunt was over.
The first SS-Rank beast of the Luxoria Pet Shop had been caught or so it seemed.
What do you think?
