Chapter 317 317: Skyfang Ravine
In his office, Varen was reading the reply that was posted by Lord L.
The words played over and over in his mind:
"Try not to disappear from the industry."
His hands shook with rage.
"DAMN YOU, LORD L!"
He slammed his fist onto his table, shattering the corner.
One of the nearby guards flinched, hesitating before stepping back.
"VALLOS!"
Within seconds, Vallos appeared with a grim expression.
"Yes, Director."
Varen pointed a shaking finger toward him.
"Go. Contact the strongest beast tamer you can find—anyone!"
"I don't care what it costs. I want the best. I want a beast that will wipe Luxoria Castle off the map."
Vallos bowed his head slightly.
"Understood, sir. I'll begin the search immediately."
Varen's voice was sharp and venomous.
"Luxoria… you dared to humiliate me in my own house."
He stared into the distance.
"You will pay for crossing me. I swear it."
Vallos turned, clenching his own fist as he walked away.
"That silver-haired girl... she embarrassed me in front of everyone."
He muttered under his breath, "Stupid girl… next time, I'll be ready. I'll break you myself."
The storm brewing inside Beast Castle was rising.
And vengeance was on its way.
---
Liora soared high above the forest, constantly scanning for movement below.
"Tch… finding another SS-Rank beast is harder than I thought."
She glanced down at her phone, checking the map loaded onto her phone.
"I've already scouted the western forest, the obsidian hills, and the crater basin..."
Nothing.
Not even a proper S-Rank challenge.
She sighed—until something caught her eye.
A specific region blinking red on her screen.
"Skyfang Ravine…?"
Her lips curled into a grin.
She tapped into the info logs, reading aloud to herself as she flew.
"An ancient aerial beast territory."
"Known for its massive vertical air tunnels, hidden caves, and razor-thin ledges."
Her eyes lit up with interest.
"Winds here are so violent they can shear through planes like butter…"
She looked up from her screen and narrowed her eyes at the jagged ridge in the distance.
It was shrouded by dense fog and whirling air currents.
"A forbidden zone filled with untamed flying beasts..."
She smirked, her grip tightening slightly.
"Now that… sounds like a good place to hunt."
With a burst of speed, the jetpack roared, and Liora dove straight toward the deadly winds of Skyfang Ravine—
Where only the strongest flying beasts dared to rule the skies.
---
The wind howled louder as Liora approached the ravine.
She hovered just above the entrance, letting the air currents slam into her.
With Leon protecting him, the air currents felt like breeze to her.
She checked the scanner again—no readable signals. Just static.
"No tracking, no energy pings… even satellites avoid this place."
Then something flickered.
Not on the radar—but in her instincts.
A gust slammed into her from the side.
She didn't flinch.
Instead, she told Leon to transform back into her clothes.
She then let herself drop, free-falling into the vertical chasm.
Wings. Somewhere below. She didn't see them, but she felt them.
A predator was watching.
She smirked. "Good."
Leon then transformed into wings, helping her to descend slowly.
The moment she arrived on the ground, the wind shrieked past her ears like a living thing.
She crouched, steadying herself.
Silence followed. Then—one deep beat of wings.
She turned sharply. Nothing.
But the wind changed direction.
Something massive had moved.
Liora grinned and rolled her shoulders.
"Come on. Show me what made this place your kingdom."
A screech echoed through the canyon—long, high-pitched, almost metallic.
Her eyes locked onto the darkness across the ravine.
Movement. A shadow spread from within the fog, wings dragging across the cliff walls.
She didn't wait.
She launched herself forward, leaping from the ledge and flew again with Leon's wings.
"Let's see if you're worth catching."
---
Liora flew through the ravine, weaving between sharp cliffs and tunnels.
The massive shadow ahead of her moved again.
It was faster this time, going up into the fog.
She grit her teeth.
"It's going up…"
Leon flapped its wings, but even at full power, she was losing ground.
Then it broke through the fog and ascended into open sky.
Liora slowed to a hover near the top ledge, eyes fixed on the enormous shape.
"…It's bigger than I thought."
She clenched her fist. Fighting something like that in open air would be a hassle.
She turned toward her wings which was Leon.
"Leon. Fuse with me."
Leon nodded and merged into her body mid-air.
Her armor reshaped around the fusion, growing sharper, lighter.
Wings of energy burst from her back.
She cracked her neck once and smirked.
"Perfect."
With a single motion, she flew upward, tearing past the sky as the ravine vanished below.
Then she saw it.
The beast was circling just above the cloudline.
Its wings stretched wider than a battleship.
It was over fifty meters across.
Its entire body was wrapped in arcs of living lightning.
Thunder pulsed from its chest with every flap, each beat sending shockwaves through the air.
"A Sky Raptor…"
Her eyes were wide with excitement.
It turned slowly, revealing a long neck lined with jagged feathers.
Her lips curled into a grin.
"Oh yeah. This is it."
She clenched her fists tightly.
"This will be the perfect second beast for our auction."
The raptor roared, thunder rolling across the sky.
And Liora shot toward it, smiling as the clouds lit up with lightning.
She then focused her eyes. "Let's scan you first, shall we?"
She used her system to see the data of the beast in front of her.

Her gaze locked onto Zephyron's golden eyes as the beast turned toward her.
