Chapter 319 319: Liora’s New Mech
Zephyron hurled the huge thunder lance from its body toward Liora.
Liora who was inside her mech, smirked.
"Bring it."
BOOM—
The lance struck the mech.
Liora crossed her arms, summoning blade shields to block it.
The first hit slammed her downward. Her mech skidded through the air.
"Not enough."
Zephyron screamed, forcing more power into the lance.
Liora's grip tightened.
"You want a storm?"
She boosted forward, jets flaring. The mech went straight into the blast.
CLANG—CRASH—
The thunder lance was blocked. Her left arm snapped backward, armor peeling. But she kept going.
Zephyron's eyes widened.
"Why won't you fall?"
Liora's voice shot back.
"Because I'm not here to lose."
The right arm shifted. Leon formed a new weapon mid-motion.
A twin-pronged breaker hammer.
She swung.
CRACK.
The hammer struck the base of the thunder lance.
BOOM—
The weapon shattered.
Fragments of pure lightning exploded across the sky.
Zephyron flinched midair, body twitching from the energy backlash.
Liora didn't stop.
She surged forward, grabbing the beast by the neck with the mech's left arm.
"You said one strike."
Zephyron's body tensed.
Liora pulled back her hammer.
"This is mine now."
SLAM—
She crashed the weapon into its chest.
Lightning scattered. Wings flailed. The beast dropped.
Liora dove after it.
"Leon. Bind mode."
Silver chains shot out from the mech's back, wrapping around the falling raptor.
Zephyron growled, but didn't resist.
"You won."
Liora hovered above it, mech sparking, half-damaged, still active.
"Damn right, I did."
The chains held tight. The sky fell quiet.
Zephyron looked up.
"I thought you were just another hunter."
Liora hovered above, her silver mech steaming.
"I'm not 'another' anything."
Zephyron coughed out a breath of smoke.
"…You fight like a monster."
"I take that as a compliment."
"…You didn't kill me."
"I only kill what I don't need."
Zephyron's eyes narrowed.
"Then what do you want from me?"
Liora tilted her head.
"I want you in a cage. On stage. Breaking the second auction record.
The raptor growled low.
"You're shameless."
Pause.
"…Fine. Do it."
Liora raised her arm.
"System. Capture."

[Status: Executing...]
---
Chains pulled tighter. Zephyron's body turned translucent.
"Hmph… make sure they deserve to see me."
Lucius smirked. "I will."
With one final spark of thunder, Zephyron vanished into the vault.
Liora lowered her arm and exhaled once.
Her mech vanished into the air.
She looked down at her empty hands.
"That's two."
She glanced up at the torn clouds.
"Time to go home."
---
Liora soon appeared in the hall of Luxoria Castle.
Loreia looked up from the stair rail where she'd been lounging. "Whoa. That was fast."
Luna turned from the hallway, brows raised. "You're back already?"
Liora nodded once, calm as ever.
Loreia stood, stretching her arms. "Didn't you take two whole days for Dreadmaw?"
Luna crossed her arms, a sly smile creeping in. "Exactly. That one had you flying around half the continent."
Loreia added, "What'd you do this time, scare it into a cage with your face?"
Liora smirked. "Funny. Keep talking, and I'll send you to collect the next one."
Loreia raised her hands. "I'm good."
Luna tapped her chin. "So… what was it this time? Another oversized lizard?"
Liora walked past them, voice steady. "No. This time it was an SS-Rank Sky Raptor."
Loreia blinked. "A flying one this time?"
Luna crossed her arms, raising her eyebrow. "So, why don't you catch another lizard kind of beast?"
Liora shrugged. "Master Lucius said the next one had to be different. So I chose air superiority."
Loreia leaned in. "What's it look like? Wings? Beak? Lightning?"
"You'll see."
She stepped forward and raised her hand.
"I'll summon it. But first—"
She tapped the side of her neck. "Liline."
Liline appeared at the end of the corridor, bowing and grinning.
"Yes, Miss Liora?"
"Build another containment cage. Same specs as Dreadmaw's. Strong, transparent."
Liline tilted her head. "For something big, I assume?"
Liora met her gaze. "Very."
Liline nodded once. "Understood. Preparing now."
She vanished again.
Loreia crossed her arms and leaned back against the railing. "How big we talkin'? Like Vornis big or…?"
"Bigger."
Luna smirked. "Should've brought popcorn."
Liora stood still, arms crossed, watching as construction units deployed from the floor.
Plates unfolded, supports locked into place.
In seconds, the base of the containment zone was built, rising tall with smooth transparency like Dreadmaw's cage.
"Fast," she muttered.
Liline reappeared beside it, inspecting every corner.
"Just as ordered. Ready when you are."
Loreia stepped up beside Liora. "Alright then. Let's see the SS-Rank beast."
Luna rested her hand on her hip. "Try not to break the roof this time."
Liora raised one hand.
"Get ready."
---
Liora locked her eyes on the center of the cage before turning toward the system.
"System, release Zephyron into this cage."
---
[Eternal Vault: Accessing…]
[Target: Zephyron]
[Status: Confirmed. Releasing to Designated Zone.]
---
Liline immediately took one step back. "Brace yourselves."
A sharp crack split the air before a burst of wind slammed outward from the cage's center.
Lightning flashed inside.
Zephyron appeared in a blink of light, wings spread wide, electricity sparking off every feather.
Its massive frame loomed tall, tail flicking once with controlled menace.
The raptor landed hard—BOOM.
The platform under it shook. Sparks scattered across the cage's inner walls.
Loreia stumbled back. "What the—?!"
She caught herself on the rail, eyes locked on the beast.
"That thing's HUGE."
Luna narrowed her eyes. "Yeah, but not as tall as Dreadmaw."
Loreia blinked. "Seriously?"
Luna gestured toward the Dreadmaw cage, not too far from there.
"Dreadmaw was twenty meters and this one's… what, seventeen?"
Liora stepped forward without hesitation. "Seventeen tall. But way wider. The wingspan stretches over fifty."
Loreia's jaw dropped. "Fifty?! Like five-zero?!"
"Five-zero," Liora confirmed.
Loreia let out a low whistle. "That's not a beast. That's a damn aircraft."
Zephyron shifted slightly, wings twitching as if to emphasize the point.
Luna tilted her head. "Its weight must be distributed across a glide ratio… No, forget it. I don't want to know how it even flies."
What do you think?
