Beast Hack: Customizing Beasts and Capturing Beauties

Chapter 41 Astra's Evolists' Method

Lucius was now going to the hall where the open class would be held. Liora also followed Lucius from behind and her claws were always ready.

Many students around were staring at Lucius and Liora, but they didn't dare to do anything after seeing Liora, who stared back at them.

Liora, who was now staring at the students, immediately readied her claws as she asked Lucius, "Should I handle them, Master? Their gaze made me uncomfortable."

Lucius only shook his head and smirked as he enjoyed this. "No, Liora. Let them stare all they want. I want to let them know who is the boss around here."

Liora only nodded as she followed him from behind, but still, her claws were always ready to strike anyone who dared to attack Lucius.

Both of them soon arrived at the hall where the open class will be held. Lucius was amazed by how big it was and also by a strange machine that Lucius didn't know at all in the center of the hall.

He immediately sat in the corner of the room where he could observe the class without drawing attention to himself. Liora also followed him and stood behind him as a bodyguard.

Lucius then observed all the students in the hall and soon found out that they all appeared to be timid, unsure and not confident at all.

Lucius could only think that all of them were not nobles. "No nobles, huh? How disappointing. This open class seems to attract only the mediocre."

Liora, who stood behind her, also observed the hall before asking Lucius, "They're unworthy of your presence, Master. Shall we leave?"

Lucius chuckled and arrogantly said. "Not yet. I am still curious to see what the Astra's professor will teach in this big hall."

A few moments later, the doors to the stage were opened and a man came in. Lucius assumed that he was a professor as he began to observe the hall from the center stage. After that, he began to start the class.

"Welcome to the open class. A new semester has begun, and with it, there are some new faces. Let me show you now what it means to be an Evolist at Astra Academy. I assure you, this is unlike anything you know before."

The professor then continued, "Forget the slow methods you've been taught elsewhere. Here at Astra, we forge high-class Evolists who are those who can go beyond ordinary and achieve results quickly and efficiently."

A student raised their hand hesitantly. "But, Professor, isn't preparing materials specifically tailored to the beast's nature the most effective way to evolve them?"

The professor sneered as he heard it. "That's precisely the mindset of a low-class Evolist. Tailoring materials? Spending days, even weeks, preparing? Such inefficiency has no place here."

The professor then explained the right way of Evolists. "Here at Astra, we teach energy control techniques to control over evolution energy so we don't need to waste time in aligning materials."

The students were still a bit confused after hearing it, so the professor could only sigh as he explained it more. "We don't need to align materials because we will directly control the evolution energy to force evolve the beasts."

The students then began to understand it after being explained more by the professor. Meanwhile, Lucius just thought about it and smirked after processing it.

"I see, so this is their method. They prioritize speed and efficiency over precision and power. It's practical but not my cup of tea. "Lucius said after coming to a conclusion.

Liora, who was not an Evolist, was confused and asked him. "So, Master, do you mean that this method is weak?"

Lucius chuckled as he looked at Liora and explained it. "Weak? No, not entirely. It's a clever shortcut, one that made the beasts evolve easily."

Lucius then paused and said, "But it's too safe. The beast will not grow strong in a safe environment the same as in a safe evolution. They needed risk and danger to push their limits to be stronger."

Lucius also reminded Liora about her evolution: "Don't you remember that your last evolution is really painful but the effect is that you are way stronger than before, right?"

Liora, who heard it, immediately understood it and smirked. "I see then, it is better for them to use this so our enemies will be weak." Lucius, who heard it, also smiled after thinking about it.

The professor soon walked toward the machine that Lucius didn't know what it was. The professor then began to introduce it.

"Students. Let me introduce you to one of Astra's most revolutionary tools: the Evolution Essence Maker." The professor began arrogantly.

The professor then took one of the vials from the machine and said, "This is a 2-Star Flame Essence, created by extracting the essence of various 2-Star materials and fusing them into a single concentrated form."

The students murmured among themselves and were amazed after hearing it; meanwhile, Lucius just kept his calm and continued to observe.

The professor then walked toward a cage that was currently inhabited by a small fox and said, "Now, I'll demonstrate the effectiveness of this method. Watch carefully."

He immediately fed the 2-Star Flame essence to the fox and the professor also began to control the energy of the evolution inside the fox with his glowing hands.

The fox then began to evolve; his fur began to be redder and its size was a bit bigger than before. Within moments, the evolution was complete and the fox had evolved into a 2-Star Flame Fox.

The students were surprised to see a fast and efficient evolution method. The professor smiled smugly, basking in their admiration.

The professor then said, "You see it now. With the Evolution Essence Maker, the process of evolution becomes faster and more efficient, as we only need a single vial of essence rather than numerous materials."

The professor then paused and began to warn them, "However, I need to tell you that the essence method is currently only effective for beasts ranked 3-Star and below."

A student then raised their hand and asked, "Professor, what if we wanted to evolve a beast into a stronger form of 2-Star? Wouldn't we need more essence for that?"@@novelbin@@

The professor nodded and explained. "Correct. To achieve a stronger evolution, you'd require multiple vials of essence. But you need to know that the energy control will be harder the stronger the evolution."

The professor also warned them. "For novices like yourselves, I recommend starting small. Learn to master the basics before reaching for greatness."

The professor clapped his hands, signaling the end of the session. "That concludes today's class. I encourage all of you to practice what you've learned. Remember, mastery is not achieved overnight."

The professor then began to leave the hall and the students also began to leave one by one, leaving Lucius to think about the class.
