Beast Tamer Ascension

Book 3: Chapter 41: Queyu and Heding

Vol 3 Chapter 41: Queyu and Heding

"Welcome back, Holy Maiden."

Outside the Demon Court's Holy Maiden Palace, two heavily armed Giant Apes guarding the entrance immediately greeted Xu Qingyao as the enormous puppet bird descended.

At the same time, their gazes shifted toward the two figures following behind her—Ouyang Hao and Lin Jing.

A new follower…?

Was this human a newly recruited subordinate?

Was he a pill master or a Beast Taming cultivator?

Humans were actually quite common within the Demon Court.

Unlike other demon beast factions, which prioritized power struggles, the Demon Court's goal was the revival of the demon race.

And since the demon race included many humanoid species, the Demon Court had long embraced human cultivators as part of its mission.

This had also led to the rise of human fanatics who were obsessed with demon supremacy.

Thus, every Holy Maiden had a number of human followers in her ranks.

The First Holy Maiden preferred collecting male cultivators with special physiques.

The Second Holy Maiden sought out geniuses skilled in innovating techniques and spells.

The Third Holy Maiden, Xu Qingyao, particularly favored alchemists and cultivators of the Beast Taming Art.

If they were an alchemist, she would assign them to study Transformation Pills.

If they were a Beast Taming genius, she would convince them to switch to the Beast Taming Art—complete with a pre-arranged battle beast.

Xu Qingyao turned to one of the Giant Apes and commanded:

"Great Ape, notify all members of Queyu to meet me at Zhongshen Mountain."

After issuing her order, she led Lin Jing and Ouyang Hao into the Holy Maiden Palace.

"Queyu"? What’s that?"

As they walked, Lin Jing turned to Senior Brother Ouyang and asked.

"It’s a group made up of the most talented followers of Senior Sister," Ouyang explained.

"They include both humans and demon beasts, but most of them are descendants of Demon Emperors—the offspring of those powerful demon beasts who serve as Senior Sister’s guardians.

Of course, there are also two humans with high-level demon beast bloodlines.

In short, every single one of them has the potential to reach the Nascent Soul Stage.

Under Senior Sister’s guidance and with the Demon Court’s resources, Queyu will likely become an elite Nascent Soul battle group in the future!"

Lin Jing nodded.

"Sounds impressive… So these are the ones we’re about to beat up, right?"

Ouyang twitched slightly.

At least pretend to respect them, bro.

"Ahem… Aside from Queyu, Senior Sister also has another group called Heding," Ouyang added.

"It consists entirely of alchemy geniuses, both humans and demon beasts, and they specialize in studying Transformation Pills."

Xu Qingyao, who was walking ahead, spoke without turning back:

"And yet, you disciples from the Beast Taming Sect couldn’t even qualify for either group.

Because of that, my decision to take you in has caused quite a bit of controversy."

"Uh…" Ouyang Hao grimaced.

"Senior Sister, the Beast Taming Sect is just a third-rate sect in the Ancient Kingdom… Even if the true disciples from the sect came, they still wouldn’t stand a chance against the monsters in Queyu."

He suddenly grinned and patted Lin Jing on the shoulder.

"But now, it doesn’t matter—because he’s here!"

That’s the guy who took the title of Number One Prodigy of the Ancient Kingdom with his Longevity Body!

Zhongshen Mountain

With the Third Holy Maiden’s summons, figures began emerging from their cave dwellings, descending upon the mountain.

"Strange… Why did the Holy Maiden suddenly call us here?"

Standing atop the mountain peak, a golden-maned young Lion Emperor muttered curiously.

Although only at the early Demon Core Stage, its Emperor-tier bloodline radiated a terrifying presence.

"No idea. Maybe there’s a newcomer joining us?"

Another figure approached—a white-haired youth with scars on his face.

Despite appearing human, he carried a strong wolf-like aura.

"If that’s the case, then our resources are about to be split up again."

He sighed before suddenly grinning perversely.

"I hope it’s a demon beast and not another human.

I wish I could be the Holy Maiden’s pet rather than contracting a beast myself..."

A voice scoffed from above.

"Disgusting. With your measly strength, you think you’re worthy of being the Holy Maiden’s pet?

Even I wouldn’t want you as mine."

A blue phoenix perched atop a tree, speaking in a female voice.

She was a divine bird from the Phoenix Clan, possessing an Emperor-tier bloodline.

"Shut up, stupid bird!" the white-haired youth snapped.

As the bickering continued, a total of four demon beasts and two humans with beast bloodlines gathered on the mountain.

All four demon beasts had Emperor-tier bloodlines—which was absolutely insane.

And the two humans had incredibly high-level demon beast bloodlines as well…

Suddenly—

"SILENCE!"

A voice rang out, and three figures descended in streaks of light—

Xu Qingyao, Lin Jing, and Ouyang Hao.

The Queyu members immediately quieted down and greeted her.

"Holy Maiden."

Xu Qingyao swept her gaze across them.

"Why are we missing one?"

Among the assembled members, there was:

A golden-maned young Lion Emperor

A blue-feathered young Phoenix

A black-haired young Ox Emperor

A red-haired young Ape Emperor

A white-haired wolf-blooded youth

A bear-blooded woman with a massive chest

"That guy probably sneaked out again," the black ox muttered lazily.

Xu Qingyao’s expression remained indifferent.

"He left the palace without reporting to me?

I’ll deal with him later.

For now, you six will suffice.

Let me introduce a newcomer."

She gestured toward Lin Jing.

"He is a Fire Dragon Alchemist and may become a member of Queyu."

The bear-blooded woman, still munching on dried meat, blinked in surprise.

"Huh?"

Her large chest heaved slightly as she stared blankly at Lin Jing.

"This guy… doesn’t even look stronger than the sunlight boy next to him.

And that sunlight boy is way below Queyu’s standards.

Can he really keep up?"

Ouyang Hao’s eyes twitched.

"What the hell did I do to deserve this?!"

"Just you wait! I’ll surpass all of you someday!"

The white-haired wolf youth narrowed his eyes in suspicion.

"Wait… An alchemist?

Shouldn’t he be in Heding?

Why is he joining Queyu?"

The other demon beast descendants also frowned.

"He’s only at mid Foundation Establishment…"

"Is he a Beast Taming cultivator?"

If he was a Beast Taming cultivator, then his personal realm didn’t matter—his battle beasts' strength did.

Xu Qingyao cut them off.

"Ask what’s necessary. Otherwise, shut up."

She turned to Lin Jing.

"Fire Dragon Alchemist, joining Queyu means you’ll have access to the Demon Court’s resources.

However, membership requires passing a test.

You must defeat at least one current Queyu member.

The more you defeat, the better your resources and treatment will be.

If you defeat the strongest member, you will become Queyu’s leader in my absence.

Now—choose your opponent."

Lin Jing glanced at the six formidable figures before him.

Then he asked casually—

"Holy Maiden, who is the current leader of Queyu?"

At his words, five members immediately narrowed their eyes.

This newcomer… sure was bold.

Behind them, a massive black ox, lying on the ground, lazily opened its eyes.

"Human boy, newcomers should act like newcomers.

Your ambition is too high."

Lin Jing smirked.

"Then I choose you."

He paused, studying the ox.

"A Dali Ox Demon… huh?

That’s a rare bloodline."

The Dali Ox Demon slowly stood up, its black eyes locking onto Lin Jing.

"Foolish choice.

But since you were brought by the Holy Maiden, I won’t eat you.

Even though… you do look tasty."
