Chapter 688: 683: Fragments of the Bronze Dragon's Secret Realm
Chapter 688: Chapter 683: Fragments of the Bronze Dragon’s Secret Realm
A long time later, as the sound of the sword gradually faded away, Bai Qi finally poked his head out of the Secret Realm Tower. He carefully examined the surroundings, and only after confirming its safety did he let out the other pets and sea beasts.
Awooo?
(Where are the Dead Beasts? Did they all run away?)
“They didn’t run away, they were all annihilated.”
Schuck glanced at Alpha, who was still standing atop the Secret Realm Tower, and he already knew what had happened.
“I didn’t expect the amplification effect of the Secret Realm Tower to be so great, it seems to be even better than what Huangfu Chuanqi and their group can achieve?”
Bai Qi nodded in satisfaction. Alpha could defeat those sea beasts on his own, but it would certainly not be as efficient, and judging by Alpha’s appearance, it seemed that he did not have to exert much energy.
“No wonder they all say that the Secret Realm Tower is a great weapon in the battlefield, there is some truth in it.”
Schuck continuously compared and calculated the amplification effect of the Secret Realm Tower, then his eyes flashed with perseverance and he directly returned to the Secret Realm Base.
“What’s wrong with this guy?”
Bai Qi looked confused, but before he could ask Schuck, Alpha on top of his head suddenly called out.
Crack crack.
(Boss, I found the Cowskin Snake.)
“Oh? Is that guy okay?”
Crack crack.
(It should be okay, its aura just seems a bit strange.)
Because of the Cowskin Snake, Alpha’s attack just now, although seemingly mindless, was actually a precise control of strength and direction, naturally, it wouldn’t harm the Cowskin Snake.
“Let’s go check it out.”
Ever since they entered the Lethe Trench, there was something off about the Cowskin Snake. Now that it was somehow connected to the Death Round Table, Bai Qi was indeed somewhat worried.
Under Alpha’s guidance, Bai Qi and his group arrived in front of a nondescript little house.
This house was located in the corner of the base, very inconspicuous, to the extent that even the Dead Beasts did not destroy it.
Normally, Bai Qi would never have noticed this place, but because of the Dead Beasts’ commotion, this little house stood out within the surrounding ruins.
“Is the Cowskin Snake in here?”
Bai Qi and Alpha confirmed again, Alpha nodded slightly, the sword light flashed, and the little house collapsed instantly, revealing its interior.
The layout inside the house was very simple, just a very ordinary bedroom. However, the bed in the bedroom had been overturned, revealing a half-open stone door.
Crack crack.
(Boss, this is the last place where the Cowskin Snake’s aura appears.)
“Is this some kind of low-key entrance to a secret room? Seems a bit too crude.”
Bai Qi looked dismayed, but still stood in front of the stone door.
Beyond the stone door was a narrow passage allowing only one person to pass, so Bai Qi simply left the sea beasts outside as a precaution, and he went in with Alpha and the Absurd Clown.
The passage was very long and had no forks. Bai Qi walked for a while but never reached the end.
“Alpha, can you sense where the end is?”
Crack crack.
(Almost there, about a hundred meters more.)
Alpha sensed a bit and then replied.
“Why does it feel weird to dig such a long secret passage?”
Bai Qi slightly frowned, he looked around and continued to move forward, finally reaching the end of the passage.
However, the end was not a hidden place as Bai Qi had imagined, but rather a wall with bas-reliefs, and it was clear that these bas-reliefs had been tampered with.
“Do we need to restore the bas-relief to open the entrance?”
Bai Qi looked at the bas-relief a few times, but then he suddenly turned around and walked back without hesitation.
Crack crack?
(Boss, is there a problem with this bas-relief?)
Seeing this, Alpha appeared somewhat puzzled and asked.
“The bas-relief is fine, but it is definitely not where the Cowskin Snake disappeared.”
Bai Qi shook his head and glanced at the bas-relief, “And do you really think the Cowskin Snake can manipulate such complex things?”
Crack crack.
(Seems like, it can’t.)
Alpha remained quiet upon hearing this and followed Bai Qi back to the entrance of the passage.
“Brother, did you find anything?”
Seeing Bai Qi return empty-handed, Ming Dian couldn’t help but ask.
“Well, not exactly.”
Bai Qi shook his head, returned the stone door to its half-open state, and looked into the passage again. Sure enough, there was an array hidden behind the stone door.
This array was not complicated. With just one glance, Bai Qi recognized that the main function of this array was teleportation.
“Since the entrance is here, the thing at the end of the secret passage is probably a trap.”
Seeing this, Bai Qi couldn’t help but laugh. Most people would think that the bas-relief at the end of the passage was the key. Who would have expected someone to hide the entrance right on the front door?
“Let’s go, let’s go see. Whatever the Death Round Table went to such lengths to hide must be worthwhile!”
Bai Qi took the lead, putting on his mask and rushing in with enthusiasm. Alpha followed closely, leaving behind a group of sea beasts standing around, looking at each other in confusion.
“Suddenly, I feel as if we are just a burden.”
Blast Tiger Whale looked at Icefoot Sea Lice King and said.
“No, you’re not, you’re a mount, I am the real burden.”
Icefoot Sea Lice King shook his head and said.
Blast Tiger Whale: “…”
“If two of us are legends, one is a mount, and one is a burden, then what are we?”
Bloodthirsty Bat Skate shook its head, posing the question to Ming Dian.
“Trash, perhaps…”
…
After passing through the Teleportation Circle, Bai Qi arrived in a pitch-black space, somewhat similar to the Death Knight’s manufacturing base hidden under the Angel Secret Realm.
However, this place was clearly empty already, with signs of relocation remaining on the ground.
“Well hidden, seems like this is the core of the base.”
Bai Qi looked around the area, feeling a bit disappointed.
This place was cleaner than if a mouse had passed through. Finding any useful information here seemed unlikely.
“Where on earth has that Cowskin Snake gone?
Bai Qi looked around again, but failed to see any sign of the Cowskin Snake. In the end, it was Alpha who discovered the abnormality.
Alpha hacked out with his sword and the flat ground suddenly shattered, revealing a huge void.
Bai Qi walked to the edge of the void and looked down. To his surprise, there was a vast pool below filled with black liquid, continuously emitting an uneasy aura.
“The Death Virus?”
Bai Qi squinted, and upon closer inspection, he saw several outlets surrounding the pool.
“This is where the Death Round Table cultivated the Death Virus and then spread it into the sea? No wonder we couldn’t find it at the West Sea, if the amount is controlled correctly it would indeed be hard to detect.”
Bai Qi realized instantly. He signaled with his eyes to Alpha, who understood. He released the Dragon of Silent Annihilation into the pool. In a blink of an eye, the black liquid was entirely consumed.
Having absorbed a large amount of the Death Virus, the Dragon of Silent Annihilation’s body became more solid. These creatures that usually made the Sea Beasts tremble in fear were now merely fodder for the Dragon of Silent Annihilation.
Yet Bai Qi was not in the mood to pay attention to such things. He was drawn to the Cowskin Snake lying at the bottom of the pool.
The Cowskin Snake lay dormant with its eyes tightly shut, coiling itself up at the bottom of the pool. Hovering in front of the Cowskin Snake was a bronze-colored metal fragment.
“Is that a fragment of Bronze Dragon’s Secret Realm?”
Although it was incomplete, Bai Qi recognized the origin of that bronze fragment at first glance. It resembled the dial of a pocket watch.
“Truly, no effort is needed when it’s destined to be yours, finding the Death Virus ended up revealing the fragment of Bronze Dragon’s Secret realm.”
Bai Qi grinned, ready to pick up the fragment of the Bronze Dragon’s Secret Realm. However, the fragment suddenly emitted a ray of light which merged into the body of the Cowskin Snake. Astonishingly, the body of the Cowskin Snake began to expand steadily, and in a short moment, it had grown to the size of a calf.
“Well, well, it seems that it has absorbed the power of its race and has started awakening its bloodline, huh?”
Bai Qi, seeing the Cowskin Snake that now faintly resembled a member of the dragon race, was taken aback.
Bai Qi had just seen something similar happen with Nicholas, who had inherited the power of a Mythical Green Dragon. Yet the Cowskin Snake’s transformation paled in comparison with Nicholas’.
Regardless, the Cowskin Snake was now able to shed its serpentine name and become a part of the dragon race.
The question was how Beta would react to this. Could they still fight each other now that one had evolved from a snake to a dragon?
Finally, the Cowskin Snake’s transformation halted. Its size now was comparable to that of a Husky. From afar, it bore traces of the dignity typical of the dragon race.
“How did I fall asleep?”
The Cowskin Snake woke up and glanced around in confusion. It saw the bronze fragment and was struck by a sudden realization. It exclaimed, “I’ve found the Bronze Dragon….”
“Yes, the Bronze Dragon Secret Realm.”
Bai Qi descended from the sky, landing in front of the Cowskin Snake. After a short period of bewilderment, the Cowskin Snake noticed its own transformation.
“My body… have I finally returned to the form of a Bronze Dragon?!”
“Yes, congratulations.”
Bai Qi patted the Bronze Dragon and then turned his attention back to the fragment.
The Bronze fragment started to vibrate quickly as if it had felt Bai Qi’s presence, or more precisely, the presence of the Time Secret Realm within his Beast Control Space. The fragment swung back and forth between Bai Qi and the Cowskin Snake before leaping towards Bai Qi.
Seeing this, Bai Qi didn’t dodge. The Bronze fragment transformed into a light stream and rushed into the Beast Control Space, merging into the Time Secret Realm.
The fusion of a new fragment sparked changes in the Time Secret Realm. Not only did the space within expand significantly, but also an illusionary river appeared, the sound of rushing water was heard.
However, upon closer inspection, what flowed inside the river was not water, but tiny grains of sand.
“Is this the legendary Time River?”
Bronze Dragons, the guardians of time, were known to traverse the Time River all year round. Yet Bai Qi could not imagine that the Time River could be brought into a Secret Realm.
“Yes, this is the Time River.”
The Cowskin Snake followed Bai Qi into the Secret Realm. Sensing the strong presence of the Power of Time, it flung itself towards the Time River, only to fall flat.
“Seems like there are not enough fragments to condense into a physical form. Perhaps the moment I gather all the fragments, the river will become real?”
Bai Qi raised an eyebrow, faintly anticipating this.
What do you think?
