Chapter 113: Chapter 108: Signs of Evolution_2

“Vice Principal, rest assured, we will work really hard!” Qiao Sang was already completely fired up with enthusiasm for the training camp.

Liu Yao nodded with satisfaction, “Very good. Student Lu Liangye, you may go out first.”

Lu Liangye was totally bewildered. Just like that, he was asked to leave? What about Qiao Sang?

“Vice Principal, I’ll work hard too.”

“Hmm, I know. I still have something to discuss with student Qiao Sang. Please go out first.”

What could they have to discuss that couldn’t be said in front of him!

...

“All right.” Lu Liangye stood up to leave and politely closed the door behind him.

As soon as Lu Liangye left, Liu Yao could hardly wait to stand up and come to Qiao Sang, his eyes blazing as he stared at the Fire-Toothed Dog and exclaimed in amazement.

“Your Fire-Toothed Dog is completely different from a month ago; its jaws are short and powerful, its teeth sharp and lethal, and its fur is two degrees glossier than before. It seems like it is about to evolve.”

Qiao Sang couldn’t help feeling impressed. An A-rank Breeder could tell all that at a glance.

“Is it really about to evolve?” Qiao Sang asked excitedly, pretending.

“Yes, and the Fire-Toothed Dog is in great spirits, its gaze clear. There’s no sign it’s been forced to improve with elixirs. You’ve taken very good care of it,” Liu Yao praised.

He paused and then continued, “This Fire-Toothed Dog has extraordinary talent. When it shows signs of evolving, I suggest you use an A-rank Fire Element Evolution Stone; if possible, it would be best to use an S-rank.”

The Fire-Toothed Dog cannot evolve naturally; to evolve into a Blazehound, it must use a Fire Element Evolution Stone.

Qiao Sang had researched this about evolution signs as well.

Pet Beasts approaching evolution all exhibit certain behaviors that differ from their usual patterns.

For example, a Cotton Caterpillar would spin silk around itself, and a White Sand Fox would suddenly experience acute pain in its tail.

As for the Fire-Toothed Dog, it gets an inexplicable urge to bite things.

That’s when you have to buy a stick for it to chew on continuously; otherwise, anything might get damaged.

Qiao Sang thought for a moment and then asked, “Is there a chance for the Fire-Toothed Dog to evolve without an Evolution Stone?”

Liu Yao did not expect her to ask this question.

He was taken aback for a moment and then answered, “There are such cases, though they utilized other resources as substitutes, which are not less valuable than the Evolution Stones.”

Before Qiao Sang could speak, Liu Yao said with an uneasy tone, “Student Qiao Sang, if you have any issues, you can come to me. You and your Fire-Toothed Dog both have great talents, and I don’t want you to be held back by resources or other matters.”

Qiao Sang’s eyes lit up, “Really?”

Liu Yao affirmed solemnly, “If there’s a problem, I will definitely help you. You’re a talented child, and all you need to do is study hard and train well. With your talent, you should not be buried amongst the masses.”

Many talented novice Beast Tamers faded into obscurity due to a lack of money or resources.

He was not a philanthropist, but this child’s talent was truly impressive. In just a month, she had bound with two Pet Beasts using the Beast Taming Codex, and the Fire-Toothed Dog she contracted also possessed a rare talent, growing at an incredibly fast rate.

This made him truly passionate about nurturing talent.

And most importantly, with her joining, this cohort might really have a chance to defeat Litian Royal Beast High School.

That way, he would have fulfilled his childhood friend’s request and could return to the research institute to continue his own work.

Liu Yao looked at Qiao Sang with an encouraging gaze, signaling her to boldly state what she wanted.

Qiao Sang said excitedly, “If we need to board during the training camp, can I apply to live off-campus? And can I bring my cellphone during the school term?”

Liu Yao: “…”

The student dormitories at Shengshui Middle School were suites, with two bedrooms, a living room, and a bathroom—a luxurious setup for a high school.

Feeling mentally and physically exhausted, Qiao Sang arrived at the female dormitory, which was named Qinxuyuan.

From the name, it wasn’t hard to see the high expectations Shengshui Middle School had for its students.

After calling her mother to explain that she would be staying on-campus, Qiao Sang went to the dormitory supervisor and got the room card for her assigned dormitory, number 312.

On her way to the dormitory, Qiao Sang was full of resentment. The Vice Principal was difficult to deal with. He spoke so nicely, yet he agreed to neither of her requests.

Fortunately, she wouldn’t have to hand in her phone during the training, or she wouldn’t know what would become of her 5 million.

Qiao Sang arrived at 312 and just used the room card to open the door.

“AHH!!!”

A high-pitched scream rang out from inside.

Qiao Sang and Xiao Xunbao covered their ears at the same time.

“Grrr!”

The Fire-Toothed Dog’s fur instantly bristled, and it jumped out of its Beast Tamer’s arms, ready for battle as it eyed the culprit with its defenses up.

Seeing the culprit crying and hiding in another girl’s arms, looking scared, the Fire-Toothed Dog closed its bared teeth and its fur settled down.

It was scared to death; it thought there was an enemy. It turned out to be just a scaredy-cat.

“Senior… senior, why do you have our dorm room card?”

The girl who spoke had naturally curly long hair that fell thickly behind her like seaweed.

“I’m a new student, just here to report. I’m staying in this dorm as well,” Qiao Sang explained.

The girl forgot her fear and stood stunned in place.

A new student?!

She was both excited and dazed. To think that Shengshui Middle School had a new student who had contracted with two Pet Beasts, and furthermore…

She shyly glanced at the Fire-Toothed Dog and the Treasure-seeking Ghost.

Oh my! Her future roommate’s contracted beasts were everything she was afraid of…

“I… my name is Jin Feifan, I also just arrived today to report,” said Jin Feifan, trying hard to smile.

Although the roommate looked scary, she had to get on good terms for the sake of their future together!

“My name is Qiao Sang. Are you here for the training camp as well?” Qiao Sang asked as she entered the room to look around at the dormitory’s layout.

“Yes, yes, anyone here at the school at this time should be here for the training. That’s great, we can move together,” Jin Feifan forced a smile.

Qiao Sang looked at her quizzically, “What’s wrong, you look like you’re about to cry?”

Jin Feifan: “…”
