During that time, he had specifically trained in pet cooperation and skill synergy.

As the runner-up in the national high school segment of the Campus Beast Mastering League, his battle talent was undeniable.

After ten minutes of battle between Tang Yi’s Palm Zhangci Lili and Paralulu, Qiu Zhuo declared the test over.

With Steel-Slashing Monkey’s level, it could have easily endured the damage and taken down Zhangci Lili in an instant.

However, since the goal of the exam was not victory but rather evaluating the candidate and their pet’s capabilities, Qiu Zhuo held back significantly.

That the battle lasted the full ten minutes of the pet doubles test showed that Tang Yi’s skills were solid.

When it was Qiao Sang’s turn, Qiu Zhuo waved his hand, recalling Peering Wave Eagle into the Beast Taming Codex, leaving only the Steel-Slashing Monkey on the field.

So they were changing the lineup... Qiao Sang wasn’t particularly surprised.

During Tang Yi’s test, Peering Wave Eagle had taken a heavy blow from Paralulu’s temporary bond evolution and wasn’t in a state to continue testing.

Just as Qiao Sang assumed her opponents would be Steel-Slashing Monkey and another unseen pet beast of the examiner, Qiu Zhuo spoke up:

“Little Steel, switch with Little Head.”

“Steel steel.”

Steel-Slashing Monkey nodded, walked over to the camera equipment, and crouched down, trying to lower its head, nearly a meter wide, closer to the lens.

“Head head!”

Touyan Ke disapprovingly patted Steel-Slashing Monkey on the knee.

“Steel steel…”

Steel-Slashing Monkey made a face like it had almost forgotten something, then pressed a button on the lightweight miniaturization wristband, shrinking its body.

So intelligence and combat power really are two different things… Qiao Sang glanced at Yabao, trying not to react.

Touyan Ke, Yabao, and Lubao stepped onto the field.

The now 70-centimeter Steel-Slashing Monkey waved a green flag.

Qiu Zhuo made a hand seal, summoning a 5-meter-long beast covered in an armor-like, sand-colored exoskeleton.

Several spikes of varying sizes jutted from its head, neck, and shoulders, with a ring of smaller spikes at the end of its tail.

So much for strategizing, neither of these were the pets that tested Tang Yi… Qiao Sang felt like plans could never keep up with change.

She recognized Touyan Ke, a Rock-type advanced-level beast that usually hid underground, absorbing sunlight through the gray crystal on its chest, converting it into energy, and firing light balls from its mouth.

However, it couldn’t use this attack at night or in the rain. That much was common knowledge.

Her gaze then fell on the new beast, growing serious.

Judging by its presence, another general-level pet…

A Rock-type general-level beast, Sandstorm Armor Beast…

Tang Yi, watching from the sidelines, quickly identified Qii Zhuo’s newly summoned pet.

He might not have much doubles battle experience, but he was well aware of Sandstorm Armor Beast’s role in team battles.

With its Sandstorm trait, it was the absolute core of any weather-based Sandstorm Team.

If paired with a teammate that had the Sand Rush ability, they would be an unstoppable duo…

The three examiners watching the virtual screen turned to discuss.

“Sandstorm Armor Beast and Touyan Ke… That’s a professional beast tamer’s doubles lineup. Qiao Sang’s sending out Blazing Star Canine and Ice Xilu, Fire and Water, which counter each other. This is tough.”

“Not necessarily. Ice Xilu has Healing Light. As long as it keeps healing, it could outlast the opponents.”

“Sandstorm Armor Beast is a weather setter, an attacker, and a tank. With its Sandstorm trait, it’s almost flawless in doubles battles, way more effective than Steel-Slashing Monkey.”

“Ice Xilu has Healing Light, but its defenses are weak. If it takes a strong attack, it might not even have time to heal.”

“With healing, it should be able to hold out until the test time ends.”

“Qin Zhuo will probably focus on taking down Ice Xilu first, right?”

“Don’t forget about Blazing Star Canine.”

“I’m actually looking forward to seeing how Blazing Star Canine and Ice Xilu coordinate.”

The three turned back to the screen.

The test had already begun.

“Sandstorm!”

Sandstorm Armor Beast roared.

A fierce wind kicked up, sending sand and dust swirling into the air, instantly shrouding the area in a thick haze.

The yellow storm completely obscured Qiao Sang’s view of her opponents.

The Sandstorm trait…

Pet beasts with this trait could shift the weather to Sandstorm for a period of time. During this weather, Rock-type, Ground-type, and Steel-type beasts gained boosted Special Defense, while other types gradually weakened.

Qiao Sang’s mind raced, analyzing her options.

If this beast had Sandstorm, then it was almost certainly Rock-type. Paired with Touyan Ke, they were clearly setting up a Sandstorm Team strategy…

She had studied common doubles team strategies before while preparing for the friendly team battle.

Among all the weather-based strategies, the Sandstorm Team was one of the most discussed.

The best counter? Rain.

Lubao could use Rain Prayer.

But that would also weaken Yabao…

Qiao Sang hesitated for only 0.2 seconds before deciding:

“Rain Prayer!”

Breaking their setup was top priority!

“Lu lu!”

Lubao lifted her head, gathering energy.

Just then, Touyan Ke, already rolling forward and accelerating, glowed faintly yellow. The massive, spinning yellow ball hurtled toward Lubao as she cast her skill.

Just as the attack was about to land, a scorching flame descended from above, cutting between the “yellow ball” and Lubao.

Touyan Ke was forced to veer off course.

Lubao glanced at Yabao.

Yabao looked toward Sandstorm Armor Beast, still unmoving in the distance.

From the storm’s center, it was impossible to see clearly. But Yabao had teleported to high altitude at the start of the match.

Though visibility was poor, he could still make out vague silhouettes of their opponents.

Suddenly, the blurry figure on the ground raised a massive fist and slammed it down.

The ground trembled violently.

At the same time, the sky darkened, and rain began to fall.
