Blue Star.

Central Hollow University.

The three proctoring teachers were still sighing over the fall of Touyan Ke.

“Although Blazing Star Canine and Ice Xilu have incompatible attributes, their teamwork is truly outstanding, honestly, it’s almost at a professional level.”

“Ice Xilu actually controlled the range of Rain Prayer so as not to interfere with Blazing Star Canine's skills.”

“Controlling the casting range of Rain Prayer isn’t easy. It requires a high level of energy control and skill proficiency.”

“That’s right. And more importantly, it wasn’t controlled during casting but after it had already been activated.”

“This means Ice Xilu was continuously regulating the energy of Rain Prayer.”

“Also, Ice Xilu knew to stall Sandstorm Armor Beast’s movement, allowing Blazing Star Canine to attack Touyan Ke without any pressure.”

“Speaking of which, in a battle between high-level pet beasts, Blazing Star Canine really seems almost invincible. Touyan Ke barely put up a fight.”

“Good thing Teacher Qiu has two General-level pet beasts. Otherwise, this test might’ve been a bit of a problem.”

“Hmm? Look, the test is still going on.”

---

Chaosu Star.

Outdoor Training Grounds.

The drizzle stopped, and half of the dark clouds dispersed.

On the battlefield, the ground caved in, swirling sand forming vortexes that seemed ready to swallow everything on the surface.

“Water Stream Jet!” Qiao Sang saw the change in the field and immediately commanded.

Water instantly enveloped Lubao’s entire body, launching her upward like a water column.

Almost the moment Lubao left the ground, the spot she had occupied moments before turned into a quicksand vortex.

In midair, the water column moved at extreme speed, rapidly changing angles. After a sharp turn, it streaked past Sandstorm Armor Beast’s body at a speed too fast for the eye to follow.

Sandstorm Armor Beast showed no signs of injury.

Lubao landed in an area untouched by the quicksand vortex.

“Lu.”

She had a solemn expression.

A General-level pet beast truly is on another level… Qiao Sang thought.

When Lubao used Water Stream Jet near Sandstorm Armor Beast just now, it was as if Sandstorm Armor Beast had already predicted the attack’s trajectory.

With just a slight shift of its footing and a small turn, it had effortlessly dodged the strike, almost as if, to its eyes, Water Stream Jet was moving in slow motion.

Qiao Sang refocused her thoughts, concentrating fully.

Even though her opponent was a General-level pet beast, it was alone. One-on-one, she might not stand a chance, but now… maybe she had a shot.

“Meteor Rain!” Qiao Sang shouted.

Yabao’s Fire Rain took about five seconds to drop after being released. With Lubao there, stalling for five seconds should be manageable.

“Yap!”

Hearing his beastmaster’s command, Yabao lifted his head slightly. A crimson energy sphere containing terrifying power condensed in its mouth.

“Stop it.” Qu Zhuo ordered.

The champion of this year’s High School National Campus Beast Mastering League had a Blazing Star Canine whose Meteor Rain had reached the ‘Ultimate’ level.

Qiu Zhuo had read about it. He didn’t even need to check the records, he had seen the news trending online back then.

Even though he was on Chaosu Star, he checked the interstellar web daily to stay updated on news from home.

He had never personally experienced a Ultimate level Meteor Rain before, and he didn’t want to.

Hearing Qiu Zhuo’s command, Qiao Sang was reminded of her morning match between Yabao and Steel-Slashing Monkey.

Back then, Steel-Slashing Monkey had split an energy sphere in half with a single blade slash, leaving a strong impression on her.

This General-level pet beast can’t be that strong… right? She muttered internally.

“Sandstorm.”

Sandstorm Armor Beast let out a cry.

A fierce wind erupted. A spiraling air current rose from the battlefield, quickly reaching a height of about eight meters.

Along with the whirlwind, sand and gravel filled the air, spreading a choking scent of dust.

The sky darkened. Against the swirling sand, it seemed to take on a yellowish hue.

High-tier skill, Sandstorm… Ugh, this is suffocating. (T/n: It had both a skill and a trait of Sandstorm???) Qiao Sang instinctively held her breath and muttered, “Lubao.”

The Sandstorm swirled, advancing toward Yabao.

The battlefield wasn’t small, but the Sandstorm’s range was massive, covering nearly a third of it.

As it moved slightly, even its outermost edge began affecting Yabao.

Suddenly, a freezing chill shot upward from the storm’s outermost layer, attempting to freeze the swirling sand.

But the Sandstorm was too powerful. The moment the icy air entered, it was instantly consumed, having no effect.

“Lu!”

Seeing that Yabao was about to be swept into the Sandstorm, Lubao’s expression turned firm. She wrapped herself in water, surged forward, and made a sharp 180-degree turn midair, diving straight into the storm!

A hole instantly appeared in the Sandstorm in front of Yabao.

Using this opening, Meteor Rain successfully launched toward the sky.

The swirling sand engulfed the battlefield.

Yet Yabao did not teleport to safety.

Instead, he turned and charged into the Sandstorm without hesitation.

What is this, some heartwarming TV drama scene?

Qiao Sang’s brain went off-track for a moment before she quickly refocused and analyzed the situation.

Sandstorm was a skill that caused continuous damage rather than a sudden burst of high damage.

As long as it wasn’t an explosive, devastating attack, Lubao could endure it while using Healing Light.

That was her main reason for letting Lubao face the Sandstorm head-on.

Dust and sand filled the air, making it impossible to see what was happening inside.

Then, fire rained down.

Tang Yi, who was well aware of the power of Ultimate level Meteor Rain, silently took a few steps back.

Little Treasure and Gangbao also instinctively retreated.

The once-dusty, sand-filled sky instantly turned red.

Flames fell like torrential rain, dispersing the sandstorm.

At five meters tall, Sandstorm Armor Beast had nowhere to hide.

It raised both arms, and a hazy yellow energy shield enveloped its body.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Fire rained down continuously onto the shield, exploding like grenades.

The yellow glow flickered, and soon, cracks appeared.

Qiu Zhuo’s expression changed drastically. As if realizing something, he quickly glanced at his wristwatch.

The shield shattered.

When Qiu Zhuo looked back up, he saw the exact moment it broke.

Even though he had full confidence in Sandstorm Armor Beast’s defense, the sheer power of this Meteor Rain still made his heart skip a beat.

With the fastest reflexes of his life, he quickly recalled Sandstorm Armor Beast into his beast master codex.

Why’d you recall it? Qiao Sang blinked at him in confusion.

Noticing her gaze, Qu Zhuo shouted, “The test is over!”

You could’ve said that earlier! Qiao Sang’s eyes widened as she hurriedly recalled Yabao and Lubao into her codex.

As the firestorm ceased, she made a hand seal, preparing to summon them back out.

Just then, a staff member in a deep blue uniform walked over, staring at the battlefield, now full of craters, faintly glowing red, and utterly unrecognizable.

He pointed at the devastated field and asked, “Who did this?”
