Beast Taming: Starting From Zero

Chapter 595: Delivery

Chapter 595: Delivery

Qiao Sang was momentarily stunned.

Before she could react, the leading Chan Chan Stone tapped on the window twice again with a thud thud.

Only then did Qiao Sang snap out of it, get up, and open the window.

“Chan chan!”

“Chan chan!”

“Chan chan!”

“Chan chan!”

“Chan chan!”

One after another, five Chan Chan Stones jumped in through the window in an orderly fashion and landed neatly on the desk. Then, they all turned to Qiao Sang with big smiles.

She hesitated.

“What’s this about…?”

“Chan chan!”

The leading Chan Chan Stone chirped energetically.

Whatever it meant, the other four all nodded in agreement.

Qiao Sang fell silent for a few seconds before raising her voice.

“Little Treasure!”

“Xun xun~”

In the next moment, Little Treasure appeared out of thin air.

“Translate.” Qiao Sang said.

Following his Beast master’s gaze, Little Treasure looked down in confusion, then his eyes widened.

Three minutes later, after digesting the translation, Qiao Sang couldn’t help but confirm:

“You all want to stay here and work?”

“Chan chan!”

All five Chan Chan Stones nodded in perfect unison.

“Are you serious?” She still found it hard to believe.

“Chan chan!”

The leading Chan Chan Stone took a step forward, looking incredibly serious as it let out a cry.

Qiao Sang didn’t even need Little Treasure to translate, she could tell just by its expression.

The whole thing happened so suddenly that she was still a little dazed.

Just this morning, they had looked eager to leave, so why had they returned at night, and even brought more of their kind along?

Didn’t they not want to stay?

What changed?

Seeing that the human before them wasn’t speaking, the leading Chan Chan Stone seemed to have thought of something. It suddenly grabbed one of the other Chan Chan Stones and gave it a firm smack on the back of the head.

“Chan chan…”

The smacked Chan Chan Stone let out a shy chirp.

“Xun xun…”

Little Treasure mimicked its tone and translated dutifully.

Though all five Chan Chan Stones looked similar, Qiao Sang had spent quite some time with one of them. She recognized at a glance that the shy one was the very same Chan Chan Stone she had picked up outside the ore market.

Unlike its usual lifeless, exhausted demeanor, today its expression was animated, it seemed to have undergone a major shift in mindset.

After listening to the translation and seeing the Chan Chan Stone’s reaction, Qiao Sang suddenly felt a burst of amusement.

“So you just want food, lodging, and four pieces of Purple Lake Crystal?” She asked with a grin.

“Chan chan!”

The four non-shy Chan Chan Stones nodded eagerly.

Qiao Sang’s smile widened.

“No problem, welcome aboard.”

Little Treasure had barely teleported in when Gangbao followed in behind him, quietly watching everything unfold with an unmistakable glint of joy in her eyes.

---

Late at night.

Little Treasure was brimming with energy, floating around the living room in search of the hiding Chan Chan Stones.

Of all the creatures in the household, no one was happier about the newcomers than he was.

Of course, the one who benefited the most should’ve been Gangbao, but Gangbao had always been reserved, making it hard to tell when she was pleased.

Little Treasure, on the other hand, wore his emotions openly.

Before, no one ever played with him at night, his Beast master had to study, Yabao needed sleep, Lubao was either training or sleeping, and Gangbao also slept.

The old Chan Chan Stone had been too exhausted from binge-watching dramas, and it would often doze off before finishing an episode.

But now, with five Chan Chan Stones around, they could take turns on the night shift.

And while they were at it, they could also play hide-and-seek with it. Perfect.

“Xun!”

After finding all the Chan Chan Stones, Little Treasure stood with his arms akimbo and let out a triumphant laugh toward the ceiling.

Halfway through, he suddenly remembered that Big Brother Yabao and the others were sleeping, so he quickly clamped his mouth shut.

Two of the Chan Chan Stones exchanged glances.

One’s gaze seemed to ask: Is this part of the job, too?

The other’s gaze replied: Don’t ask. Just do whatever the boss says.

“Xun xun.”

Just then, Little Treasure seemed to recall something. He straightened up and declared that he was now going to train.

“Chan chan?”

The three Chan Chan Stones on night duty immediately perked up with fresh-hire enthusiasm.

What were they supposed to do?

“Xun xun~”

Little Treasure beamed.

Obviously, they were going to train with him!

---

The next afternoon, after class.

Qiao Sang received an interstellar call from Blue Star.

It was Song Yuan.

She got straight to the point.

“I already sent you the new sunglasses. Just got word, they’ve arrived at your school’s mailroom. Pick them up, take the photos, and send them to me online.”

“Got it.” Qiao Sang suddenly remembered she still had that gig.

“Not much else to say. Interstellar calls aren’t cheap. Take care of yourself, and call me if you need anything.” With that, Song Yuan hung up.

Qiao Sang put her phone away and changed direction, heading toward the mailroom.

Sainan High School’s mailroom handled incoming and outgoing documents, packages, and temporarily stored food deliveries.

While picking up her package, Qiao Sang unexpectedly found she had two deliveries.

She checked the sender’s address.

[Vit Archway Street, No. 2266, Jilun Jewelry Store]

Little Treasure's diamond gloves…

She immediately knew what was inside.

“This one’s yours.” Qiao Sang handed the package to Little Treasure.

“Xun xun?”

Little Treasure looked puzzled.

He shook the box, then turned to Gangbao and called out, “Xun xun~”

Gangbao, ever efficient, simply slashed downward with one wing.

A sharp glow flashed, cleanly splitting open the top of the package without damaging the contents inside.

“Xun xun!”

Little Treasure opened the box, eyes lighting up at the sight of the gloves inside. He let out an excited chirp and eagerly put them on.

Gangbao stared at the diamond gloves on Little Treasure's paws, momentarily dumbfounded.

For the first time ever, she felt like he wasn’t very smart.

But she didn’t ask any questions.

Little did she know, she wouldn’t take long for her to feel this way again.

---

8:30 PM, dormitory.

“Right. Lift your head a bit. Yes, just like that. Hold the pose.”

Qiao Sang adjusted the camera she had borrowed from Yuna, focusing on Yabao.

Yabao, now wearing the new sunglasses, struck confident poses.

“Cool!” Qiao Sang praised.

“Yap Yap!”

Encouraged, Yabao posed even more enthusiastically.

After nearly an hour of shooting, Qiao Sang was finally satisfied.

“Gang gang?”

Gangbao, who had been watching the shoot, finally spoke up in confusion.

What’s this for?

“It’s not a tool.” Qiao Sang explained while uploading the photos to StarNet.

“Gang gang?”

Gangbao looked even more puzzled.

Then… what was the point?

Qiao Sang thought for a moment, then smiled.

“It enhances your style. Makes you more charming, doesn’t it?”

Then, as if realizing something, she turned and added, “If you ever want any accessories, just tell me. I’ll get them for you.”

“Gang gang…”

Gangbao was even more confused now.

Accessories didn’t make you stronger, and they weren’t food.

But… she couldn’t deny that she didn’t hate the idea.
