Chapter 3441 - It Can't be You

Tianming was facing the toughest foe he’d had to date, far stronger than the seventh-level Yumo Fuyun. Suishen Yue had transformed into eight desolate worlds. Each strike from his sword seemed able to split continents!

With his power boosted, Suishen Yue's courage grew. He wasn't the least bit worried about the Mistrunner stealing the fruits of his labor. Faced with Tianming's abilities and Pentagram Sword Art, he had nothing but contempt for him. He charged toward Tianming with the might of a myriad mountains.

Suishen Yue used a fortuna-class sword art, Kingdom Foundation. His eightfold-simulacrum totem and the Kunlun Watcher attacked in unison, tearing apart the yin-yang essence storm that was in his way. The Kunlun Watcher's cosmic impulses and Suishen Yue's cosmoforce formed a huge sword projection.

Tianming's full-force Pentagram Sword Art was in fact Suishen Hongtian's signature move, containing the essence of mountains and earth, much like the aspect that Suishen Yue was most adept at.

The two strikes collided and boundless power exploded from the clash. While the Pentagram Sword Art was an incredibly refined technique, it simply didn't have enough raw power. Suishen Yue overwhelmed Tianming with brute force, knocking away his strike and piercing through Tianming's other abilities, like Infernal Shield, Ninefold Chaos Thunderscape, and so on.

Seeing Tianming sent flying off and bleeding, Suishen Yue laughed like a maniac. "Did you really think you could save her with me standing in your way?! I’ll unmask you and see who you really are!"

Suishen Yue had the power to match his arrogant demeanor. Even though Tianming had gotten the better of him time and again in Myriadpath Valley, it wasn't because he was stronger. Instead, it was down to his cultivation achievements. Suishen Yue at his current level was definitely no pushover!

Eminent Jiguang's hope began fading at the sight of Tianming faltering. Her heart was beating so fast it felt like it would jump out of her chest. If he couldn't even defeat Suishen Yue, her fate would remain unchanged once Suishen Hongtian returned!

"Do it... faster now! His dad... heard it... on the... way back!" Yin Chen said.

Tianming didn't have any time left; he was in a life-and-death situation! But he didn't panic and his gaze was as cool as frost. "Looks like I can't defeat Suishen Yue just by being the Mistrunner." He had to shift gears! Glaring at the arrogant Suishen Yue, Tianming said nary a word and immediately charged once more.

"Cover me with your abilities!" Tianming's four beasts launched a flurry of abilities, forming a dense storm that surged toward Suishen Yue, who didn't have the slightest hint of fear. He had tested the Mistrunner's limits and knew they fell short.

But something changed in that instant! Thousands of divine wonders in the shape of words suppressed his body in all kinds of ways, putting him in an abnormal state. His thoughts, movement, and cosmoforce circulation suddenly became difficult, as if there were countless chains all over his body!

He had researched Tianming's capabilities and knew without a doubt who had a divine wonder like that. His eyes widened with complete disbelief as his mind was blown apart.

As far as he was aware, even if Tianming had become a foundationeer, he would at most be able to fight on the third level. It would take at least a thousand years for him to catch up! He should still be cultivating in Myriadpath Valley, not in the Yin-Yang World!

His inability to accept the truth put him in a state of confusion. The only conclusion he could come to was that the Mistrunner was of the same race as Tianming, someone even more powerful than him. And if that was the case, it meant Tianming was a native of the Yin-Yang World himself! Suishen Yue’s disbelief had greatly affected his judgment.

Tianming opened his black left hand wide and used the power of the centuroptic beast to execute Vitasteal on Suishen Yue's totems! The hypereffectiveness of Vitasteal against vital origin totems in particular was how he had defeated Suishen Zhao!

It was a move that Suishen Yue had no understanding of, and therefore no countermeasure against. He lost all sensation in that moment as the most important of his totems—the one that was made from a sliver of his vita—fell into confusion. His mental state was greatly shaken!

"It can't be you!" Even then, he still didn't have the slightest bit of fear that he would be defeated. Vitasteal was only a technique to suppress a target, not a killing move.

However, Tianming roared and manifested his fivefold-simulacrum totems and used his second totemic calamity, Shattered Era, Cosmic Swordsurge! It was the ultimate move in his arsenal and had a cooldown of a few months to a year. He only used it in the most desperate of situations, and right now every single second counted!

It was a move that nobody had witnessed before. Suishen Yue couldn't possibly have predicted it. The decapath era godswords slammed together and exploded right in front of Suishen Yue, forming a sword projection that unleashed its full destructive might on his Vitasteal-compromised and wonder-suppressed body.

"Huh?" He blanked out. What kind of power is this? Did Li Tianming’s totems just explode? His stupefaction only lasted an instant before he was entirely enveloped by the vaporizing might of the decapath era godswords, annihilating his cosmic charts and body down to the last astron!

"Aaaaaagh!" Suishen Yue howled as his body and soul were reduced to nothing, echoing his fall from ultimate bliss to the most punishing of hells. All that he’d yearned for, all that he’d almost obtained, had been denied to him thanks to Tianming's appearance.

The magnificent blast of the totemic calamity scattered some of the purple mist that obscured Tianming. Even though Suishen Yue hadn't managed to see his face, he did notice his eyes, one with a black iris and the other with a gold one, as well as his black arm. "Li—"

His eyeballs burst out of his eye sockets from disbelief and were wiped away. There was no trace of his body left. Even though he had confirmed Tianming's identity, it only added to more suffering as he died. Tianming was the one who had ruined his plans for Suishen Yao and Eminent Jiguang. Every bit of ambition and pleasure that’d been lined up for him had been wiped away just like that!
