“I have no idea what she’s doing. I don’t like to meddle in succubus affairs. That’s not really my business, is it?”

Nika hadn’t returned to the academy when it was time to head back after the six-day school trip.

I considered reaching out to her, but I figured it wouldn’t be my place to meddle in the affairs of a succubus. She could handle things on her own. If something went wrong, she would come to me.

Though it's doubtful anything would go wrong that even a Succubus Queen wielding a magic sword couldn’t handle. There's really nothing that could threaten Nika right now.

Unless, of course, something on the level of Elysier—another magic sword wielder—emerged from the gates that constantly appear in the Demon Realm.

“I’ll have to punish her later for abandoning her duties as the master's maid and wandering around outside.”

Beatrice, while speaking of punishment, struggled to contain a smile that kept threatening to curl the corners of her mouth. It seemed she was enjoying having all the attention for herself while Nika was away.

“For a punishment, you seem pretty happy about it.”

I poked the corners of her mouth. Beatrice, startled, stepped back a few paces.@@novelbin@@

Even as the corners of her lips twitched upward every time she tried to stop them, I pointed it out, and she seemed to enjoy the attention so much that eventually, I ended up poking her cheeks every few seconds.

“...Master, you’ve become quite mischievous.”

Before long, a sulky gaze returned as she covered her mouth with her outstretched palm. If I were to lift it, I’d still see her lips smiling underneath.
