Brothel Manager : Unexpected Encounter with A Hidden Family Heirloom

Chapter 404 404: Dual Cultivation

"So, shall we discuss the pressing matters? Why was it so vital for me to see you?" Das's voice trembled ever so slightly, the unease manifesting in the quiver of his words.

There was a pause, a momentary stillness where the very air seemed to hold its breath. The blind seer cleared her throat, the sound a soft, fragile interruption to the dense silence. "I... I... want to execute a forbidden rite to decipher your destiny," she murmured, the hesitance in her voice stark against her usual confident demeanour.

Das's eyes widened in astonishment. The ethereal luminescence granted by his unique vision seemed even more radiant against the growing shadows of uncertainty. "What?! But... why? And...

what exactly is a forbidden ritual?" His words came out in a flurry, as if trying to catch up with the whirlwind of thoughts racing through his mind.

Eden's sister took a deep breath, each intake seeming to draw in the room's ambient energy. "Throughout the art of divination, myriad actions and karmas are undertaken. But some are labelled 'forbidden' because of the perilous consequences they bear. Often, these rites can risk the very life of the one performing them," she elucidated, her voice a melodic whisper that sent chills down Das's spine.

A prolonged silence enveloped them, with only the soft sounds of their synchronised breathing breaking the stillness. Eden's sister finally broke the silence, her voice laden with a mix of hope and anxiety. "So, tell me. Will you permit me to proceed with my request?"

"Wait... stop hurrying. Let me think," Das began, his voice riddled with confusion and doubt, yet there was an underlying firmness that demanded answers. As his gaze met hers, the intensity in his eyes was unmistakable. "First off all why are you so intent on deciphering my destiny?"

She paused for a moment, gathering her thoughts. The profound depths of her blind eyes seemed to hold countless secrets and knowledge. "It's imperative to foresee the challenges that may cross our path," she started, her voice soft yet assertive.

"A few days back, visions filled my mind, whispering of a great war amongst the hidden families. An event of such magnitude that it threatens to shake the very foundations of our world. I need to discern your role in this impending chaos."

But Das did not believe her words a single bit. He already understood that she wants to whether he can take revenge for them against the Taurus family. But he already promised them that. So, he did not felt offended by her schemes. As her words sunk in, a myriad of thoughts coursed through Das's mind.

"If that's the case, why do you need my agreement? Do I have to play some active role in this ritual?" he inquired, seeking clarity.

"No," came her crisp reply, the terseness of it catching Das off guard.

His eyebrows furrowed, a mix of frustration and bewilderment painting his face. "Then why the elaborate setup? Why drag me all the way here when a simple call would suffice?" He probed, the edges of his voice sharpening with suspicion.

But even before she could muster a reply, an insight flashed across Das's mind. He held up his words, signalling her to wait.

"There's something else, isn't there? You've never been one to seek permission from others. Your actions have always spoken louder. What's the real game here?" His words were a challenge, a confrontation.

The ambient dimness of the room seemed to grow heavier, absorbing the weight of their exchanged words. The faint violet light from the extinguished lamp played tricks on the walls, casting hazy, flickering shadows that mirrored the tension and suspense in the air.

With a heavy sigh, Eden's blind sister leaned back slightly, her usually poised demeanour showing the slightest signs of weariness. "I had hoped Eden would've explained," she began, her tone softer, more introspective. "It appears she left out some crucial details."

Das's brow furrowed, his eyes narrowing, "And what might those be?" he pressed, anticipation palpable in his voice.

She took a moment, collecting her thoughts. "Reading one's fate isn't a task undertaken lightly. Especially yours," she paused, her voice heavy with import. "You're safeguarded by not one, but two mythical spirits. Your destiny intertwines with twin heirlooms of the hidden families. These cosmic entities will obstruct any attempts to delve into your fate.

They wield power enough to snuff out my life if I'm deemed a threat."

A mixture of disbelief and concern clouded Das's face. He interrupted, his voice carrying a protective edge, "Then why take such a perilous risk? Why not look into Eden's fate instead? She's as much involved in this as I am."

Eden's sister shook her head with a hint of a smile, a light chuckle escaping her lips. "It's not that simple, Das. While Eden plays her part, my instincts, honed over the years, tell me you're poised to be at the epicentre of this looming tempest. Glimpsing into her fate or another's would be akin to seeing but a single piece of a vast puzzle. You, Das, are the key.

Grasping your fate would grant a panoramic view of what the future holds."

Das leaned back, processing her words, the gravity of the situation sinking in. His role in the impending events became undeniably clear. Taking a deep breath, he finally responded, resignation tinging his voice, "Alright. What's the next step? What should I do"

"What I wanted to do is entangle my fate with you. Fate ritual is a dangerous one, many people even died during this process of divination. Even that old lady witch in the Taurus family household will fear doing a fate ritual." Eden's sister said with a heavy tone as she remembered the most hated person of her life.

"Whose is that old witch…?" Das asked with a curious glance.

"The old matriarch of Taurus family household. She is the one who performs divination rituals for the Taurus family." Eden's sister replied seriously.

"It seems you hate her a lot." Das said in a meaningful tone.

"Hmmhh... if fate permits, I will kill that lady with my own hands. She is the one reason for the death of my mother and blindness of me and poor fate of my sister."

"Based on her words, the old patriarch of the Taurus family murdered my mother who is a daughter-in-law for him. And his grand-daughters, that is me and Eden ended up like this." Eden's sister said angrily with an anguished face.

Das immediately understood what happened. That old matriarch of Taurus family divined that Eden and her sister will cause the downfall of Taurus family and to protect their household, the Taurus family patriarch did all this.

But, sadly, no one can escape fate.

"So, tell me. How do you entangle your fate with me. Is there a ritual for that?" Das asked with a big sigh as he finally understood why these two sister hate the Taurus family so much.

Eden's sister, hesitated to speak about it. But after a some time, she extended her right hand before Das, gesturing him to hold it. Without thinking much Das placed his hand on top of hers.

"Das, what do you think about me?" She asked while facing him directly. Even though she couldn't see, Das felt like she is staring at him with an intent.

Das got perplexed after hearing her question. He did not understand what to reply her.

"If I speak truth, I never thought much about your character. But What I know is, you care a lot about your sister and the revenge against taurus family. More than...." Das stopped in the middle as she interrupted him.

"I'm not asking that. What do you think about me as a woman? you already saw me naked. So, tell me, am I ugly and not up to your taste?" Eden's asked in a firm tone as she awaited his response.

"What the hell?!!!!" Das felt blasted after hearing her. Several thoughts were racing inside his brain. For a second, he did understood what she is plotting. But he couldn't speak his mind as he don't want to act like a monster.

"Das, speak directly. I won't get offended. I already know no one will like a blind girl. I never know what I'm like outside. So, tell me honestly." Eden's sister asked again with a serious face.

"You may don't know, I'm already in love with your sister. We both are already entangled together and….." before Das could finish she interrupted him.

"I know about that. My sister already told me everything and my sister won't have any objections in our matter."

"So, tell me. What do you think about me?" She asked again.

"Ahhh... what the funk is going on?!!!! Thank god. At least I'm not pressed in sister's matter." Das thought internally. After thinking a bit, he finally decided to speak honestly.

"See, You are definitely not ugly. I personally think you are more beautiful than your sister. Das replied directly.

"But before speaking more, I really want to know the real reason for you in asking me all this." Das asked in a stern tone. Explore more adventures at My Virtual Library Empire

"Dual Cultivation"

Eden's blind sister muttered something completely unexpected thing.

(I'm not turning this boon into cultivation novel. So, don't expect much. It is just a ritual to bond fate.)
