Chapter 1155: Chapter 1055: Space city?!

Doctor Xu Shenghan’s oxygen deprivation was severe.

His sight darkened significantly, with only faint clarity straight ahead.

It felt like hallucinations have started to distort his vision with everything swelling and shrinking, even the stars seemed to sway chaotically.

After being expelled from the space station, he was left utterly disoriented, unable to grasp anything to anchor himself.

He wanted to sarcastically shout, “Where are the aliens?

...

Can’t someone come save me?”

But he was gasping shallowly now, without the strength to raise his voice.

Just when he thought he’d failed the mission, and was expecting death, an object of unusual size suddenly appeared in his slowly narrowing vision:

An artificial structure potentially hundreds or thousands of times larger than the Tiangong Space Station!

His head felt dizzy, and everything he saw started to blur.

However, the colossal space station, even distorted under the light, did not lessen the impact of its horrifying scale and surpassing design on Doctor Xu Shenghan!

Almost instinctively, he widened his eyes, trying to discern if it was an illusion.

But the symptoms of oxygen deprivation grew harsher, the space station in his vision became even more blurry as he strained his eyes on it.

Until—

BANG!

The back of his body harshly collided into a solar panel, causing him to tumble in the open space.

Doctor Xu Shenghan abruptly snapped back to awareness, his hands gripping desperately onto the solar panel.

As his body continued to travel backwards, he tore piece after piece from the solar panel.

His speed had barely decreased when the safety rope yanked him forcibly off the panel and back into space.

He turned his head, barely making out Glen as his teammate.

Glen had probably been seriously hit and was bouncing along the exterior of the space station like a pinball.

His speed remained constant.

After dragging Xu, he plunged headfirst into the opened grand parachute of the escape pod.

Xu Shenghan followed close behind him, plunging right into the parachute.

Now their last view was completely obscured, he could only vaguely feel some kind of resistance in the middle of his safety rope, altering his course.

Then suddenly, the safety rope around his waist ruptured, and the final connection between him and his teammate was severed.

When he rushed out of the parachute, there was no longer any obstruction in front of him.

“We’re finished!”

Xu Shenghan lamented.

But no sooner had he spoken than he felt his speed decreasing– something had snared his right leg!

Xu Shenghan looked down and saw that the chaotic parachute ropes had ensnared his right leg as he had passed through them.

But before he had time to feel relieved, Glen’s voice came through his headphones, “Give me your hand!”.

Xu Shenghan looked up to see that while he had been blind, Glen had somehow fallen behind him and was now reaching out for help.

Without hesitation, he stretched out his arm, “Hold on!”

The two hands made contact.

But a problem that had bothered Doctor Xu Shenghan while trying to repair the communication card occurred again– wearing a spacesuit, his fingers were like five short and thick small radishes, stiff and unresponsive.

Their hands touched each other, but neither could grip the other.

It looked like they had simply stretched out their arms for a high five, before continuing along their individual trajectories.

“Fucking hell!” Xu Shenghan cursed loudly.

But while his teammate was drifting away, a safety rope also floated past him.

“!!” Shenghan immediately tossed both hands at the rope, finally clasping it and halting his drifting teammate.

However, the very next moment, he himself was being dragged by Glen!

That’s when he remembered: he himself wasn’t stabilized.

His leg was attached by a few ropes, and at any time, he could be pulled into open space!

Moreover, he would be pulled very quickly!

“Bang!”

The ropes around his leg snapped one by one.

There were no noises in space, but hypnagogic sounds echoed in Xu Shenghan’s ears.

Just as he was about to be pulled into space by his teammate, to both die together!

“I should let go now.” Xu Shenghan instantly realized the hard fact.

But he couldn’t bring himself to do it!

Before he could waver any longer, he suddenly felt the safety rope go slack, and he was pulled back by the elastic parachute.

Xu Shenghan looked up in shock, only to see a calm-faced Glen Jeong spreading his arms and gradually drifting away.

He was clutching a released clip in his right hand.

——The moment Glen realized that he was going to pull his teammate into space, he quietly unclipped himself.

Without a hint of hesitation, or a word of complaint, he decisively gave up his own chance of salvation, leaving all hope of survival to his teammate.

Xu Shenghan… was deeply shaken.

This act, without any accompaniment of background music or long speeches, moved him far more than words could express!

Especially since, if Glen hadn’t tried to save him, his propulsion gas would have been enough for him alone to reach the space station!

“Bang!”

Xu Shenghan was pulled back by the elastic parachute, colliding with the space station.

Then he managed to grab hold of a metal rod in a flurry, securing himself at last.

At the same time, alarms were sounding all over his spacesuit.

His facemask blazed red with data signals.

Finally, Glen’s voice came in through his headphones, “Doctor Xu, can you hear me?”

Xu Shenghan, watching his teammate slowly recede into the backdrop of space, was at a loss for words.

Glen called out again, “Doctor Xu, can you hear my voice?”

“Yes.” Doctor Xu had a lot he wanted to say, but didn’t know how to put them into words.

Finally, he said, “My carbon dioxide alarm has set off.

The oxygen concentration has plummeted past the limit.”
