Chapter 870: Chapter 12 The Melianians Can Only Rely on Themselves Now_3
To represent this situation, the concept of organization level would be used in later strategic games, where the attackers also deplete their organization level and need time to regroup for recovery.
Pavlov: “Such a massive force, spanning four hundred and fifty kilometers! Four hundred and fifty kilometers! Even if our warriors were made of iron, they still need to stop and rest! Even if Saint Andrew himself miraculously appeared, we’d still need to rest!”
Vasily whispered a reminder: “It’s four hundred and eighty-five kilometers, and we averaged thirty kilometers before breaking through the enemy lines and advancing onto Melania’s territory.”
Pavlov: “Four hundred and eighty-five kilometers! Thank you!”
Amelia’s voice suddenly appeared: “Perhaps the Allied Forces can land in Melania? Or parachute in? Just as long as you can hold on until you finish regrouping and push westwards again.”
Wang Zhong: “Amelia? When did you arrive?”
“I’ve been here, it seems the liaison officer is distracted today, when I asked, I found out that the messenger from Melania has arrived, the liaison officer seems to—”
Wang Zhong: “Seems to hope that we advance west?”
“I believe so.” Amelia nodded, “That’s a bad idea, right?”
“Yes, this idea might allow Prosen to preserve at least a million fresh troops.”
Amelia let out an “oh”: “Then your advance will slow, giving the Allied Forces a chance.”
Wang Zhong: “Yes.”
Amelia sighed: “Then it seems the Allied Forces can’t save the Melanians either.”
Pavlov: “There is another way, we can pull out the Melania People’s Army and the auxiliary units reinforced for them, and head west. This way, the forces advancing north will reduce by two hundred thousand, and we can find a way to make up for it—”
“No, are you expecting two hundred thousand to liberate Melania’s capital? It’s impossible, it will only lead to the needless sacrifice of Melania People’s Army warriors.”
Wang Zhong pulled out a chair and sat down, tapping his fingers on the table, looking serious: “The Melanians can only rely on themselves. At least until September.”

Helman wielded the extremely hot Sten Submachine Gun, firing at the Prosen defenders on the street.
He had fired less than ten rounds when the gunfire abruptly stopped.
Helman looked down to see a brass shell casing jammed in the ejection port.
He quickly retreated into cover and forcefully yanked the bolt handle. The first attempt didn’t budge it, but on the second, he pulled the bolt all the way back, and the casing fell to the ground.
Helman reset the bolt, loaded a new bullet, and leaned out to fire again.
In the gap of firepower, a Prosen was trying to advance, only to be shot head-on by a burst of bullets, falling in the middle.
It had just rained, and the road was filled with puddles, the Prosen fell next to the water, with bright red spreading from his spot across the puddle.
As Helman retreated into cover to change the magazine, someone ran over to shout:
“Helman! Tank!”
“Prepare the Molotov cocktails!”
“Helman, we stole Prosen’s new weapons from the armory, seems they are imitating the Anteans’ new weapon.”
The speaker came over carrying a rocket launcher.
Helman glanced at the object in his hand: “Be careful, Prosen’s new weapons are always complicated, even well-trained Prosen soldiers struggle with them.”
“Don’t worry, this one is definitely simple, you see this spot is the electric spark plug, pulling the trigger makes a spark, and the rocket whooshes off! You aim using this simple sight here.”
At that moment, the engine noise grew louder, and the walls started vibrating to the clatter of the gearbox.
The windowpanes resonated to a sound that sent shivers down one’s spine.
The tank’s turn made a sound like scraping a pot with an iron spoon.
Helman: “Get ready, let’s see if the new toy works. If it doesn’t, we’ll use incendiary bottles.”
“Already prepared.” The lady of the house climbed upstairs carrying a crate of incendiary bottles, “Throw as much as you like! If we throw them all, my husband won’t have any left to drink, which might just save his life!”
“We’ll keep one bottle, that would be saving his life!” a guerrilla fighter quipped.
Everyone burst into laughter.
The lookout shouted loudly: “Tank!”
Helman immediately went to the window to look outside, surely seeing a new heavy tank with a long turret turning at the street corner.
“Come here!” he beckoned to the person holding Prosen’s new weapon, “This spot can see right on top of the tank’s turret, give it a shot!”
The shooter came over, carrying the rocket launcher: “Please step aside, you can’t stand behind the rocket launcher, I’ve personally seen during Prosen’s training with this thing, someone stood behind it and was immediately severely burned, didn’t survive long.”
Helman quickly moved aside and peered from behind another window.
The events transpired in an instant; the rocket left a clear trail, hitting the tank’s top turret cover.
After the explosion, flames shot out of the tank turret’s open hatch, and the Prosen Tanker scurried out of the tank, rolling on the ground like a rat with its tail on fire.
However, the infantry accompanying the tank quickly spotted the rocket launch position, bullets stormed in.
The rocket-shooter clutched his chest and, with the rocket launcher, fell out of the window and to the ground below.
Resistance fighters fired back desperately, sparks flying down the street.
A hand grenade, thrown by someone unknown, landed amidst the enemies, and after the explosion, three Prosens fell.
Helman emptied another magazine and shouted loudly: “Retreat! Quickly retreat!”
Just as he finished speaking, a grenade launcher round flew through the window behind him.
He dove and tackled two guerrilla fighters to the ground.
The grenade exploded, shattering every glass item in the room into pieces.
Helman got up and pulled up the guerrilla fighters he had just saved: “Move quickly! Landlady, you too, everyone move! The Prosens won’t spare any living things in this house! Out through the gap in the house!”
The group quickly retreated through an opening between the houses.
As soon as everyone was through, a type of Prosen vehicle nobody had seen before appeared.
The vehicle had a main cannon as thick as a wash basin, surrounded by a ring of small exhaust holes.
The tank aimed at the building Helman had been in.
In the next moment, a bright Nova ascended slowly into the sky, before gently descending onto the building.
An explosion followed, and the three-story building was immediately engulfed in light.
What do you think?
