Chapter 1719 The Final Stage (Part 1)
...…
Boom!
The battle between Cloe and Melania escalated to the point that it started to destroy the surroundings. They further razed the already devastated ruins to the ground for each exchange of spells they made.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Given the commotion that they were making, the surrounding Corrupted Monsters and Players were attracted to this place. Each explosion of the spell was huge enough to attract everyone and rush over the direction of the battle.
The Plague Monsters and Players patrolling the area were also attracted by the huge destruction that they were making, gathering at the place where they were fighting.
The entire place was swamped with enemies, making Cloe somewhat nervous. But none of them dared to take part in the battle due to two reasons.
Aside from the scale of the battle being huge enough to kill those with weaker fighting capabilities who would dare to join the battle, Melania had also warned everyone not to partake in the battle fun as she would be the one to kill them first once her fun was ruined.
The Corrupted Players, who came with her, knew the temper of their leader very well. She slaughtered everyone if they dared to join the battle, which was why they could only watch the battle from the distance while preventing the Corrupted Monsters accompanying them from jumping in.
As for the Plague Players, they were in a somewhat awkward position. They did not know Melania, which was why they did not take her words to heart. But their role was to protect the ruins, so they could not just let these two wreak even more havoc.
However, they also could not just recklessly join the battle after seeing that the representatives of the Corrupted Cult were not doing anything.
They were also quite scared of the crazy black witch, who was currently enjoying the battle against the Gentle Goddess.
They could only wait for their superiors – Magnolia and Berdugo – to arrive before making their decision.
Unfortunately, they were all summoned by the two not long after. The forces of the Righteous Church had already reached the vicinity of the ancient ruins, making them forget about this ongoing battle and head over to the battlefield to join their main forces.
They could only 'trust' this place to Melania, who was currently destroying the ancient ruins rather than protecting it.
Some of the Corrupted Players had also come along with them as they were also being summoned by the Elders of the Cult, who seemed to be preparing for the next stage of the war.
They had only left a handful of people, who were from the same unit as Melania, to guard the place and make sure that no more accidents could happen.
Unfortunately, before they could even organize themselves, those apex experts and godly experts hiding in the forest around the ruins had also made their moves.
They were taking advantage of the commotion created by Cloe and Melania's battle to sneak into the ruins and look for the tomb of the fallen king, planning to snatch the greatest achievement in the event by preventing this king from resurrecting.
But these guys had underestimated the forces on the side of the Plague Race.
The people that the Demonic Churches and Corrupted Cult had also started appearing one after another as of expecting these 'guests' to take advantage of the current chaos within the ruins.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Due to this, a series of clashes took place in every part of the ruins, making the situation even more chaotic.
...
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The battle between Cloe and Melania continued to escalate to an even higher level, almost reaching the point where they were using a spell with an even larger scale of destruction.
Your next journey awaits at My Virtual Library Empire
Melania was about to prepare for a very advanced spell when she suddenly a strong fluctuation of mana coming from underneath her feet alongside the intense vibration of the ground.
Without any hesitation, she cast a series of 'Blinks' to distance herself away from that location before turning her sharp gaze to another direction.
"Morax! What is the meaning of this!?" she asked full of madness, planning to slaughter the latter for interrupting her fun.
Morax, on the other hand, remained calm as she pointed in the direction where she was standing earlier. "What are you talking about? Don't I just save your life just now?"
Casting her gaze to the direction he was pointing at, Melania saw Shin, who was currently shrouded in a veil of shadow, holding the [Yamato] that was halfway from being unsheathed completely.
The stone spikes around Shin also exploded as he fully sheathed the sword back while maintaining a sharp glare at Melania.
The latter could not help but freeze due to the chill that she suddenly got from Shin, making her unable to say anything, much less do something about it.
It took her a while to regain herself before suddenly starting to yell at Shin. "Battle God Sickarius! I will slaughter you along with that b*tch!"
Shin was fine at first, but he suddenly tightened his grip over the hilt of his sword when he heard the latter part of her words.
"What did you just say?" his voice was so cold that it halted Melania once again, especially after sensing an overwhelming and suffocating pressure coming from Shin.
From her perspective, she saw huge images of five divine beasts behind Shin while glaring at her. They were emitting a powerful pressure that almost crushed her.
Her knees had also somewhat gone weak, but she still managed to remain standing with the help of her scepter.
Seeing something strange ongoing her, the corrupted players that were watching earlier swiftly arrived on her side, protecting her from every direction.
But right after standing before Shin, they also could not help but grow a little weak due to the pressure coming from the five divine beasts behind the opposing side.
It might just be an illusion created by the pressure being emitted by their opponent, but it felt so real that it drenched their backs with sweat just by standing before him.
They were slowly being suffocated by the heavy pressure, making their vision somewhat blurry or even dark. But when they were about to pass out completely, all the pressure suddenly disappeared. Their vision also came back, throwing them in confusion.
Plop!
It did not take long before they find themselves falling on their butt due to how weak their knees were.
"What!?"
"What just happened!?"
"What was that!?"
"We are alive?"
"Did we just survive?"
They looked at each other confusedly before finding Melania still standing on her spot, sweating profusely. She was breathing heavily, making her ample bosom heaved up and down.
They were staring blankly in the air for quite a while before blood rushed toward her head, making her throw a pit due to anger. "Ahh!"
She shouted frustratedly after recalling the last moments just now.@@novelbin@@
Cloe just glanced in her direction before leaving with Shin after they saw Morax, along with his unit, had no intention of letting them touch the members of the Corrupted Cult.
"Arielle! I will make you pay for the humiliation sooner or later," she gritted her teeth before turning to Morax. "What's that about!? Why did you just let them leave just like that!?"
Morax just shrugged his shoulders as he responded. "Is this how you treat someone who just save?"
He paused for a moment, watching Melania prepare a spell, before continuing. "I've just made a deal with them earlier. But I lost, so I can't interfere with their business here in the ruins."
"But it is about saving some people from 'the same' side, then I can at least lend you some hand," he added before turning around. "I am living now since my business here is already 'done'. Take care of yourselves."
Swoosh!
He did not give Melania another as he left the place alongside his unit.
The Black Witch could only grit her teeth as she watched Morax leave. It took her quite a while to regain her composure before turning to her subordinates. "You, useless things! Go and look for the traces of those two! I will not stop until I crush that b*tch with my hands!"
Seeing her about to explode, the group of corrupted players quickly dispersed and swiftly scattered in every direction, planning to find Shin and Cloe's whereabouts.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
…
In the meantime, Shin and Cloe were currently standing before the huge ancient doors that Morax and his group were guarding earlier.
"We don't know what's beyond these doors, so we better be prepared for the worst," said Shin as he signaled Cloe to stand behind him.
At the same time, he had summoned Astaroth, ordering the Obsidian Guardian Spirit to open the ancient doors for them.
Astaroth was the most suitable for the role since he was the Elemental Spirit with the strongest defense among all his Reaper's Retainers. It was because if an ambush was waiting for them from the other side, he was the one to catch all the firepower first and protect the two behind.
Clank! Clank!
Engk~!
The huge doors quickly released an eerie sound as Astaroth pushed them and advanced.
Everything was fine at first, but Shin's eyes suddenly contracted in the very next second, shouting at Astaroth before them. "Crap! Metallic Earthen Wall, NOW!"
Swoosh!
Right after his words rang out, an intense head suddenly erupted from inside the tomb hall and swept at them.
BOOM!
...…
What do you think?
