Chapter 62: Chapter 62 Together Turn Ten

The fourth-grade National Day holiday was upon us, and Mengmeng and Gu Zhihan were turning ten years old.

Since both were born at the same time, the two families decided that they should celebrate their tenth birthdays together this year.

Before the holiday, Mengmeng repeatedly reminded her two mischievous friends, “Hey, hey, Tong Mo, Lu Zichen buddy, remember to come to my house on October 5th for my and my husband’s birthday banquet. You must bring gifts, and if you really can’t make it, don’t forget to mail the presents to us!”

“Then we won’t end our friendship, we remain good friends!” replied Mengmeng immediately, grinning from ear to ear, and after hearing the bell for class to end, quickly trotted after Gu Zhihan, bouncing home merrily.

When she reached the classroom door, she seemed to remember something, quickly turned her head back to her two mischievous friends, and added, “Don’t just remember to bring me a present, don’t forget about my husband’s share!”

The day before their birthday, Mengmeng was so excited she couldn’t sleep. In the wee hours of the morning, while the sky was still dark, she wriggled out from under the covers, rubbing her eyes and looking at Gu Zhihan beside her.

“Husband, get up quickly, shall we go to the mall today? I’ll pick out a birthday present for you, and you pick out one for me, and we’ll exchange them on our birthday!”

“Get off!” Gu Zhihan almost felt like he was being crushed, and finally opened his dark eyes, his handsome face alternating between shades of anger and embarrassment.

“I will not!” Mengmeng stubbornly made a scene, undeterred by his sternness and refusing to get off him, “Unless you accompany me to the mall to buy gifts!”

Gu Zhihan’s face turned utterly dark.

“Even if we go to the mall, could you at least check what time it is now, whether the mall is open?” Finally reaching his limit, he lifted the little girl from his body and picked up the alarm clock, placing it in front of her eyes.

“Umm, let me see.” Mengmeng turned to look at the alarm clock on the bedside table as he suggested, and was startled by what she saw, “How is it only 3:30 in the middle of the night?”

She thought it was already around five or six in the morning.
