Chapter 65: Is This a Wedding or a Birthday?
Chapter 65: Chapter 65: Is This a Wedding or a Birthday?
Gu Zhihan was gently leading Mengmeng by the arm, walking up the red carpet, and slowly passing through the archway.
As they entered, someone holding a flower basket scattered petals towards them.
Pink petals fluttered, twirling in the air, gently landing on the shoulders of the two.
Mengmeng couldn’t help but catch one, blinked her clear eyes twice, and then immediately said to Gu Zhihan, “Husband, why do I feel like I’m not celebrating my birthday, but rather getting married to you?”
After all, the scene looked exactly like a wedding scene from a drama she had seen. @@novelbin@@
“Shut up.”
Gu Zhihan scolded softly, his ears secretly turning red.
This totally looks like a wedding scene!
It wasn’t just them who thought it looked like a wedding scene; Tong Mo and Lu Zichen in the guest seats felt the same.
“Tell me, are they getting married today or is it a birthday?”
“Maybe it’s both a wedding and a birthday?” Lu Zichen said with a puzzled face, scratching his head—he wasn’t quite sure either.
But he thought that Mengmeng was really beautiful today, even more beautiful than a princess, only Gu Zhihan was somewhat of an eyesore.
Anyway, he found it uncomfortable no matter how he looked at it.
By then, Gu Zhihan and Mengmeng had reached the end of the red carpet and were standing next to the host of the birthday banquet.
“Today, we are at the wedding venue of Mr. Gu Zhihan and Miss Luo Mengmeng, welcome dear guests…” said the host with the microphone, his voice enthusiastic and spitting.
“Uh… wedding venue?”
Hearing these four words, the guests below were all stunned; each could fit an egg in their mouth.
Though the scene did look a lot like a wedding, it really wasn’t!
“Is there any problem?” The host, slightly bewildered by everyone’s reaction, clearly hadn’t realized he had misspoken.
“It’s a birthday, not a wedding!” Gu Zhihan said with a dark face, squeezing the words through his teeth.
What kind of host was this, completely unreliable. He and Mengmeng were only ten years old, one could figure with their toes—it couldn’t possibly be a wedding!
Yet he had somehow turned it into one!
“Hahaha, right, birthday, birthday, my mistake!” After being reminded, the host then realized and chuckled awkwardly before recovering his composure and continued passionately, “…do you know, by my side, this pair, cough, these kids, were born on the same day in 1999, at the exact same second, coming into this world and today celebrating their tenth birthday together, ah, what a wonderful fate, ah, this is…”
Blah blah blah.
Standing on the stage, Gu Zhihan felt as awkward as if standing on needles, embarrassed to the point of wanting to find a hole to crawl into.
Mengmeng, on the other hand, was smiling radiantly, deeply feeling that she and her husband were truly made for each other.
Otherwise, how many people have you seen born at the same time?
Okay, even if you’ve seen that, have you also seen people who were engaged as toddlers, whose families lived together, whose parents were great friends, who went to the same kindergarten, the same elementary school, were in the same class and even desk mates, and were born on the same year, month, day, and exact second?
If you’ve seen all that, then I must also tell you, in the days to come, they are also meant to always be together!
Have you seen that too?
…
On the stage, the host finally finished his lengthy monologue, leaving only the last part, “Finally, let’s have our new couple exchange rings, cough cough, exchange birthday gifts!”
What do you think?
