Chronicles of Forgotten Extra

Chapter 143: Power of a Shut In?

Everything turned dark.

Just like my future.

Alden thought.

Just then a bright light assaulted his eyes. Thankfully he closed his eyes soon so it didn't damage him.

Only after a few seconds did he open them again.

That too, very slowly.

He expected to be back in his room.

But instead.

He was somewhere else. A dark empty space.

Where the hell am I now?

Did that damn monkey mess with my teleportation?

But why was he angry in the first place?

Did he really get offended by my dance so much?

Okay, maybe that's fair.

I'd kill someone too if they did that to me… assuming they weren't stronger.

Enough chit-chat.

Now we focus on where we are.

He looked around himself. Trying to make sense of where he was.

But nothing was in sight except some rugged mountains.

Just then–

Alden heard a low sound of metal.

Alden wasn't stupid enough to go in the direction of some mysterious sound.

So he was going to ignore it.

Or that is what others would have thought.

But Alden had watched enough horror movies to know that those who stay in one place being afraid of some sound are the first ones to die.

So he decided to follow the sound.

Hmm, is it coming from that direction?

He walked in that direction step by step.

In a few minutes, he had arrived in front of a mountain.

There was no one there.

Now that's strange. Or not so strange.

All horror films follow this script.

Have I been pulled into a horror movie now?

Just when Alden turned around to leave.

A voice came.

"Why are you so impatient? At least check thoroughly before leaving." A friendly voice came from somewhere.

Alden tried to pinpoint the voice.

"I'm here behind the mountain." The voice came again. "Don't worry; I'm definitely not a suspicious guy ~ huehue."

It was now accompanied by a suspicious laughter.

Definitely not suspicious, my a$s.

Still, Alden decided to at least check it out.

For some reason he was confident that nothing would happen to him.

He was sure the system wouldn't have teleported him here without a reason.

He walked towards the backside of the mountain.

As soon as he arrived, a ridiculous sight greeted him.

A handsome man with long, flowing white hair was kneeling on the ground.

His whole body was bound by chains, and his abyssal black eyes flashed with amusement.

Damn it…

As soon as he saw the man, Alden understood who he was.

The Demon King.

But something else surprised him even more.

Why the hell am I in Umbra?

Alden was panicked, but he tried to keep his face as calm as possible. But he unconsciously took a step back at that moment due to shock.

"Are you panicking? Do you know me or something?" The demon king asked in a curious voice.

"No." Alden didn't answer much.

His mind was racing at the moment.

"No need to be so panicked; I won't eat you or anything." The demon king smirked.

"See, I am sealed; I can't even move my body from here."

He tried to move his body but was restricted by the chains. They shimmered with runes Alden didn't recognise.

"I just wanted to have a chat with the third supreme."

As soon as those words left his mouth, Alden's body froze.

Wh–what?

His mind short-circuited.

How the hell did he know?

"How?" The question escaped his mouth unconsciously.

"Well, I made a small deal with the system." The demon king answered.

"Although that damned system doesn't usually like some outsider interfering, it likes fair trades."

"So I just had a fair deal with it."

"I just wanted to meet the other two Supremes. But that damned system rejected my request."

"For some reason, it couldn't fetch the second supreme. So I just requested to meet you."

"It agreed… but hid all your details. I can't even see your face."

What the hell?

Deal with the system?

Is that even possible?

But thankfully it seems my face is hidden, so he won't know who I am.

The Demon King tilted his head. "You're awfully quiet for someone so important. Not even a hello?"

As soon as Alden understood he was protected by the system, his confidence increased.

"Who the fk are you? And why the hell should I even greet you, mfr?" Alden cursed like a street gangster.

Why should I give respect to some random powerhouse? Especially now that I am safe.

Bwahahahahahahah.

Witness the power of a shut-in, you ancient bastard.

The Demon King blinked, then grinned.

"That's some spicy language," he said. "Are you sure you can handle the consequences?"

The demon king released some aura to intimidate Alden, but it never reached Alden.

It was stopped cold, midair, by a divine restriction.

Seeing this, Alden's confidence increased even more.

"Are you sure you can handle the consequences of talking like that to me?" Alden frowned. "I'm leaving."

"Rude," the demon king pouted like a kid. "Here I am, sealed away for aeons, and the first guest I get in centuries is someone like you."

Alden didn't respond. He just turned to walk away, but the Demon King's voice came again.

"Ah, not so fast, my guy. You can't leave yet."

Alden stopped mid-step. "What the hell do you mean?"

"I paid for fifteen minutes of chat time," the Demon King said casually. "And I fully intend to get my money's worth."

"You won't be able to leave this space until you chat with me for five minutes."

True to his words, a system window popped up in front of Alden.

[ Time – 14:30 Remaining ]

[USER WILL BE SAFELY TELEPORTED ONCE THE TIME IS UP.]

Well, whatever, just let's get this over with.

"So who the fk are you again?" Alden asked, keeping his voice as disrespectful as before.

"Can't you talk normally?" The demon king muttered.

"Well, you can always ask the system to send me back and ask for a refund." Alden replied smugly.

"Well, whatever. Let me introduce myself."

"I'm—
