Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 1621 1621: Ancient Colosseum

Travelling peacefully through the spatial passage, Xuan Hao kept an eye out for any abnormalities in case another spatial storm popped up along his path. After all, even though he had just made it through one spatial storm, he couldn't be certain that another wouldn't pop up to block his path.

Luckily, he didn't end up encountering a second spatial storm and managed to reach the other side of the spatial passage without any problem. Finding himself standing at the entrance to a ridiculously enormous ancient colosseum stretching several kilometers into the air. Piercing through the clouds drifting by above. Making it impossible for him to gauge the true height of the colosseum.

Not just that but looking at the entrance leading inside the colosseum that was similarly oversized like it had been designed for giants instead of normal humans, Xuan Hao could not help wondering if he would have to face some kind of guardian like he had done in past celestial trials… And if this guardian just so happened to be a giant of some kind.

After all, when he tried to step back into the similarly oversized ancient city that was built around the colosseum, he realized that he was unable to move more than a few meters away from the path leading inside the colosseum.

Given that he was working with limited time, this kind of arrangement where he didn't have to search for the guardian or complete some kind of other objective was just what he wanted.

If all the remaining celestial trials were this simple to complete, he might be able to complete all of them before returning to the Tower of Secrets for the information on reaching the Peak of the Dao Domain Lord Realm.

Although…

[Main Quest: The Ten Celestial Trials]

[Description: Having gained the celestial compass, you can now track down the remaining celestial trials inside the mystic realm. Complete all the celestial trials.]

[Celestial Trials Completed: 4/10]

[Reward: Increase comprehension of the Dao of Space, ???]

Looking through the main quest that had pretty much been left to gather dust since his last visit to the mystic realm, he felt doubtful that he would be able to complete all six remaining celestial trials in the little time he had left before he ran out of time to complete his breakthrough to the Peak of the Dao Domain Lord Realm.

After all, defeating the guardians of the celestial trials or completing the tasks given by the trials would undoubtedly be an exhausting endeavor… And recovering would also take time. Jumping from one celestial trial to the next was simply not an option.

For one, the reason why he was currently just standing in front of the entrance to the colosseum instead of rushing inside to complete the trial as fast as possible was because he was still in the process of recovering from the minor spatial storm, he had fought his way through earlier.

No matter how easy it might have seemed for him to escape the spatial storm, it had been an incredibly exhausting endeavor and even with his seemingly endless reserves of qi, he needed some time to recover from the last clash between his dao domain and the chaotic spatial energies of the spatial storm.

Even then, he didn't waste his time as he recovered his qi. Instead, taking the opportunity to observe his surroundings and take in the ancient city around him.

The ancient city itself might be dead with not a living soul in sight, but the formation symbols that were hidden beneath the surface of most of the buildings were useful in increasing his comprehension of the Dao of Formations, while the ancient language that appeared across the ancient city helped further his understanding of the ancient language that had been used in the past.

The only real issue he ran into being the fact that the ancient language present in the ancient city surrounding the colosseum was of a far older variety than the one he had grown used to. Making it far harder for him to understand, though… With his current foundation in the ancient language, he did manage to understand some ancient words throughout the ancient city.

For one, he recognized a particular building as some kind of shop for alchemical products and another for artifacts. All these shops were centered around the colosseum. Showing that it likely served as an important location for those who once lived in the ancient city to gather.

Then again… It wasn't that much of a revelation considering the sheer size of the colosseum itself.

Instead of that, the thing that Xuan Hao was far more curious about were the inhabitants of this ancient city, as he had never heard about any giant race that would have lived in this kind of city before. Even ancient records showed no mention of the giants that should have lived in this ancient city in the past when it had still been around.

From the looks of it, the only trace that remained of this race of giants was the copy of their ancient city stored in trails of the celestial gate that he found himself inside of.

Any other traces of these giants had been thoroughly erased, or at the very least didn't exist on the Ewaria Continent.

"Maybe I will find out more after completing the trial?" Muttering this to himself as he focused his attention on the massive entrance leading inside the colosseum, Xuan Hao felt a sense of curiosity that he hadn't felt in some time.

Feeling inherently curious about the giants of the city, also wanting to hopefully see them for himself. Even if it was in the form of a trial guardian.

And feeling that his qi reserves had recovered back to normal levels, he didn't waste any more time lingering around at the entrance of the colosseum and directly rushed inside. Ready to face whatever challenge the celestial trial might throw at him. Even if that challenge ended up not being a guardian like he was expecting…
