Cultivation Struggles of a Lowly Fox

Chapter 365 – Hiring New Workers

Chapter 365 – Hiring New Workers

"Oh! Mei, when did you descend?" Ming Xiuying smiled happily.

She was a cheerful girl with long black hair. Her jade skin was appealing to all Immortals, and her slim body caused uproars all around. She had a bosom similar to previous Mei, but her eyebrows were sharp like two knives. She was not adorned with any jewellery, but her beauty still shined brightly.

Meanwhile, Old Ming was your average grandpa, one could even wonder how he was able to get someone as beautiful as Ming Xiuying. His hair was already white, and his expression was that of an aged, scarred man.

Their clothes matched with white and light-blue colours.

"I don't remember us being so close?" Mei tilted her head.

"Because you were a stuck-up bitch previously." Ming Xiuying laughed. "You are more normal now. Do you feel better?" She was happy that Mei acted normal once again.

"..." Mei didn't know what to tell her, but she didn't feel worse than she did before. "Why have you not ascended yet?"

"Haha." Ming Xiuying smiled bitter-sweetly. "I'm sick and my Cultivation got stuck."

"Oh..." Mei nodded gently. She didn't expect her to get sick.

Aiko rested her head on Mei's arm and squinted her eyes. She couldn't find what was wrong with this girl.

"It's nothing bad. I'm still strong and my companion will work with you." Ming Xiuying chuckled.

"What?" Old Ming blinked a few times.

"You need to go out and see the world and experience more things so that your cultivation can progress." Ming Xiuying knew that he lied about not wanting to get back, but that was for her sake. So now it was her turn to kick him out of here so that he wouldn't die miserably with her.

"I didn't expect you two to be together." Mei was surprised that they were together.

"You... knew about it." Ming Xiuying awkwardly scratched her cheek.

"...?" Mei was confused.

"You were running around so much that you ignored everything around you." Ming Xiuying sighed. "But I'm glad that you are now living in the present." She nodded gently and glanced at Aiko.

Aiko angrily snipped her ears at her.

Ming Xiuying chuckled again. "Thank you." She thanked the little Fox for that.

"???" Aiko was confused as to why she was being thanked. In her mind, this girl became a stranger by the minute.

"I'm being seen as a weirdo..." Ming Xiuying sighed, but then she laughed. This little Fox didn't do things normally, so it was only natural that Mei would have problems handling her.

In turn that allowed her to snap from her stupor-

"I have died in the Immortal World." Mei calmly sipped her tea.

This time, not just Ming Xiuying but everyone else stiffened. Jun even started choking on his tea. He never saw Immortal, yet one was right in front of him!? How ridiculous is that?!

"I'm sorry." Ming Xiuying felt embarrassed about how she talked with Mei. She didn't expect that Mei would crash from the Immortal World- 'No, wait. Something is wrong.' She narrowed her eyes.

"How did you retain your memories?" Ming Xiuying thought that this was a very important part.

"I think they used the sealed 'dagger'." Mei was never sure about this part, so she didn't think about it much.

"What does it do?" Ming Xiuying was curious, but she also wanted to help Mei.

Mei opened her mouth to explain, but her whole body paused. "I see." She nodded to herself.

"What is it?" Ming Xiuying was dying of curiosity.

"Nothing, but I might know what happened now." Mei chuckled, fortunately, her stupid boy toy didn't target her Pearl.

"???" Now it was time for Ming Xiuying to be confused and she stared speechlessly at Mei.

"Oh, this little one is Aiko. That is Yuxi and Wanshu. That red one doesn't have a name, but we call her Blood Fox." Mei introduced everyone.

"This is my husband Ming, but you can call him how you like it." Ming Xiuying giggled. "I'm Ming Xiuying, but again, you can call me how you see fit." She was not picky, unlike the other Cultivators.

"Mei?" Aiko was confused about this exchange.

"She is a friend." Mei chuckled. It's been such a long time, so it must mean their lifespan is running out.

"I got a few Manuals that can help you cultivate." Mei smiled gently.

"It was about time to give us gifts." Ming Xiuying pretended to fume at Mei, but she was just a cute girl.

"How is she so young?" Aiko wanted to know the reason.

"There is the Youth Pill. It's hard to get since it's an 8th Grade Pill, but I was a prodigy, you know?" Ming Xiuying stuck out her small chest.

"You would get along." Aiko nodded, but Mei pulled her cheeks. "Auauauau."

"Now that I look at you..." Ming Xiuying tilted her head. She then looked at a certain part of Mei's body. "You have grown well- Auauauauau."

Ming Xiuying got the same treatment as Aiko.

"Seriously. What's up with everyone and their assessments." Mei was irritated.

"I also don't understand." Old Ming shook his head. "I liked it when they were smaller- Agh"

And yet another victim who couldn't read the room...

Aiko's ears twitched. She was quite happy she was not the only one who got this treatment.

"Why are you so happy?" Mei suddenly appeared behind Aiko.

Aiko jumped, trying to run away, but was smothered by Mei.

"So yeah, you two are coming with me." Mei nodded seriously.

Ming Xiuying who was giggling at their exchange suddenly froze.

"Me too?" She pointed at herself.

"Yeah, you too." Mei nodded mischievously. "You have to encourage your husband to work hard." Chuckling like a Devil, the deal was already sealed.

"I miss the previous Mei..." Ming Xiuying suddenly blurted out.
"Me too..." Old Ming agreed with her.

"What?" Mei threw a threatening glance at them.

""Nothing!"" The pair said in unison.

Aiko stared at them with some pity.

"You really need to socialize more." Aiko suddenly told Mei.

"What?" Mei threw another threatening glance, but this time towards Aiko.

"It's when you go around with others and try to talk- Auauauau." Aiko cried out as her face was squished once again.

"I have plenty of experience with socializing with others!" Mei proclaimed.

The pair stared at each other and once again in unison threw Mei a pity stare.

Mei's lips twitched. "You want to go another round?" She threatened them.

"I think I will. I'm still strong, you know." Ming Xiuying smiled mischievously.

Meanwhile, Aiko and Old Ming paused. One was listening while the other was shivering.

'She is not really sick...'
'She is not sick, not sick~'

'You are back!' Aiko smiled. She quite missed the strange duo from Darkness.

''Our apologies Princess.''

They said in unison, like they were bowing.

Old Ming had sweat all over his back. His energy was calmly circulating, but he was ready to attack at any moment. He was completely terrified of that presence.

'Don't call me that and tell me what you know.' Aiko was quite upset about being called like that.

'Allow me to explain. When Cultivators reach Foundation Establishment. Their ability to reproduce decreases sharply, so much so that they can die before having children. The higher in the Cultivation Scale of the Mortal World you go, the less chance for children you will have.'

The Darkness told the Princess some background, so that she would be able to explain better.

'Okay...?' Aiko did not understand what that meant.

'She is an incomplete vessel that will summon a #### Beast once she is too weak.'

The Darkness explained slowly.

'...' Aiko still couldn't understand shit.

The Darkness coughed awkwardly. 'It's in her belly. The thing that caused this 'sickness', if you can get to her when she is asleep we can take care of it.'

'Will she be safe?' Aiko really didn't want to engage with this plot.

'Yes.' The Darkness chuckled.

Aiko clicked her tongue. Since that girl was Mei's friend she would help out.

'The problem is Old Ming.' Aiko already noticed that he could also see the Darkness.

"Are you alright, dear?" Ming Xiuying was concerned when she saw his pale expression.

"I'm alright dear." Old Ming corrected his expression and reassured his partner.

"Are you sure? Should we rest for now?" Ming Xiuying was caring towards her husband, especially when she never saw him like this.

"This..." Old Ming didn't know how to explain this situation, but that was also not a bad idea.

If his wife went to have a rest, she should be more cheerful tomorrow.

Old Ming nodded gently. "Let's rest today, you can guide them tomorrow around the town." He smiled gently.

Aiko narrowed her eyes, but didn't say anything.

Ming Xiuying smiled happily. "I will guide you to your room, so please wait." She immediately stood up and guided her partner away.

He was protesting at first, but was quickly pacified by her and could only concede to her whims.

Mei chuckled gently, unaware of what just happened. She just believes that Old Ming was tired from their visit. Glancing at Aiko, she understood why.

"Why are you accusing me?" Aiko blurted out.

'Cursed Karma connection.' Mei clicked her tongue inside her mind. "I'm not cursing you." And denied everything with a straight face.

"You were definitely cursing me." Aiko narrowed her eyes, she was suspicious of Mei.

"I really didn't curse you." Mei had so many years to practise this Skill that she would be able to fool even Immortals!

"Bullshit!" Aiko was unconvinced, but she then changed tune. "I can help her, just keep Grandpa Ming busy for a bit." She suddenly said and Jun choked again.

Aiko's team were not surprised, unlike he who wasn't travelling with her constantly.

'Since when did she know medicine? No, to begin with, don't you need to touch them to know what's wrong with them??' Jun was really confused about what was happening around him.

His worldview was turned upside down the more he was with these bewitching Foxes.

'That's why the Master said that I shouldn't mingle with Foxes.' Jun sighed.

That was not the reason his Master said that, but this was also a good reason to keep away from them.

"Do you know something about it?" Mei narrowed her eyes. She was somewhat used to Aiko's ways.

"Yeah. I was told." Aiko nodded. "Something about an incomplete vessel and Beast or whatnot." Since she was Nightmare Aiko, she didn't really like to think too much about it. It could be solved, so it should be solved as soon as possible.

This time Mei couldn't hold it in and choked on her tea.

"What? Are you sure? Is it safe?" Mei was quite concerned about this whole situation.

"It is safe and can be dealt with, but I feel like Grandpa Ming would try to stop me." Aiko explained her reasoning.
