Chapter 121

When Jihon opened his eyes, it was already daytime.

Judging by the way the sun was setting, it was about four. After fully recovering from the effects of heat and finally coming to his senses, Jihong immediately realized that he was in trouble. Still, trying to stay calm, the first thing he did was check the date on his phone. As expected, not half a day passed, but two whole days. For a moment, his eyes darkened, but he gathered his courage and typed "emergency contraception" into the search engine. Ignoring the know-it-alls from the forums, he immediately went to the website of the gynecological clinic, studying the "Questions and Answers" section. After reading that taking the drug within 24 hours of contact guarantees 95% effectiveness, and within 48 hours - 80%, he furiously threw the phone aside and jumped out of bed.

As soon as he got up, his back hurt so much that he almost collapsed back, but he gritted his teeth and got up. Deciding to wash later, Jihon first of all began to change clothes. First he pulled on the top, then began to pull on his pants, but then his legs buckled, and he, losing his balance, plopped down on the floor. At the loud crash, Jaekyung burst into the room. Seeing Jihon sitting on the floor, he immediately ran up to him.

"What are you doing?" Are you hurt?

"No, it's all right.

When Jihong asked him for help, Jaekyung, pretending not to notice the outstretched hand, put his arm around his waist and lifted him up.

"Why did you change your clothes?"

"I'm going to the hospital.

Which made Jaekyung immediately tense up.

"Why?" Are you feeling bad?@@novelbin@@

"No, I need a prescription for contraceptives.

Jihon said this on purpose in a casual tone. But Jaekyung's face changed for a moment, and then let out a short sigh as if holding back his emotions.

"You don't need to take them.

With that, he led Jihon back to the bed. Jihon, confused, did not even have time to ask what he meant.

"I've already taken them.

"What...?"

For a moment, Jihon thought he had misheard.

"What do you mean 'you accepted them'?" What exactly?

– Contraceptives. GSDR or whatever they are called.

He must be talking about GDRS, Jihon thought. It was the most effective remedy for men available on the market. The mechanism of action was not hormones, but synthetic peptides that reduce sperm motility. The drug must be taken ten minutes before sexual intercourse.

"Did you really drink it?" Jihon asked, as if to make sure.

— Yes.

"That is, he drank before we...

"I told you yes. Jaekyung muttered, frowning as if asking how many more times he should repeat it.
Looking at his lover's displeased look, Jihong finally realized the reality of what was happening.

"Ha," Jihon breathed a sigh of relief. And collapsed on the bed, as if fainting. Then, suddenly realizing why Jaekyung had gone out that night, he stood up abruptly, "So you went to get it then?"

"Actually, I didn't go for contraceptives. Jaekyung replied, smoothing his bangs out of habit. "Initially, I went to get pills to suppress the rut.

— ... Were you going to drink something again?

Jihon, without noticing it, asked in a quiet, slightly depressed voice. Perhaps the tone was so anxious that even Jaekyung, which was rare, began to make excuses.

"I didn't. I just thought about it, but I didn't accept it.

"Are you sure?"

"Exactly," Jaekyung clicked his tongue. Then, sitting down on the edge of the bed, he added: "At the pharmacy, I explained everything and asked for medicine, but the pharmacist asked if I was an athlete and if I was already taking an antipheromone drug. I said that four days ago I had an injection, but it did not help. Then she replied that it was impossible. Regardless of whether the injection worked, its components are still in the body, and the remedy is so strong that it will put additional strain on the liver and kidneys. She just refused to sell it to me.

"That's right, you can't.

Jihon finally felt relieved. Probably, the pharmacist knew that Jaekyung was an athlete, and that's why she so persistently dissuaded him. Be that as it may, this is for the best. Jihon almost wanted to bow to this stranger.

"I insisted, said that everything was fine, but she still categorically refused. As a result, she generally advised me to go to another pharmacy. But at such a time, where will I find her? There is only one round-the-clock in the district. So, just in case, I bought a contraceptive.

"That's right...

Before Jihong could even praise him, Jaekyung continued, "And just in case, I also bought some medicine for you.

"What?" Did you buy emergency contraceptives?

When Jihong asked if they were sold at the pharmacy at all, Jaekyung replied with a frown, "Of course they don't.

"Therefore, on the advice of the pharmacist, I went to the nearest hospital, went to the admission department, filled out an application and received a prescription.

Jaekyung, wondering why he would make it so difficult to buy such an urgent medicine, grumbled, but Jihong was so amazed at how he tossed and turned that night that he didn't even think about any injustices.

"Well, I bought it for you, too." Jaekyung stopped in mid-sentence and fell silent. And then he looked up at Jihon and said, "You know that emergency contraceptives are bad for the body. After all, this is a highly concentrated hormonal agent. If you take it now, the next blood test may have poor readings.

"Well... anyway, there is no choice," Jihong said, sighing heavily.

"They say that you need to drink it within 24 hours. If you drink them later, it will be useless.

"That's true, but even if taken within 48 hours, the probability of preventing pregnancy is still 80%," Jihon retorted.

Which made Jaekyung suddenly calm down and looked at him carefully. Jihong, feeling uncomfortable, asked, "What is it?" Didn't you buy them especially for me when you ran to the emergency room at night?

"Yes, it is," Jaekyung admitted calmly. "But so much time has passed. Still, there is no point in undermining health. Especially since I've already taken it, so I don't think you need to.

GDRS achieved an efficiency of approximately 96%. It was even more reliable than emergency contraceptives. The effect of the drug turned out to be so strong that over time, frightening rumors began to circulate: as if it destroys the entire hormonal background or even makes a man infertile. This led to the fact that people began to refuse it, and in the domestic market, the drug was even on the verge of being discontinued. However, due to its reliability - the highest among all available oral contraceptives, as well as its ease of use (taken only once before sexual intercourse), it still continued to be bought in emergency cases.

If Jaekyung took it, then Jihong no longer needed to take emergency contraceptives. However...

"If we accept both, it will be twice as safe," Jihon reasoned aloud.

GDRS reduced sperm motility, preventing conception itself, and emergency contraceptives prevented the implantation of a fertilized egg. Therefore, according to his logic, both means together should have worked even more reliably - a kind of double insurance.

As he pondered, Jaekyung suddenly fell silent again. His expression suggested that he wanted to say something, but did not dare. Jihon could not stand it anymore and, grabbing him by the collar, blurted out:

"Hey, what's wrong with you, tell me already!" Jihon deliberately smiled so as not to create a tense atmosphere. "You bought me this drug yourself. So why are you silent now?

Jaekyung, remaining completely calm, quietly replied without even trying to remove Jihon's hands, "Hyung, you wanted to have a child, right?"

"What??? Jihong was so dumbfounded that he instinctively pushed Jaekyung. But immediately coming to his senses, he grabbed him and helped him to sit up, muttering:

"Are you crazy?" What makes you think so? I told you that I was not going to become a parent.

"Yes, that's what you said," Jaekyung muttered.

"Then why did you say that?" Jihon asked, surprised.

After a short pause, Jaekyung, as if doubtful, explained, "It's just... then you looked like you wanted to get pregnant.

"Then?" When exactly?.. Jihon began to ask, but hesitated, suddenly realizing what he meant.

All the words and deeds that Jihong had addressed to Jaekyong "then" flooded in at once, and his face instantly lit up. And Jihon silently covered it with his hands.

It was unbearable to remember that incident in his right mind - ashamed, embarrassing, he just wanted to disappear or at least lose consciousness. But this would not solve the problem, because sooner or later we would have to face reality again.

As a result, Jihon whispered barely audibly: "No... Absolutely not. What a person says during heat cannot be taken seriously.

"Indeed," Jaekyung replied indifferently. — I read on the Internet that at such moments you should never take words seriously. You'll only regret it later. The main thing is to provide reliable contraception.

But before Jihong could ask why he had brought up the subject, Jaekyung continued, "I just thought, what if you are sincere? What if it was your subconscious desires that manifested themselves?

Jihong had a rough idea of why Jaekyung might think so. He must have looked so desperate that it was impossible not to believe it. Even Jihong himself was confused for a moment and doubts crept into his head: "What if I want a child from Jaekyung? Maybe these are my real feelings?" So his bewilderment is quite understandable.

But...
"No, it's not," Jihong ran his hands over his face, as if trying to wipe away the remnants of embarrassment. No, it was definitely not true. Everything that happened then was just a game of hormones. His mind, overwhelmed by instincts, uttered words inspired by animal passion.

"Okay then," Jaekyung sighed briefly. "I was just worried that suddenly you really wanted a child, and I, in a hurry, drank a contraceptive, ruining everything.

"Come on, why would you?" Jihon laughed, barely restraining himself from embarrassment at this strange concern. "You did everything right. It's the best thing you've done in a year, seriously. Your act can be put on the same level as national achievements. Remember.

With deliberate exaggeration, Jihong patted Jaekyong on the head, grabbed his hand, and shook him slightly, as if in praise. He wanted to see Jaekyung's satisfied face, but Jaekyung remained serious. The guy did not respond with either gratitude or words of relief. Keeping a slightly thoughtful look, he just looked at Jihon carefully and then got to his feet.

"I'll bring the medicine," he said and left.
