Dawn of light - Reincarnated as a villain

Chapter 27: Sylvia Duskwood

Chapter 27 - Sylvia Duskwood

The girl stood paralyzed, her hands covered in blood gripping the ice dagger as she gazed at Zephyx in shock. His question pierced the silence like a knife, sharp and unexpected.

"W-What?" she stuttered, her voice shaking.

"I asked if you're a virgin," Zephyx repeated, his voice flat with no emotion, as if he were asking her about the weather. His mismatched eyes fixed on hers, unblinking and unreadable.

Her brain ran in circles as she attempted to grasp the context of what he was saying. "Was this a test?" Her thoughts turned in circles as she blushed slightly, having no idea what he was asking with the query. The notion crept up on her, a hushed doubt in her head "Does he want to do it with me?"

He had assisted her in getting her revenge, and if that was what he desired in return. "I...I won't stop him," she thought, though her heart pounded with anxiety.

"Y-Yes, I am," she finally whispered, her voice little more than a breath.

Zephyx's face didn't alter, but he nodded slightly. "Good. Then the next step is clear."

Drusilla did not even asked him, whether he was virgin or not, that's how much in trance she was is after consuming his blood. And if he was not virgin, today perhaps he would be wraith or ghoul instead of vampire.

He hunched forward, his face inches from hers, his mismatched eyes shining faintly in the dimness. The girl's breath was trapped in her throat, her blush growing deeper as her mind ran around in circles again. But his question cut through her reverie.

"Do you want to come with me, or would you prefer to be alone?" he asked, his tone cool but firm.

Her eyes widened in shock. She had not anticipated such a question. Her heart faltered. After the villagers' betrayal, she had vowed never to trust another soul again. But when she gazed into his radiant eyes, she felt an inexplicable tug—a strand of connection she could not help but acknowledge.

Perhaps... perhaps I can trust him, she thought uncertainly.

Weakly, she answered, her voice shaking, "Y-Yes, I want to join you."

"Then don't resist what's about to happen," he said, his voice steady as he leaned closer.

Before she could question his words, he opened his mouth and bit into her neck.

"W-What?" she stammered, her confusion turning to alarm as she felt his hands grip her shoulders. She gasped as Zephyx opened his mouth, revealing sharp fangs that sank into her neck.

Pain lanced through her, sharp and burning, but almost immediately, it was soothed by a strange, warm energy flowing through her veins. Her mind swam in confusion and fear, but his earlier words echoed in her head. Don't resist.

She closed her eyes and surrendered.

Moments later, an overwhelming surge of bloodlust erupted within her. It clawed at her mind, threatening to overwhelm her sanity. Her breathing grew erratic, and she fought against it instinctively, her body trembling. Then she remembered his words again. Don't fight back.

With a deep breath, she gave in to the sensation. Her fangs elongated, sharp and gleaming, and she instinctively leaned forward, sinking them into Zephyx's neck. She drank deeply, the rich, intoxicating taste of his blood filling her senses.

After a few moments, she regained control of herself and pulled away, her fangs retracting as she looked at him, confused and seeking answers.

But before she could speak, energy erupted within her body, engulfing her completely. Her eyes went blank, and for a moment, she looked as though she had died. Then, in an instant, she opened them again. Her light pink irises had transformed into a deep, mesmerizing crimson.

In Zephyx's mind, a notification rang out.

[Ding!]

[Hidden Quest Completed: Make your first Vampire companion.

Reward: Skill – Eternal Bond]

Zephyx's eyes narrowed slightly as he reviewed the unexpected message. His system, which had seemed so useless for so long, had finally issued a quest—and the reward intrigued him.

"Eternal Bond?" he murmured. "System, explain this skill."

[Eternal Bond – A skill that creates a permanent link between you and anyone who shares blood with you. This skill applies to all Vampires you create and can also bond with others if blood is exchanged.

1. Allows you to check the status of bonded individuals.

2. Enables telepathic communication with bonded individuals.

3. Bonded individuals will never betray the host.]

A faint smile crossed Zephyx's lips. This is a useful skill, he thought.

He turned to look at the girl, now his companion, and decided to test the skill. "Let's see what kind of person our villainess is."

A new panel materialized before him.

Zephyx studied the information carefully. Sylvia Duskwood....

She is the daughter of the patriarch of the Duskwood family, one of the four ducal houses of Valtheris. She had never known her father, learning of him only after he confronted her and recognized her by her pink hair, a trait she shared with her late mother. When her father claimed her as his daughter, he adored her deeply.

However, Sylvia's life became more complicated due to her stepsister, the heroine of the game. Jealousy had consumed Sylvia when Alaric, the supposed "child of destiny," chose her stepsister over her. This jealousy and extreme possessiveness for Alaricnled her down on the path of villainy.

Zephyx's gaze lingered on her race and bloodline. A Royal Vampire? Interesting. And this category... Netherspawn? I'll need to investigate further.

His smile grew larger as he viewed her bloodline. The Sin Bloodline. This was the reason he decided to assist her. The Sin Bloodline would enable her to awaken one of the seven deadly sins.

Within the game, she had awakened Wrath, so she was a very formidable foe to defeat. Without plot armor, the main character wouldn't have had any chance against her.

Zephyx then glanced at her locked trait, Battle Maniac. It suited her perfectly, considering her potential and personality.

---

Sylvia, on the other hand, gazed at Zephyx with a combination of awe and something darker. Her scarlet eyes blazed with an intense light as she gripped the hem of her dress.

He had rescued her. He had avenged her, given her strength, and freed her from her despondency. She wanted to repay him in any way she could, but more than that, she didn't want to be apart from him.

No, she could not leave him.

Her eyes grew darker, a touch of possessiveness creeping into her mind. He belonged to her now. He had rescued her, transformed her, and given her a new reason for living. She would not let anyone else deprive her of him.
