Dawn of light - Reincarnated as a villain

Chapter 33: No title

Chapter 33 - No title

Upon returning from the thick forest, Zephyx and Sylvia went to the little inn at Tywnpier.

Upon entering the room, he sat on the bed and gazed at the ceiling for a brief moment, feeling comfortable.

Then, shaking off the temporary peace, he opened his inventory, eager to look at the rewards he had gotten for finishing his quest.

---

[2x Evolution Cards]

---

His eyes shone bright with questions. "System, what are these evolution cards?" he queried.

[Host, evolution cards will help you evolve anything related to you.]

A smirk tugged at his lips. "Oh? That's great. Then I should evolve my—"

[Host, you can't use them right now. You can only access them once the system is upgraded to Level 2.]

Zephyx's face stiffened. "What? Then why even offer me these rewards if I can't utilize them?" His tone was laced with irritation.

The system remained quiet for a moment.

[.]

".". He gazed blankly at the interface, waiting for a response.

[Host, I am merely a system spirit. I don't manage the system, only its core functions..... I think the system is outdated, which might have led to this error. You need to update it as soon as possible.]

Zephyx sighed, rubbing his temples. "Well, I can't do anything about that since I don't even know how to update you." His frustration faded into resignation as he collapsed onto the bed.

The exhaustion from everything he had endured finally caught up with him, pulling him into a deep sleep.

---

~One month later~

Within a dimly lit, walled training chamber, Zephyx sat cross-legged in the middle of the room. His slow and deep breathing accompanied as he attuned himself to the essence surrounding him.

He used his breathing technique which eventually caused him to experience the rush of world essence greedily being sucked towards him.

He had been meditating for one hour, his concentration undivided and then sudden boom resonated within his body as the energy balanced with his core, his body greedily taking in the essence.

The immense power of the energy shattered the ground below him, causing feeble quivers in the room.

It took thirty minutes before his core eventually ceased drawing essence around him.

He opened his eyes that were glowing with an otherworldly blue light. He flexed his fists, feeling the newfound power running in his veins.

With a smirk, he pulled up his status window.

Zephyx grinned. "Finally, I've reached Tier-3."

Though he had reached the peak of Tier-2 while in Tywnpier, breaking through to the next stage had taken a full month of dedicated effort.

His evolution was steady, but now, with Tier-3 achieved, he felt his power growing.

He had also returned to Crimsonvale Castle.

As for Sylvia, he had decided to leave her at the Duskwood family estate.

Though she had protested, clinging to him with a desperate refusal to part ways, he had convinced her otherwise.

"Use your family's resources to grow stronger. We'll meet again at the academy," he had told her.

Reluctantly, with tears in her eyes, she had agreed.

Zephyx had observed from a distance as the guards took her in. He knew the head of the Duskwood clan would instantly know who she was upon catching sight of the unique pink color of her hair.

Zephyx smirked as he turned his attention back to the system. "Unlock my third sin."

[Ding!]

[You have unlocked your third sin: Wrath.]

A grin spread across his face. "Finally. Out of all the sins, this one is my favorite. Now, let's see what ability I've gained."

[Rage Incarnate (Wrath): The user's strength, speed, and resilience increase the more damage they take. As their rage builds, their body becomes more monstrous, exuding pure destructive energy.]

Zephyx whistled softly. "Now that's an overpowered skill. And with Vital Surge, it's like cream on top of the crop."

Before he could gawk at his new ability some more, the air in front of him warped.

A ripple in the air distorted reality, and in the next instant, a dark envelope appeared, floating in front of him.

His smile grew even larger as he stretched out for it. In no time, he threw the black letter into his inventory, already knowing what it was.

"Heh... I didn't think I'd actually get one of these."

This was a privilege letter from [SETRA] Academy.

The principal of the academy possessed an ability that allowed him to sense extraordinary talent across the Zyraleth continent.

Those deemed worthy would receive this letter, granting them direct entry into the academy without the need for the entrance exam.

For ordinary students, the entrance exam was an unavoidable challenge. In the game, Zephyx had never received this letter.

Instead, he had barely passed the entrance exam, struggling against the elite students who had years of preparation.

But now, the situation was different.

And he knew exactly what was coming next.

"There's going to be a tournament between those who got this letter," he muttered to himself, his smirk deepening.

His eyes gleamed with excitement. "Hehe~ This is going to be fun."
