Gu Junzhu chuckled and ruffled her hair, then did the same to the little sprout. He said nothing more and turned his gaze out the window.

Even Little Shumiao could feel it, as he reached out to hold Gu Junzhu’s hand and nestled into him, quietly watching him without making a peep.

As the car approached the final resting place of Qiao Zui’s parents, everyone fell silent.

There were four cars in their party.

Qiao Zui’s parents were buried on a hill, and the cars couldn’t drive up, so they had to go the rest of the way on foot.

The hill was full of gravesites. Not wanting to disturb the peace, Qiao Zui and Gu Junzhu decided to leave their bodyguards at the bottom of the hill, while the rest climbed up.

Qiao Zui, Qiao Yi, Fang Yao, and Mi Sheng led the way.

Gu Junzhu and Ye Xingbei followed with their two children in the middle, with Duan Yanbing, Gu Chi, and Gu Cheng bringing up the rear.

Qiao Zui’s parents were laid to rest near the peak, surrounded by scenic beauty and tranquility.

Qiao Zui and Qiao Yi wiped their parents’ headstones clean with a handkerchief, placed flowers and offerings before the tomb, and bowed.

After they rose, Qiao Zui, holding Mi Sheng’s hand, introduced her to his parents.
