"What's wrong?" Cao Yuan asked as he saw Lin Qiye halt in his tracks, a puzzled tone in his voice.
Lin Qiye didn't respond verbally. Instead, he gently pushed open the door to reveal a narrow corridor, where a bisected corpse lay in the center.
It was a woman's body, her upper and lower halves completely severed. The crimson blood had stained the surrounding floor, and amidst the pool of blood, one could faintly discern the uniform of a new recruit.
