Chapter 865: Chapter 508: A Single Drop of Blood, Ranked Among the Immortals!

Lexi Carr’s smile stiffened slightly as her gaze became distant.

“I know it’s impossible, but I can’t just ignore things once I see them. I have to do something to feel at peace,” she said.

Maya Leaf pursed her lips, her eyes radiating an indescribable complexity.

“You’re the strangest member of the Demon Race I’ve ever met, and the only one I have a good opinion of. If only all of the Demon Race were like you,” she remarked.

Lexi, however, appeared quite optimistic as she nodded in acknowledgment.

“That day will come,” she replied.

...

Meanwhile, Logan simply stood to the side with his arms crossed, watching without the intention to interfere. After traveling together for this time, he had come to understand just how strong her convictions were.

That night, the three of them found a cave to rest in.

With ample barriers set up outside, they went to sleep with little concern.

However, in the dead of night, a rustling sound emerged—it was Little White.

Little White couldn’t sleep and took advantage of the others resting at night to sneak out and play, pretending it was a little fox.

Being lively and active by nature and kept on a tight leash lately with all the traveling, Little White barely found idle time except at night.

The young fox, ever curious about the outside world, was eager to play.

During its adventures, it came across a fruit glowing with a green light.

The fruit seemed to exert an irresistible pull on the little fox, which couldn’t help but sneak over and, unable to resist any longer, swallowed it in one gulp.

As a result of this action, in the next instant, Little White fell unconscious.

The next day, when Logan and the others woke up, they found the little fox missing.

“Little White is gone, has anyone seen Little White?” Logan often checked on it and even played with Little White occasionally.

Lately, the little fox had become extremely mischievous, fond of clinging to him and lacking its usual morning licks to his face or its whiny begs for food next to him—this was abnormal.

Sure enough, Little White was nowhere to be seen, not beside him nor in the space.

Hearing Logan’s query and seeing the seriousness on his face, the other two grew anxious.

“What, the little fox is missing? Wasn’t it in your arms just yesterday? And you even set up barriers; surely nobody could have abducted it?” They questioned.

Logan shook his head.

“I know my barrier all too well. If anyone entered it, we would sense it immediately, but I didn’t feel anything. Maybe Little White sneaked out on its own. This lively little fox has always been curious about the world outside; it’s my fault for being soft-hearted yesterday and not keeping it in the space. I guess it must have run out last night,” he speculated.

As he spoke, a hint of self-reproach appeared on Logan’s face.

“Brother Logan, don’t blame yourself,” Maya consoled. “Little White is naturally spirited and just born recently. It often sneaks out to play behind your back. Even if you are constantly attentive, it’s not possible to cover every base. Now is not the time for self-blame; finding Little White is what’s most important.”

His words hitting home, Logan pushed other thoughts aside and nodded.

“You’re right,” he said.

Lexi stepped forward to join in.

“I’ll help you look too. With all of us searching together, we’re bound to find it. Young Master Logan, since Little White is your Spirit Pet, you must have a connection to it. Why not try sensing for it?” she suggested.

Logan nodded.

“I’d almost forgotten in my haste,” he admitted.

The reaction between an owner and their Spirit Beasts was, after all, a useful tool.

He closed his eyes, as if searching intently, and after a moment, opened them to reveal a pair of sharp eyes.

“I’ve sensed it, this way,” he directed.

Without further delay, he leapt up and set off in that direction, with the others exchanging looks before hurriedly following without hesitation.

Eventually, after traveling for a while, they finally spotted Little White.

“Look, Young Master Logan, there’s Little White! It’s right over there!” Lexi exclaimed.

Logan followed Lexi’s pointing gaze and felt a slight release of tension in his heart.

“Yes, that’s Little White!” he confirmed.

Everyone noticed Little White appeared to be lying motionless on the ground, and this unnerved them, raising concern.

Maya spoke softly.

“What happened to Little White? It’s not moving at all; surely it hasn’t…”

She cut herself off, aware that her unfinished sentence was ominous.

Tight-lipped, Logan refused to believe that something bad happened to Little White. However, as he landed, he quickened his pace toward the little fox, clearly anxious.

“Little White,” he called tenderly while gently picking up the little fox, checking its breathing immediately. He breathed a sigh of relief—good, it was breathing, and Little White’s chest rose and fell normally, so it probably wasn’t dead.

Maya also realized this.

“The little fox is breathing normally, so it should be alright. But why is it unconscious?” she asked.

Now that was the crucial question. Worry tinged Logan’s face.

“Little White, Little White?” he called a few times, even giving its body a light shake, but there was no response. Despite its normal breathing and heartbeat, the reason for its unconscious state was a mystery.

Just as the group was puzzled, Lexi’s expression suddenly changed.

“Be careful!” she cried.

Then she swiftly pulled the others to safety.

“What happened?” both questioned in unison.

Only then did they notice that right beneath their feet had been the head of a Poisonous Giant Python. They had no idea how long it had been lying in wait, but if it hadn’t been for Lexi, all three might have been bitten by its venomous fangs by now.
