Chapter 952: Chapter 543: Linxia
At this time, Logan passed by the Shop Assistant, walking past him.
When he went upstairs, he noticed that the Shop Assistant, in the instant he looked at him, displayed a fierce glint in his eyes.
However, for some reason, the Shop Assistant did not take action.
But Logan captured that momentary murderous intention and took note of it.
He proceeded as if nothing had happened, making his way to the second floor on his own.
Once he reached the second-floor corridor, he didn’t immediately choose a room to stay in; instead, he stealthily looked down below.
That group of people was eating, and it seemed they had no intention of getting too close to Little White.
After watching for a moment, he did not plan to intervene with this group of people, even if what they were eating was none of his business.
Logan scanned his surroundings and, ensuring there was no one else around, quietly turned a corner and made his way to the kitchen area.
Just as he approached, however, he smelled an overpowering odor.
Indescribable, but certainly nauseating.
Logan instinctively frowned, even someone with his resistance to certain things covered his nose and mouth with his sleeve in the face of the stench.
“What a smell.”
He murmured to himself, feeling increasingly curious about this place.
It was not just curiosity about the substance but more so the puzzlement over it.
Afterward, he added another layer of restriction on himself and proceeded further inside.
He wanted to see what kind of mystery a small kitchen could harbor.
Upon entering, he had expected to see unsightly scenes but was surprised to find the place unexpectedly clean and well-kept.
Yet all the same, that did not mask the ominous presence there.
After some thought, he walked over to a large pot and lifted the lid.
Immediately, a strong stench of blood hit him, and it was not from animals.
His gaze sharpened as he realized something in that instant.
True to his expectation, what was inside was not any wild beast, but clearly human bones.
The source of the blood stench was also from a human, not a beast.
He had thought at most this place might extort extra money from its guests, but he’d never expected they were engaged in murder and foul play.
Even more disgusting, they were actually consuming human flesh.
Cannibalism, just thinking of these words made him feel nauseous.
No wonder this place was so remote—what sort of ingredients could possibly come from here?
In such a location, where prey was difficult to find, if one wanted meat to entertain guests, the only option would be human flesh.
Moreover, he discovered some revolting innards in several other pots.
It seemed that these people spared nothing—skin, blood, bones, viscera—they all became part of their filthy cuisine.
Luckily, he hadn’t eaten anything earlier; had he done so, he suspected he would have felt sick for quite a while.
Logan stood in place, steadying his emotions and easing the urge to vomit.
Then, he turned to leave, planning to inform Nineteen of this matter.
It would be best to coordinate with Master and see how to deal with this dark establishment.
But in an unguarded moment, he accidentally kicked a human bone.
The bone struck the wall, emitting a clear thud.
The sound was not loud, but it was not soft either.
It immediately attracted the attention of the doorman.
“Who’s there?”
Upon hearing this unfamiliar voice tinged with murderous intent, Logan realized he might not be able to leave so easily.
True enough, in just a quarter of an hour, a figure had already leaped before him.
It was none other than the owner.
“Ho! Dear customer, what brings you here? It seems you’ve discovered our little secret. I had intended to let you stay a while longer, but now I have no choice but to see you off early. Don’t worry, you’ll go first, and after your departure, your companions will naturally follow suit!”
After saying this with a sinister tone, the owner immediately advanced with knives bared, seemingly ready to slaughter Logan.
Of course, Logan had no intention of submitting to fate and promptly drew forth his Array.
“It’s yet to be seen who will fall, owner. Such confidence might be a bit misplaced, don’t you think?”
After speaking, he too initiated an attack, engaging in combat with the owner.
“Humph, you’re brave, lad. I had intended to let you die painlessly in your sleep; it’s a pity you chose this death instead. This is all your own doing. I wonder how amusing it would be to serve your flesh to your companions, have them unknowingly consume it, hahaha, I must kill you!”
Toward the end of his declaration, the owner’s expression grew more and more manic, and his words increasingly chilling.
Logan first crinkled his nose in disgust and disdain upon hearing this.
However, he didn’t take the owner’s brutality to heart.
“Heh, we shall see who loses and who wins. If you happen to die by my hand today, I’ll turn your flesh into a dish and feed it to your subordinates piece by piece.”
It was but a bluff, designed to unsettle his opponent’s resolve and see who was stronger.
Sure enough, when the owner heard that his tactic wasn’t working, his expression changed slightly.
Glancing at Logan, his look carried a hint of wariness and other hidden sentiments.
“You’re not afraid of me? Hehe, quite a rarity indeed. However, it’s a pity, for today you are still doomed to die here!”
Logan didn’t engage in conversation, focusing instead on setting up his Array.
The owner, having dominated this place and taken so many lives, must have some capabilities, and at the very least, was stronger than him.
Furthermore, this man was familiar with the local terrain and possessed several treasured items.
What do you think?
