Demon Hunter and His Cabin

Chapter 97: 097 Female Night Demon

Chapter 97: Chapter 097 Female Night Demon

“You shouldn’t go back now, it’s already very late, and driving at night is not convenient, I’ll arrange a place for you to stay, with the police nearby.”

Roger first notified the tailing team not to act rashly, then drove with Ashley to the vicinity of the police station.

To be safe, he laid an Array around Ashley’s room, which should prevent ordinary Ghosts from getting close.

Whether it was a Ghost or an Evil Spirit, they couldn’t cause direct harm, and since there hadn’t been any major problems over the many days before, the Array should make things even safer now.

After doing all this, Roger drove to Danielle’s neighborhood as quickly as possible, as the sun slowly set and the woods grew dim.

Having asked the others to leave, Roger walked alone to the front of Danielle’s house.

...

From what she had said, Roger believed he might be able to find out the truth about the matter.

Now that he had zeroed in on Danielle as a suspect, Roger naturally wouldn’t be so foolish as to knock on her door, for if she were to go crazy, a Shotgun blast from behind the door would suffice.

Then he’d really have no place to reason.

He had been there the day before, so he was quite familiar with the layout of Danielle’s house.

He silently climbed through the back window.

The house was silent, and as the last bit of twilight faded, the light in the room dimmed immediately.

Whoosh whoosh!

Suddenly, the sound of water reached him.

Roger frowned, listening to the direction it seemed to be coming from the bathroom.

“Is she taking a shower?”

Roger paused, but after a short contemplation, it seemed normal, barely a day had passed, and this woman wouldn’t have expected him to have uncovered so many clues already.

“What should I do now?”

“Burst in directly, or wait for her to finish showering?”

Roger hesitated for a moment.

But just then, Danielle’s voice came from the bathroom.

“Is it Mr. Roger?”

“Coming to find me at this hour, you don’t want to chat, do you?”

Feeling a heavy sensation in his heart, Roger spoke up, “Did you kill Judd?”

The patter of the shower ceased, and a series of noises came from the bathroom, through the frosted glass, Roger could faintly see the shadow of a person moving inside.

“It seems you’ve found out quite a bit.”

“My judgment was not wrong, you are indeed different from the others.”

Splash!

The sliding door of the bathroom was opened, and Danielle appeared at the doorway, wrapped in a towel.

Then the lights in the room were turned on, Roger’s pupils slightly constricted, staring intently at the woman before him.

“You haven’t answered my question.”

“If I say I didn’t kill the person, would you believe me?”

Danielle casually dried her hair.

“What’s your relationship with Amelie?”

Roger asked again.

Danielle’s movements stiffened slightly.

“If I say I am Amelie, would you believe me?”

Another rhetorical question.

Roger furrowed his brow but said nothing.

The room seemed to fill with a strange atmosphere.

Danielle sat down on the couch.

“Since you know about the things associated with Amelie, don’t you think they all deserved to die?!”

A flash of resentment passed over Danielle’s face.

“All these years have passed, some have become star figures at school, some have grown up healthy under their mother’s care.”

“Everything that happened at that time was as if it had been erased with a chalkboard; no one cared, and no one sought to pursue it any longer.”

Danielle’s emotions suddenly became agitated, “So I deserved to be humiliated, so my parents should have died for nothing?”

“Are you really Amelie?”

Roger was momentarily taken aback, “Did you get plastic surgery?”

Danielle shook her head.

“I didn’t do anything, it just happened naturally, bit by bit I transformed into what you see now.”

“Maybe this is a chance for revenge that heaven has bestowed upon me, after returning from White Apricot Tree Camp, I fell seriously ill, barely surviving that torment.”

“I began to notice some changes happening to me.”

“Appearance was just one aspect, there were many deeper changes.”

Danielle clenched her pale fingers.

“I don’t know when it started, but every man’s gaze toward me was filled with madness, and with just a flick of my finger, they would be willing to do anything for me.”

“Anything at all!”

Danielle emphasized.

“And I myself enjoyed this process, in my interactions with them, I seemed to become…”

“More beautiful, more powerful!”

Roger felt a slight shock in his heart.

He suddenly thought of a particular creature.

The Night Demon.

They are Elves of desire, leading every man who comes into contact with them into a trap, losing their vital energy in an endless demand.

They generally won’t kill a person directly, but their actions can hasten someone’s death.

He sized up Danielle, not seeing the characteristic hooves and horns of a female Night Demon on her.

However, Roger suddenly remembered the Advent incidents Henrik had mentioned, could it be that Danielle was someone whose special lineage had been awakened during some sort of accident?

Or could there now be an Otherworld presence in her that even she herself was unaware of?

Hearing this, Roger almost completely believed Danielle’s story.

“How did you kill the four of them?”

However, Danielle shook her head.

“I haven’t killed anyone, even if I hated Ashley so much that I wanted her dead, I merely seduced her husband, causing her family to fall apart and her to go bankrupt.”

“As for Judd.”

“He was killed by Travis.”

Remembering the photo of Travis hidden in the corner of the cabinet, Roger seemed to understand something.

Her beauty was her weapon, everything was carefully planned; she dated Judd and Travis, and then, at the right moment, let one see something quite inappropriate.

The hot blood of youth is easily stirred up, plus Danielle’s pushing and prodding, along with a hint of bewitchment from her special bloodline.

An accident was inevitable.

This woman…

No wonder he had walked in on such an incident the first time he came here; for a Night Demon, such things are as normal as eating and drinking, even a part of their survival.

“And Travis?”

“What about Allen and Jonathan?”

“Did they die the same way?”

Danielle laughed, but did not answer.

“They were accidents.”

“I had prepared other ways for them to die… but luckily, none of that was necessary.”

“Because…”

“I have better options!”

Just then, a strange noise suddenly came from a window not far from Roger.

After some time of conversation, the sky outside had become completely dark, but Roger’s sight still easily caught a figure that shot out from the riverside!

Hisss!

The glass shattered, and a foul stench hit him straight in the face.

Without time to think, Roger leapt to the side, but instead of retreating, he moved toward Danielle, who was not far ahead.

This woman was the key; with her captured, all the problems would be easily solved.
