Demon Lord and His Unknown Child With the Empress

“Hmm… I can give you a swift death, but him? No.” Ning Yechen mercifully granted Jiang Zhen a quick end out of a shred of respect for his remaining dignity and tossed a dagger in front of him.@@novelbin@@

Jiang Zhen cast one last glance at Jiang Li, who was still wailing in agony, and picked up the dagger from the ground. Without hesitation, he plunged it into his chest!

Everything that happened was Jiang Li’s doing, and he was just getting what he deserved…

Jiang Zhen had undoubtedly failed as a father. But he had done all he could do for him.

Seeing this, Jiang Li howled even louder and begged for mercy, “Please, spare me! I-I’ll give you the entire Jiang family! I don’t want anything! Just let me live!” 

Ning Yechen looked at Jiang Li with cold disdain. Did he still not understand what was happening? The destruction of the Jiang family wasn’t about wealth. Even if the Jiang family’s assets were thrown into his Demon God Palace, he would consider them a nuisance. What he wanted was the price for offending him!

Ning Yechen raised his hand, preparing to compress Jiang Li into a flattened disk. The moment the process began, Jiang Li let out pig-like squeals of pain and terror.

To Ning Yechen’s surprise, Yue Qingyou suddenly spoke up to stop him. “Demon Lord, may I request you spare his life?” 

“Oh? Why?” Ning Yechen paused and turned to her in confusion.

In his memory, Yue Qingyou was never one to show mercy to insects like Jiang Li. To her, most beings in the Six Realms were nothing more than ants. In fact, among the denizens of the Demon Realm, Ning Yechen considered himself the most merciful. Compared to his subordinates with disturbing tendencies…

Yue Qingyou’s beautiful, icy eyes glanced at Jiang Li, and her lips curled into a terrifying smile as she explained calmly, “Demon Lord, this man not only offended you but also disrespected the madam. Killing him directly is too merciful a fate. Instead, why not allow me to send him to the Demon Realm’s Punishment Hall?”

The Punishment Hall—its name alone was enough to strike fear. It housed specialists in torture and execution, employing methods so cruel and horrifying that they were nigh unimaginable.

Even existences from the Heavenly Realm shuddered at the mention of the Punishment Hall. Many would rather face death, even soul obliteration, than be captured and interrogated there.

The screams and pleas for death in the Punishment Hall never ceased.

Once captured inside, people never came back out. Even those with unshakable resolve would beg to confess everything by the second day. The Punishment Hall was a place even Ning Yechen found nauseating after his singular visit. It had been established in ancient times and upheld by generations of Demon Lords as a means of maintaining order in the chaotic Demon Realm. 

Although Ning Yechen had attempted to abolish the Punishment Hall several times, he faced strong opposition from many of his demon generals and subordinates. They argued that its existence was crucial for deterring treachery within the Demon Realm and ensuring those who offended the Demon Lord received proper retribution.

Given the instability of the Demon Realm and the fact that Ning Yechen had still been consolidating his rule at the time, he had allowed it to remain. And when he tired of being the Demon Lord and left, he had largely forgotten about the Punishment Hall.

Yue Qingyou’s suggestion brought it back to mind.

After a moment of consideration, Ning Yechen nodded. “Very well. I leave him to you.” 

“Thank you, Demon Lord! I assure you won’t be disappointed!” Yue Qingyou responded with delight.  “Shall I provide you with regular updates on his punishment?”

Ning Yechen waved his hands in refusal. “No need…”

Just the thought of it made him lose his appetite.  

“Understood, Demon Lord.” Yue Qingyou approached Jiang Li and ordered the nearby shadow guards, “Take him to the Punishment Hall in the Demon Realm. Inform the warden, Tian Xing, that this ant has offended the Demon Lord and Madam. He’ll know what to do.

“Understood!” Two shadow guards dragged Jiang Li into a twisting rift in the void.

With the matter of the Jiang family resolved, Ning Yechen turned to leave, eager to return home and warm his bed with his wife.

Before departing, he noticed Song Yan lying on the ground. She was twitching, her pupils dilated, her face frozen in a blank, dazed expression. She had just endured another round of Yue Qingyou’s illusion, experiencing the agony of her body being stripped apart.

“Who is she?”

“Demon Lord, her name is Song Yan, the leader of the Sacred Lotus Sect. She was the one who attempted to attack Madam tonight and was the Jiang family’s backer,” Yue Qingyou replied nonchalantly. “The ants in the city and outskirts have all been dealt with.” 

Ning Yechen hesitated briefly before raising his hand. In an instant, Song Yan’s body dissolved into nothingness. He granted her a swift end.  

In the past, he might not have been so lenient. But after spending time with Luo Ruying and Luo Hongye, he decided to show some mercy. After all, he didn’t want his beloved wife and daughter to think he was excessively cruel.

Sigh… I’m too kind.

Yue Qingyou hadn’t expected Ning Yechen to end Song Yan’s life directly, but she respected all of the Demon Lord’s decisions. She even praised him:  “As expected of you, Demon Lord, your mercy is unparalleled in the entire Demon Realm~”

“Enough, enough… Clean up everything thoroughly. I don’t want any major disturbances tomorrow.”  

With a casual wave, Ning Yechen disappeared. 

Yue Qingyou stayed behind, directing everyone to erase all traces of the events.

Just as she finished, a message came. “Lady Left Guardian, someone else has arrived!”
