DESTINY GAMES

Chapter 247 Merit Point Usage.

He has two main options on what to do with his merit points. He can keep his merit points for game points, or he can use them to exchange for tangible stuff from the Yggdrasil civilization.

If he had enough merit points, he could exchange them for a divine spark and become a demigod. It is the option available to the other earths since they don't have a tower of destiny anymore.

That is beyond him currently, but he can still exchange for energy stones, slaves from all over the Yggdrasil civilization, or he can have a weapon made for him.

He is inclined to the last option. But he will only go for it when he has acquired a weapon-class ability. For that he needs to exchange for a sparkion, as they have the ability to bind with an inorganic structure of their choice and use it as their body.

So he will need to use the second option first before he can make full use of the third option. Others don't need to go through so much effort. Whatever weapon they exchange for will be used as it is.

It is not bothersome that he needs to acquire a weapon-class ability before he can appreciate a weapon. In fact, it is a good thing for him because he doesn't need weapons currently.

He has found that his body is the best weapon. Any weapon that can outperform his body will be very expensive for him. So he will need a weapon class ability to truly make good use of a weapon.

Of course, if he wants to do this, he will need game points. He can exchange for some of them right now, or he can wait until the end of the invasion before he makes the exchange.

The difference between exchanging now and after the expedition is that his performance evaluation for the expedition might increase, which will give him a better exchange rate.

Currently, his performance is rated at 2 stars. It means he is above mundane in the performance of the soldiers in the army.

He is not one of the soldiers who have made no significant impact on the battlefield. But he is still below average compared to other soldiers.

He looked at the amount of merit points he has first. It was easy to do. He just had to navigate the display of his mark.

- Total Merit Points: 212,000 >>> 275,825

- Current Performance Evaluation: 2 Stars

- Current Merit Ranking: 147,329 >>> 159,562

His merit points have increased by 63,000 points since the night he was used as bait. Yet, his ranking has fallen by more than 12,000 places. Stay tuned with My Virtual Library Empire

He sighed and said, "There sure are a lot of hardworking soldiers in the army."

He doesn't think he has been relegated by the loss of 12,000 places. He believes that his true position has been revealed.

The 10,000 points he received that night had given him a sudden boost in his position. That boost has worn out after many days, and he has reverted to where he should belong in the ranking with his current strength.

He shook his head and went in search of the things he wanted to buy with merit points.

- Sparkion: Race of energy beings that reproduce through fission. They fuse and inhabit inorganic structures, which they learn to control. They enhance the power of these inorganic structures.

Cost: 1,000 merit points.

- Hammer of Dawn: A gravity and plasma combination strategic cannon capable of hurting divine beings and world guardians.

Cost: 1,000,000,000 merit points.

- 1 Gigawatt Portable Nuclear Reactor: A portable nuclear fission reactor with an output of 10,000 MW.

Cost: 100,000,000 merit points.

He nodded and said, "If I can kill an X-rank enemy, I should be able to afford the Hammer of Dawn."

That is his current goal. He fell in love with the Hammer of Dawn ever since he saw it in action a few days ago. It is literally the biggest gun he has ever seen. No gun can live up to it or compare.

A nuclear missile is far more destructive in terms of area of effect damage. But a nuclear missile can be dodged, which reduces its lethality.

Just thinking about the kind of destruction he can get up to if he combines the ability of a Sparkion with the Hammer of Dawn makes his blood boil with anticipation.

Sparkions are energy beings that were considered as average creatures by almost everyone in their worlds. They were called tricksters and poltergeists for the nuisance they caused.

In fact, the world they were on was invaded for the more powerful Astra birds that can fly in space. The Yggdrasil civilization didn't consider the Sparkions much of a threat because they were not well known.

It was just like the Yggdrasil civilization prioritized the elves as the main obstacles to their conquest of the Lignum world; another, more powerful and more popular race was considered the main threat during the invasion of the world of the Sparkions.@@novelbin@@

But the underestimated Sparkions proved everyone wrong. It turned out that they were weak because the world had very weak inorganic structures. The best bodies that the Sparkions could find were cold weapons and rocks.

The Yggdrasil civilization then brought a large mothership, powerful guns, and extraordinary machines. This gave the Sparkions the ability to shine.

The Sparkions took over the weapons that the Yggdrasil civilization brought to invade the world. They alone were responsible for the defeat of the expedition force.

Actually, the first expedition was wiped out. The second expedition learned from the mistake of the first expedition and didn't bring any machine. But they still had a difficult time fighting off a mothership that had gained sentience, could grow, and was far stronger than before.

Kelvin had done his research into the Sparkions, so he knew the invasion of their world was one of the rare occasions where the first expedition into a world without a god was defeated.
