Destroying My Own World

Chapter 324 A different side.

"What's that? You showed something similar last time," Sabel asked and looked at Mavisha's life essence in Mykel's left hand.

Mykel glanced at Sabel and since they were curious about it and wouldn't stop wondering about it, he tossed the marble at Sabel. The moment Sabel caught it, flashes of memories, emotions, and pain started to strike him at the same time. He passed out before he could scream from the pain, and the others were confused as to what had happened to him.

"If you think you can handle it, go ahead and touch it," Mykel said as he pointed at the marble that rolled off from Sabel's hand.

Sophia rubbed the ice to grab the marble and when she touched it, she collapsed and almost passed out, but she didn't. She was lucky that she retracted her hand from it the moment she felt what Sabel felt. But, it had something to do with her strong mentality which came from Lillith and Aurea.

"What the fuck is that thing?" Sophia asked as she rubbed her fingers because she felt like her hand was being electrocuted and cut off. "How could you hold it and be fine with it?!" she asked as she endured the pain in her body.

"Because I'm strong," Mykel answered and used telekinesis to take the marble.

"So you were offering that thing to us if we won against you even though you knew it would be impossible for us to even take it..." Victoria squinted her eyes and realized that they were fooled from the beginning.

Mykel smiled as he put the marble in his pocket and then walked away since there was nothing else to do in the rift.

Zachary once again received the reward of clearing the rift and how the Gods were pleased by his achievements. He didn't believe that he did something worthy enough for the rewards, especially the achievements. At the same time, if it wasn't for those achievements, nobody would be able to clear the rift when they have to face the demons.

"You guys can do whatever you want when the media comes as long as you don't make the Faelethria Kingdom or Her Highness look bad. Do you understand?" Mykel looked over his shoulder as he walked on the bridge.

"I'll handle it," Victoria answered.

When they came out of the rift, they were swarmed by reporters, but none of them noticed Mykel's presence. He left and let Victoria, Zachary, and Javelin deal with the media as he waited at the side.

Mykel was smoking his cigarette and noticed how bad the condition of Dystrovia nation was after their leader got assassinated. The economy was plumbing and chaos appeared from left and right every day because the whole nation became lawless that fast. In the first place, the nation was on the brink of collapsing, they were just delaying it as long as they could.

"Why are you ignoring me?" Aevia asked as she came out of the wall next to Mykel.

"Am I? I just don't see a reason for us to converse since we don't have anything to talk about," Mykel answered as he looked at Aevia. "You can hear my thoughts, but I don't need someone to talk about the thoughts I'm having," he added.

"Do we need a reason to talk?" Aevia asked again.

"No, I just don't want to talk with you right now. So, can you just let me do my job?" Mykel asked back coldly and then walked away from Aevia.

Aevia stared at Mykel and observed him as she read his thoughts, but there was nothing out of the ordinary. There was something suspicious about him, but she couldn't find anything wrong with him, only the way he treated her coldly.

Mykel was walking on the sidewalk, and then he heard sobbing in the alley. He stopped walking and looked at the garbage bin where he heard sobbing and whispering. He could see two kids, a girl and a boy sitting next to each other where the girl was comforting the boy. He then decided to approach them and he took pity on both of them.

Mykel looked at a girl with her messy long brown hair, a girl who was still six years old, comforting a boy with black hair who was four years old. They both were terrified when Mykel looked at them, and they flinched when he went down to his knees in front of them.

"Are you guys hungry?" Mykel asked with his eyebrows raised as he removed his gloves. "Here, I have bread for you," he said and pretended to grab a bread from his back.

The girl and the boy looked at the bread that was freshly baked and the smell was enough to make them drool. They both grabbed the bread carefully and then they split it in half and ate it.

Without saying anything, Mykel grabbed both of them and carried them in his arms. They both were startled, but his warm and gentle smile made them calm and comfortable.

"Hurry up and eat the bread because I still have more. Do you guys want milk?" Mykel asked and looked at both of them.

They both nodded their heads repeatedly as they munched on the bread and their mouths were full like a squirrel. Mykel then brought them to the nearest cafe that had no customers since everyone was busy checking the rift.

"What's your name?" Mykel asked the girl and the boy.

"Jessie, and he's Henry..." The girl answered as she felt uncomfortable being stared at by the owner of the cafe.

"Where are your parents?" Mykel asked even though he already knew what had happened.

"We used to live in the orphanage, but they left us and didn't come back. We don't have any food, so we go out to ask some, but when we came back, our house got taken by some bad people..." Jessie answered.

"Do you know where your friends are?" Mykel asked.

Jessie nodded her head.

"Bring them all here, and I'll give everyone milk and bread," Mykel said.

Jessie jolted from her chair and left the cafe hurriedly to bring her friends from the orphanage. Henry was left alone with Mykel, but he was so busy trying to drink the milk from the glass. Mykel then told the owner that he would rent the whole cafe and buy everything that he sell.

The cafe was crowded by children and they were all dirty and smelly that the owner was overwhelmed by them. If it wasn't for Mykel who paid for everything, he wouldn't let those children inside.

"Hmm? Is that him?" Javelin furrowed her eyebrows when she was looking for Mykel.

Zachary saw a dozen children in the cafe, laughing and smiling as they enjoyed their bread and milk. He then saw Mykel sitting among them with Henry sitting on his lap, sleeping because he ate too much.

"Yes, that's him," Zachary nodded his head and went into the cafe.

The moment the children saw Zachary, they were all hiding behind Mykel because of how scary his appearance was. He felt like he disturbed the kids, but Mykel told the kids that he was a good guy, and it was enough to make the kids get back to normal, but they were still wary of Zachary.

"I never thought you have this side," Zachary said.

"How old do you think I am?" Mykel asked.

"I don't know. Maybe old enough to have a family," Zachary answered.

"I had a family, two daughters, and a son," Mykel said as he looked at the kids playing around him.

Zachary and Javelin were surprised to hear that Mykel had a family before. Although they were curious, they didn't dare to ask about it knowing it would only bring trouble to themselves.

"I'm planning to take these kids back with me, but having this many, I don't think I would be able to handle all of them. Do you mind asking Melissa to bring some of them with her? They need a proper place to live," Mykel asked.

"That won't be an issue because Lady Melissa has so many orphanage. She would love to shelter these children, but I need to tell her in advance first. I'll make a call right now to inform her," Zachary answered and then grabbed his phone.@@novelbin@@

Javelin watched Mykel caress Henry's hair and talked with Jessie with his warm and gentle smile. She didn't want to believe that he was the same person that she knew and heard. But she thought that maybe it was because he lost his family that turned him like that, and how he was gentle toward children.

"Lady Melissa would love to take them," Zachary said as soon as he hung up the phone.

"Thanks, but I'm going to keep these two with me. I want to raise them myself," Mykel said as he looked at Henry and Jessie.

After they were done and Mykel managed to convince the children, they all went to the airport to go to Faelethria Kingdom. Sabel and the others were put on the far back of the plane, hidden from the children, only Victoria that was allowed to be with Mykel and the others.

When they arrived at the palace, Melissa and Elysande welcomed the children and brought them into the palace. The maids and servants took care of the children's needs while Mykel and the others reported their raid to Elestria.

"Stay here for a moment, Mykel," Elestria said after she dismissed everyone.

"I don't mind with the children that you brought here, but I need to know why you did that," Elestria asked.

"It's a selfish wish of mine, Your Highness. I want to remember the small family that I had. I want to raise those children as I wasn't able to in the past," Mykel answered. "If Your Highness against it, I would send them to Lady Melissa," he pointed out.

Elestria took her time to answer, and then she nodded her head, "You may raise them, and they're your responsibility now. All I can do is to provide a place to live here in the palace." Continue your adventure with My Virtual Library Empire
