Chapter 327 Not my problem.
Mykel left the raid team behind and went straight to where Deviatris was and saw a lot of undead, homunculi, and undying monsters. It would be a long and hard journey for the raid team to reach and meet Deviatris, but it wasn't impossible, and maybe he could be wrong about it.
"Since this is basically the second stage, are they stronger than the previous ones?" Mykel asked Aevia.
"Who knows, but I would be disappointed if they're not. I was hoping to see something exciting, not a one-sided fight," Aevia answered as she appeared beside Mykel. "Perhaps it's because I saw your battle against The Lord and your own people that everything else looks worse than mediocre," she pointed out.
"If you want a fight something like that, it's a fight to destroy the world. You're the one who told me to keep this world safe which means that's not my problem. So don't whine and make up your mind," Mykel responded.
"Perhaps I should make an exception," Aevia hummed as she rubbed her chin.
Mykel glanced at Aevia and tried to look at what kind of expression she was making as she hid underneath that cloth. Unfortunately, he couldn't see anything, but he believed he saw a smile on her face before she disappeared.
Mykel found the castle, or to be exact, it looked more like a mental hospital, a laboratory, or even a fortress. A place where everything bad would happen or bound to happen, and how the atmosphere alone could make a normal human being tremble in fear.
Mykel entered the building and he was welcomed by headless bodies wandering around. Some were as big as an elephant and some were as small as a rat. Although their size was different, the power they possessed was the same, making the smaller ones more dangerous.
"They're parts of her body..." Mykel said after he observed them. "Splitting herself into many pieces, making her impossible to kill. This alone is already impossible to deal with," he added as he kept walking to the source of those creatures' power.
Mykel stood in front of a door, and the moment he opened the door, he cut the connection between the summons with Deviatris. With that, Deviatris wouldn't be able to move from one body to another and would isolate herself in the room.
Deviatris was playing with her summons that looked like her personal guards that were stronger than the whole raid team combined. One was a knight-like creature and the other one was a mage-like creature shrouded in a cloak. Both creatures looked like they were made from tar, and a physical attack wouldn't be able to hurt them.
"How did you get in here unnoticed?" Deviatris stared deep into Mykel's eyes as she caressed her homunculi. "Knowing you're the one who killed my sisters, I'm not surprised that you could do something like this, but your luck has run out," she added.
When Deviatris tried to move her summons, she realized that her connection with them had been cut. She was confused and surprised that someone could do something like that, and that was when she regretted saying those words to Mykel.
"It seems it wasn't just luck..." Deviatris said and devoured the summon beside her. "Who's the God that gave you that power? Advar?" she asked.
"It's the God that you don't even know..." Mykel answered as he stomped the ground, creating an epicenter and burying the whole place under the ground. "Unfortunately, I'm here not to kill you. I'm going to have some fun," he added as he threw the rubble and debris toward Deviatris with telekinesis.
The force was so powerful that Zachary and the others could feel the ground tremble heavily. They didn't know what it was, but the earthquake made all the monsters crawl out of the ground. They hadn't finished dealing with the poison and the virus, and yet hundreds of monsters were on their way to kill them.
"Those who have taken the antidote and can fight, follow me!" Zachary shouted as he raised his sword.
Zachary led half of the raid team to deal with the monsters that ran toward them at an incredible speed. Javelin was on the rear to give support and avoid getting targeted by the monsters.
Duncan, Sophia, and Victoria went their separate ways, to ambush the monsters. Felix was on a mission to find the source of the earthquake because they were afraid something gigantic would appear. Only Sabel stayed behind, treating the wounded, and his reason was not to treat them, but to use them as experiments with the poison and the virus.
"Everything will be alright. Just let me treat your wounds," Sabel smiled and looked at all the wounded who were panicking about the situation.
Thanks to the antidote that Sabel made, all of them were immune to the virus and the poison. Zachary and the others had no worries about them anymore, only the monsters in front of them. With Zachary and Javelin, everything became a lot easier and put everyone at ease even in the middle of the battle.
Zachary received a new blessing, the power that Jeanne possessed, the power to give more power to everyone around him. Nobody felt tired or out of breath, and their stamina seemed to replenish quickly. It was a game changer for the future war against monsters and demons.
"He's getting more scarier than before," Felix said and walked through the battle untouched and unnoticed.
Felix walked past the battle and saw hundreds more of the monsters were on their way to the battle. He used his ability, a mist that was enough to cause every living being to lose their senses. Even monsters couldn't tell which was the enemy or their own kind and that made them rip and tear each other.
After Felix walked for an hour, he was petrified when he saw a whole castle floating in the air. The castle fell faster than he could blink his eyes, and the shockwave pushed him quite far away. He was shocked for a moment, and then he immediately went to check where it was coming from.
When he arrived, he saw Mykel sitting on a rock, smoking his cigarette while Deviatris crawled on her knees. She was defeated, but Mykel didn't finish his job which made Felix curious about what he was planning to do with her.
"You can come out. There's no need to sneak around," Mykel said and glanced at Felix who hid his presence. "It's a good thing you're here because I have something to tell you," he added.
Felix came out and approached Mykel as he kept his guard up since Deviatris could kill him at any moment. He then stood behind the rock that Mykel sat on and opened his ears as he looked at the mess around him.
"Everyone is doing good back there?" Mykel asked as he kept an eye on Deviatris.
"Yes, but unfortunately Sabel can't help but use some of them as his lab rats," Felix answered and looked at his own feet.
"How long do you think until they get here?" Mykel asked and puffed the smoke.@@novelbin@@
"Two hours, more or less," Felix answered and saw something crawling on the ground, a black material like slime wandering around.
"Good. You all will finish her off as soon as you encounter her," Mykel pointed out and flicked the cigarette. "She will resist, but I have sealed her power. She won't be able to win against all of you," he added.
"Is there a reason why?" Felix asked.
"I'm not supposed to be here, or become the center of attention, remember?" Mykel responds.
Felix noticed that Mykel's presence had disappeared, and when he turned around, Mykel was indeed gone, leaving Deviatris and his cigarette. Knowing that Mykel had disappeared, he didn't have a reason to stay there because he didn't want to be alone with her. He hurriedly left to inform Victoria and the others about what had happened and to convey Mykel's order.
Felix came back and informed them about the situation. They were surprised that Mykel was already in the rift and had beaten up the boss who was supposed to be terrifyingly strong. They all then started moving forward and fastening their pace since they didn't want to give Deviatris time to recover.
The raid team was curious why suddenly Zachary and the others started to move faster. At the same time, they witnessed how strong and terrifying the Five Sinners were from the way they massacred the monsters. It was almost like they didn't do anything and only tagged along like a tourist.
"Is that her? Vistara?" Devlin asked and saw Deviatris with her furious expression standing in front of the pikes of debris.
"Who else? Let's kill that bitch!" Sophia responded and ran toward Deviatris. Read exclusive adventures at My Virtual Library Empire
Victoria and the others followed Sophia, and then Zachary and Javelin followed them. The others hesitated to join them because they had no idea how strong Deviatris was. They wanted to observe first and then decided to join or not after they found out how strong she was.
Deviatris was easily blocked and repelled the attacks and magic that came toward her. She didn't even show a sign of struggle even though she was dealing with the strongest Gifted. It was like fighting a bunch of kindergarten kids, but at the same time, she didn't have anything else but her strength alone.
"You said that Mykel already sealed her power? But what the fuck is this? She's almost invincible!" Duncan asked and felt a sting in his fists after his punches got blocked. "If he didn't seal her power, how strong she could be?" he asked.
"Well, that's our problem now. We better kill her or the other way around if we don't kill her soon," Victoria said as she looked at her daggers and they were sizzling after they got in contact with Deviatris' blood.
What do you think?
