Each swing of the Light Sword that Larazul released created a shockwave of divine power, pushing everyone further away. The souls that resided in that place, all of them were purified by it and the place was turned upside down as if the world was being bounced up and down.

The mountains, the hills, and the ground were blown away by the fight between Mephis and Larazul. Although it was a total mess, Larazul protected them from getting killed in the fight by creating an impenetrable barrier. Mykel on the other hand was still on his spot, unmovable like a nail in a coffin and unaffected by the battle.

Mephis' magic was enough to block all the powerful attacks that Larazul threw at her, and her sword was powerful enough to withstand Larazul's Light Sword. She looked like she had the upper hand in the fight because Larazul couldn't use all her power with a mortal body. Larazul was holding back her power because she didn't want to destroy Zachary's body and soul.

"Is this all you got? You can't kill me when you're struggling to control your power!" Mephis imbued her sword with darkness and swung it right at Larazul.@@novelbin@@

Larazul dodged the attack but the projectile of darkness that Mephis released flew and cut the ground open. It kept scraping and cutting the ground as far as the eyes could see, making it so dangerous. As long as the projectile didn't target the humans that she protected, she had no reason to block it.

"Time is ticking, Larazul. Your descendant's body is on the brink of destruction," Mephis threw a spear-like light magic at Larazul, making Larazul move to the side to dodge it. "You can't protect them all. You have to choose wisely," she glanced at Victoria and the others and then raised her staff, creating dozens of sword-like light magic above the barrier.

Larazul almost fell for Mephis' trick and pointed her right hand at the sword-like light magic that was about to hit the barrier. She clenched her fist, breaking the magic because if she didn't the light magic would penetrate the barrier she made. The light magic barrier couldn't stop light magic which was its only weakness.

"You're wide open, Larazul," Mephis appeared right behind Larazul who had just managed to prevent the magic from killing the humans.

Mephis was about to stab her blade at Larazul's back, but Larazul pulled out her wings and spread them widely, pushing Mephis away. Nine translucent wings, too big for Zachary's body made him look like an ant carrying two giant leaves.

Mephis was grinning in excitement, but deep down she was quite scared the moment Larazul decided to take the fight seriously. She knew that she wouldn't be able to win in the first place, but she wanted to bring someone down with her if she died.

"Come at me, and show them the truth about the so-being called Gods!" Mephis spread her wings and created twelve orbs, six black orbs, and six white orbs.

Larazul flew toward Mephis, leaving a trail of light and divine particles that could bring the dead to life if touched. She flew at the speed of light and Mephis struggled to keep up with her speed even though she managed to block all Larazul's attacks Thanks to the orbs that acted like her eyes and limbs.

Each attack made Larazul multiply her power by one and a half, and she had been swinging her swords dozens of times in a mere ten seconds. She was already put in Mephis' league and the next attack that she was about to throw would be enough to kill Mephis completely and destroy her existence.

"Do you want my help?" A woman's voice could be heard right behind Mephis.

The time seemed to move so slowly the moment Mephis heard the voice and could see Larazul move a lot slower. She didn't know who said that and if she should trust that voice or ignore it, but before she could say anything, the voice guided her.

"Take his power and you will be able to kill Larazul. You can even kill all the Gods on your own with his power," The woman pointed out.

Mephis glanced at Mykel and she didn't even notice that he was closer than she thought. Not only that, she was almost forgotten about him the entire time as if he was hiding his presence from her. That indicated that Mykel's ability was extraordinary and that she couldn't sense him at all before.

Mephis eyes met with Mykel and that was the cue when she could steal his power. The moment she saw all the memories of Mykel, the entire world stopped in time, and she couldn't move her body at all. She saw the beginning of Mykel's journey to where he stood now, and it was too much for her to handle.

"Was it too much?" Aevia tilted her head as she slowly floated to the front to look at Mephis' face. "I thought since you were bathed in my power you could handle it," she tapped her cheek and kept staring at Mephis' terrified expression.

Mephis was in a madness state and she could no longer think about anything while at the same time she forgot about her existence. Everything she knew was corrupted by Mykel's memories and it broke her like a broken machine.

"Looks like I miscalculated..." Aevia sounded disappointed and then disappeared.

Mykel who watched everything was standing there and wasn't bothered by Aevia's scheme. He glanced at the others and then the time started moving again, but he noticed that Larazul stopped her blade before it could cut Mephis' head.

Larazul felt like something was grasping her chest like she skipped a heartbeat and noticed Mephis' sudden change. She wasn't the only one who felt like her heart skipped a beat, everyone felt it as well and wondered what it was.

She looked at Mephis' terrified expression, staring blankly at the sky with her eyes and mouth wide open. She wondered what had happened to Mephis, but then she noticed Mykel was walking toward her. She might have known the answer to what happened to Mephis, but she didn't have time for that because Zachary's body was already on its limit.

She left and Zachary immediately collapsed but Mykel was there to grab his body before it hit the ground. He then slowly put Zachary's body to the ground before he walked toward Mephis

When Mykel was about to kill Mephis, a sharp bone pierced through Mephis' back and impaled her. He looked over his shoulder and saw Victoria's smirking face that was hidden behind the folded fan. She killed Mephis and she inherited Mephis' power, the Eyes of Judgement ability.

Mykel didn't care and took the Nephilim's life essence and put it in his pocket. He saw Javelin and Aston running toward Zachary to check on his condition since they were worried about him.

"Getting exposed by divine power that long, I hope he can make it out alive..." Javelin said with doubt on her face since she knew it would be impossible for Zachary to recover from that. "Wait... how is he fine?" She was in disbelief when she checked Zachary's condition. "Did you..." she looked at Mykel with her eyebrows furrowed.

"Is it really that surprising?" Mykel asked back. "You don't have to worry about him," he said as he looked at the sky.

Aston furrowed his eyebrows and wondered what was going on, but after judging how calm Mykel was and didn't antagonize him for insulting Mykel, he felt a bit guilty after Mykel saved Zachary's life. He didn't want to admit his wrongdoings and immediately carried Zachary on his back to tell Mykel that he would take it from there.

Everyone wondered how to go back, but then Javelin noticed weirdly placed stones in the distance. She approached them and noticed they were engraved with a magic circle. Before she could decipher it, the stones lit up the moment she stood near them and created a magic circle that covered all the stones.

"This is our way back! Come here!" Javelin shouted.

They all entered the magic circle and got teleported back to the surface to where the statue was. When they were on their way back, Victoria noticed that Mykel wasn't there with them even though he was with them when they entered the magic circle.

"Where did he go? Anyone see him?" Victoria asked the others.

Everyone looked around and nobody saw Mykel's whereabouts which made them believe he had teleported somewhere else. They decided to look for him because they were curious about where he went.

After exploring the place with the hot wind that could melt their skin for half a day, they couldn't find Mykel anywhere. In the first place, it would be impossible for him to be out there in a random place when everyone else managed to go back together.

"He's not in here," Javelin said.

"So you're suggesting we should leave him?" Aston asked.

"I can't protect everyone because I'm getting tired and might exhaust my magic soon. It's better if we go back since he can protect himself," Javelin pointed out.

"Let's do that. Let's leave," Victoria said casually.

When everyone went to their own rift and left the place, they were confused when the rift disappeared. That could only mean one thing and that was nobody inside the rift anymore. They wondered where Mykel went and his whereabouts.

Mykel wasn't surprised that he was brought back to where he came from and he remembered what Aevia said to him back then. He looked at the clock in front of him and Aevia standing in front of it without the cloth covering her face.

"Welcome back," Aevia smiled. "It's time for you to pay for what you did," she added and pointed her hand at Mykel, pulling him toward her. "It's going to be fun."
