Deviant: No Longer Human

Chapter 660 Lesson on Loyalty!

"Of course, Mom," Wang Xiao had replied, his face the picture of sincerity. "Respect women. Got it. Anything else?"

Later, as she reflected on the situation, Xinyue Zhilan couldn't help but feel deeply frustrated. Learning about Wang Xiao's past actions—drugging a girl when he was just twelve—had sent her into a spiral of disbelief.

What kind of twelve-year-old even thinks of something like that?

Her mind kept circling back to the same question: What went wrong? She prided herself on being a good mother, firm but fair, supportive yet disciplined. And yet, here was her son—a man who, even as a child, seemed to teeter on the edge of morality.

But what could she do now? It was in the past, and no amount of scolding could change it. The damage was done. If only she knew what he was up to now, she'd extend that lecture to a couple of years at least.

Xinyue Zhilan sighed, rubbing her temples. Her professional life was demanding enough, but managing her son felt like handling a particularly cunning client who always found loopholes in the law. And yet, despite everything, he was still her son.

For now, she chose not to dig deeper into his current escapades—partly because she was too busy with work and partly because she wasn't sure she was ready for the answer. One disaster at a time.

She was the first to order a new wardrobe for Zhenxi, the first to inquire about her schooling, and the first to subtly show off her granddaughter's photo to anyone she deemed worthy of knowing.

Wang Xiao couldn't help but smile as he watched her. His mother wasn't the type to gush, but her subtle pride in Zhenxi was impossible to miss.

Meanwhile, the Fu Yuxin situation? Oh, that mess was entirely left for him to handle. Not because Zhilan trusted him—far from it—but because she was too preoccupied with spoiling her granddaughter. Days passed, and the house settled into a strange, uneasy rhythm.

20th December – Center for Advanced Scientific Research!

The sterile labs of the research center echoed with odd noises. Wang Xiao leaned back, sitting lazily on top of some equipment, looking utterly bored.

"Ugh... Why isn't it coming out?" Isabelle's voice, muffled and frustrated, filled the room.

"Mmmghhh..." Her movements were desperate, almost frantic.

If anyone walked in at that moment, they'd have gotten the wrong idea. Actually, scratch that—they'd have gotten the right idea.

Isabelle, the ever-proud director of the center, was on her knees, her hair spilling over Wang Xiao's lap. Her lips parted as she worked tirelessly, her cheeks flushed with effort.

In the corner, Wang Xueying watched the scene with a twitching eye, struggling to process what was happening. 'What the hell is this woman doing?!' she thought, her head shaking in disbelief.

Earlier, Isabelle had made the mistake of mentioning she needed Wang Xiao's DNA for an important experiment. Wang Xiao, never one to miss an opportunity, had suggested she "retrieve it the traditional way." To her horror—and mild fascination—Isabelle had agreed, her pride no match for her desperation to secure his genetic material.

Now, here she was, choking on his metaphorical and literal demands. Wang Xiao smirked, his hand resting lightly on Isabelle's head. "Take your time, Director. I've got all day."

Isabelle's muffled protests turned into determined grunts as she redoubled her efforts. Wang Xueying sighed, "I can't believe this. This is what it's come to?"

Wang Xiao glanced at Xueying, his grin devilish. "Bet's a bet, Xueying. You said she wouldn't do it. Now look at her—she's practically a pro."

Xueying rolled her eyes, muttering under her breath. "She's insane. You're insane. This whole damn room is insane."

Wang Xiao smirked, leaning back lazily as he played with Isabelle's hair, twisting it absentmindedly between his fingers. "Isabelle — do you have a daughter?" The question slipped out suddenly, catching even himself off guard.

"Hm?" Isabelle paused, her face flushed as she glanced up at him. From this angle, Wang Xiao couldn't help but notice how innocent she looked, despite the less-than-innocent situation.

"One," Isabelle admitted after a moment of hesitation, her voice softer than usual.

Wang Xiao's brow shot up. "You do?"

"Surrogate," she added, a faint tinge of red spreading across her cheeks.

Wang Xiao groaned, throwing his head back. "Seriously? Are all you high-achieving women the same? Seraphina, Ericka, and now you?!" He waved his hand dramatically. "Can't any of you just have a normal life?"

Xueying, standing nearby, crossed her arms and gritted her teeth. "Brother—don't even think about it. You already have so many women!" Her voice was sharp, as if she could already picture a future where Wang Xiao barges into his room, smug as ever, sandwiched between Isabelle and her daughter—completely naked.

Isabelle's face turned a deep shade of red, but she didn't bother denying it. Truthfully, she didn't care much. She hadn't seen her daughter in years; their relationship was practically nonexistent.

Wang Xiao's eyes twitched. "You two seriously think that low of me?" He snorted. "Idiots. I was just asking for her advice on a birthday present for my daughters—something normal mortals use."

"Oh..." Isabelle nodded, though there was a flicker of disappointment in her eyes.

"Which one?" Xueying asked immediately, her tone filled with suspicion.

Wang Xiao wanted to strangle her right then and there. "Obviously for my twin grown-ass daughters!" he snapped, glaring at her.

In a couple of days, it would be their birthday, and for once, he actually wanted to do something normal. Something mundane. Something… human.

Isabelle, taking the sudden shift in conversation seriously, pulled herself together and started listing out potential gifts, ranging from practical to luxurious. Most of her suggestions, however, were shot down immediately by Wang Xiao.

"A custom-designed necklace?" Isabelle suggested, her eyes lighting up.

"Rejected," Wang Xiao said flatly. "Too boring. They'd see it coming a mile away."

"A private yacht for them to travel in style?"

"Do I look like an ATM to you? Pass."

"How about a personalized lab kit—"

Wang Xiao cut her off with a groan. "They're not junior scientists, Isabelle."

Isabelle finally paused, her brows furrowing as she tried to think of something meaningful. Meanwhile, Xueying leaned against the counter, muttering under her breath, "Brother, they're your daughters. You should know better what they like."

Wang Xiao's eyes blinked, his expression blank for a moment. What they like? Other than himself, did they even like anything else?

The thought genuinely puzzled him. Wenxi and Yue's obsession with him was borderline ridiculous—he couldn't count the number of times they'd tried to monopolize his attention, often to the point of driving everyone else insane.

Xueying, who had endured this firsthand, sighed and rolled her eyes. "Fine. If you're really that clueless, just wrap yourself in a red ribbon and hand yourself over to them. That should do it."

"..."

Wang Xiao's eye twitched. He didn't say anything at first, but the glint in his gaze was anything but harmless.

Before Xueying could realize her mistake, he had already grabbed her arm, yanked her toward a nearby counter, and snatched a few random syringes lying around.

"Wait! Wait! What are you—?!" Xueying screamed, but it was too late. Wang Xiao jabbed the first needle into her backside with zero hesitation.

"That's for the ribbon idea," Wang Xiao said with a smirk, ignoring her cries of protest. He grabbed a second syringe and pricked her again, this time with exaggerated smile. "And this one's for your tone. Learn some respect, Xueying."

"YOU PSYCHOPATH!" Xueying howled, squirming as he held her in place.

Isabelle, who had been silently observing the chaos, stood frozen in place, unsure whether to intervene or just let them work it out. She honestly couldn't decide if she was impressed by Wang Xiao's actions or horrified by how casually he terrorized his own family.

"Enough already!" Xueying shouted, finally breaking free. She glared at Wang Xiao, rubbing her sore backside with a mix of anger and humiliation. "You're a menace! I swear, I'm going to tell Wenxi and Yue about this!"

Wang Xiao sneered, his arms crossed as he leaned lazily against the counter. "Go ahead. Let them know I was practicing my gift-giving skills. They'll probably find it hilarious."

Xueying shot him a murderous glare before storming out, muttering under her breath about how she'd sully his reputation in front of his precious daughters.

True to her word, she immediately called Wenxi and Yue, voice dripping with exaggerated indignation. "Your father! Do you know what he just did? He—"

Before she could even finish, both daughters listened patiently, their tones surprisingly neutral. By the time she hung up, Xueying felt a small, smug sense of victory. Let's see how he explains this to them.

_____

A few minutes later, Wang Xiao's phone buzzed. Curious, he opened it to find a recording forwarded by Wenxi and Yue.

The video was a full playback of Xueying's rant, her voice escalating with every word as she described his "atrocious" behavior. At the end of the recording, a cheeky note from Wenxi popped up:

"Dad, we think Aunt Xueying might need a lesson on loyalty. Don't worry, we've got your back! PS: Did we earn some praise?"

Wang Xiao chuckled darkly, shaking his head. Good daughters. Very good daughters.

_____

Moments later, Xueying found herself being yanked back into the room by Wang Xiao.

"Wait—what are you—let go of me!" she protested, squirming in his grip.

Wang Xiao's smirk was practically devilish. "You dared to fill my daughters' ears with lies, huh? That's treason, Xueying. And treason must be punished."

"Wha—punished?! You're insane!"

Ignoring her protests, he grabbed another syringe from the counter. "Don't worry. It's just a little prick."

"YOU WOULDN'T DARE!"

"W-Wait! Wrong hole! Brother! — It's wrong hole! STOP!"

Xueying shrieked, her eyes going impossibly wide as she realized what this so-called "punishment" was about this time.

Her face flushed crimson, her mind shaking between disbelief and outrage. Before she could react further, Wang Xiao chuckled like a cheap villain in a third-rate novel.

She yelled, but her protests were drowned out by her own screams as he plunged—his "thing"—into the very spot where the sun doesn't shine!

The next ten minutes were filled with a mix of muffled screams and uncontrollable groans as Wang Xiao delivered his "second round of punishment," ensuring Xueying learned her lesson about betraying family.

When it was all over, Xueying staggered out of the room, barely able to walk. Her legs wobbled like jelly, and she clutched her sore backside, crying in a mix of pain and indignation. Tears welled up in her eyes—not from the physical pain alone but from the complete annihilation!

Her muttering was incoherent, but the words "psycho," "monster," and "never forgiving him" could be heard as she limped away, her dignity left behind in the room with Wang Xiao's smirk.

Meanwhile, Wang Xiao leaned back in his chair, utterly unbothered, and casually pulled out his phone. With a few taps, he messaged Wenxi and Yue:

"Your aunt learned her lesson. Well done, girls. You've earned your praise."

The twins' replies came almost instantly:

Wenxi: "We knew you'd handle it, Dad~ You're the best!"

Yue: "Next time, let us help. Aunt might needs proper discipline."
