Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4297 Enemies On The Move

Chapter 4297  Enemies On The Move

Evelynn cast a good look at the people of the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Clan.

By now, she knew that the main higher-ups consisted of two eyes, Ancestor Alissara and Ancestor Lissana. The eight legs are also known as the eight pillars. The eight pillars mostly are from the royal family line but the two Ancestors were not. They were servants but had become powerful in their own right and managed to oversee the clan.

Other than them, there were fourteen Empyreans and Autarchs who enjoyed the status of Grand Elders.

They didn't have real power due to their lesser cultivation base that was at the Early Empyrean or Autarch Stage, but age-wise, they were seniors. They dealt with the livelihood of the people in other asteroids, so they could said to have some authority.

Evelynn's gaze was focused on each of them while she was in thought.

The Pyraxis Ember Arachnid made a move two days ago, according to the scouts.

She arrived here four days ago.

Considering the time it took for the message to go from here to the Pyraxis Ember Arachnid Minor Realm, which was one or two days, she felt that the target was none other than her.

'Me…? They have been waiting for millions of years for me…? No, it is the Emperor-Tier Essence of the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid I carry…'

Evelynn could not think of another reason why they would form up and quickly come here in order to attack them. The more she thought about it, the more she found it strange.

They must know trying to get to her means offending the Divine Emperor of Death.

'Do they think they can get me because my Davis couldn't come here?'

Evelynn nearly produced a scowl, her gaze turning sharp.

It made the Grand Elders shudder as they felt more pressure now.

She indeed glared at them, unable to find what they were thinking from just their expressions. She wished she also had Heart Intent. Without it, it was just too difficult to see through these old foggies.

"This…" Third Leg, Syriss Xylusc opened her mouth amidst the speculation, "Chromatic Hex Empress, even if there is any spy or spies, it would be wise for us to start gathering our forces in order to mount a defense. From our scouts, it seems like they haven't contacted any other clan and are heading straight here. We would be able to survive."

"They're pretty confident, aren't they?"

Syriss Xylusc smirked, "So it would seem."

Evelynn also returned a smile.

She now knew the enemies didn't know of Wisteria, or there was a delay in relaying information since she only revealed Wisteria's existence a day later. It was three days since that time. If the Pyraxis Ember Arachnid Clan was still approaching them, then it would pretty much mean the spy was among the Grand Elders since they weren't there when the Ancestors tried to awaken Empress Hexena.

They shouldn't know of Wisteria unless they were lurking around or heard it from hearsay.

Either way, she decided to search for the spies among the Grand Elders first.

She stood up from the throne and walked down.

She walked past Empress Hexena Xylusc, who was at the forefront and moved towards the left, where the Grand Elders were. Her purple eyes swept over the fourteen Grand Elders. Looking closely, each one held a composed expression.

It was as though what she was currently doing didn't bother them at all, making her nearly suspect that all of them were spies.

However, she believed that wasn't the case.

Evelynn caught the subtle shifts in their expressions. A flicker of discomfort, tightened jaws, gripping toes, and even the faintest twitch of a brow. The problem was all of them appeared nervous. She could sense a ripple of unease among them, causing her to believe that they may have been involved in dubious matters but not spies.

It made it very hard to discern.

She completed a round and sighed as she turned to look at the others.

In the end, she couldn't find anyone.

"Tia, it's your turn."

Evelynn suddenly announced.

Tia blinked before she smiled, "Of course, big sister. To a Mystic Diviner like me, finding who has the worst karma among here alone should be enough to bring out the spy. Let me- ah, it's him!"

She jumped and pointed towards the Grand Elders as her arm swayed, causing Evelynn to instantly unleash her move. Her third eye, covered by a spider beauty mark, split open and revealed a terrifying hex eye. It flashed with a blue light, instantly transferring to the fourteen Grand Elders.

"…!"

The Grand Elders were all shocked.

Before they even knew what had happened, a person amidst them nearly launched an attack at Evelynn at the same time Evelynn unleashed the Sealing Hex.

However, that person's expression froze as no energy came out of their fist.

"I targeted all equally, but why were you the only one to retaliate? Perhaps you can explain yourself."

Evelynn calmly gazed at that person.

He was a man. A middle-aged human with purple hair was clad in a black-purple robe. He also possessed the blood of Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid, but he wasn't a fey. His undulations momentarily exploded at Level Two Empyrean Stage. However, before the energy could even leave his body, they were sealed by Evelynn's Sealing Hex.

"Grand Elder Rhazim, what's the meaning of this?"

Ancestor Alissara asked coldly. She was seated near the corner as she was still recovering, but at this moment, she stood up, projecting her undulations against him.

Grand Elder Rhazim felt instantly suppressed. On top of the ridiculously powerful Sealing Hex from the Chromatic Hex Empress, a huge pressure fell on him. At that moment, he knew he was finished. He directly turned around and… ran towards the Empress Hex Arachnid, Hexena Xylusc.

Instantly, the eight pillars surrounded him, their hands formed into a fist as they dropped on his head, their knuckles smashing.

It made Evelynn nearly flinch as she heard the sound of a skull cracking with each fist that smashed onto his head. Blood spurted.

"…"

Evelynn wanted to warn them not to kill him, but they appeared to have held back a lot. Otherwise, Grand Elder Rhazim would've exploded.

She didn't even know if he was truly the spy or not, but with him running towards Empress Hexena Xylusc, she felt that Grand Elder Rhazim was most likely the culprit they were searching for. She turned to look at Tia and gave her a thumbs up.

"How awesome. Tia, how did you find that he was the spy?"

Katherine's eyes shone with a crimson adoration as she gazed at Tia.

"How would I know?" Tia shrugged, "I just pointed in that general direction and big sister Evelynn made the spy react by making them think they were found out. Hehe~"

"Pui!~"

The sound of someone furiously spurting blood could be heard amidst Tia's peal of laughter.
