Chapter  43 - Monster Core

With the Wall-Hack activated, Leo knew that there were no more monsters in the cave. The only monster there was the bear they killed, so they didn't have to worry about another monster suddenly appearing and attacking them.

Of course, they also didn't even know if there was any treasure in this bear's lair, so they were just going out of curiosity and a sense of adventure.

But before going, they had waited a while to recover and rest, as the battle with the bear was very tiring and both Dave and Charlie were badly injured.

None of their injuries were serious, but they accumulated a lot of minor injuries that they had to take in order to attack Bear.

While during the battle everyone was quite tired, the boy with the healing Quirk was very energetic, now it was the opposite, after he healed Dave and Charlie, both of them became quite energetic and the boy was very tired as this was the third time he healed the boys today.

For a Bronze 5 Stars monster, almost any part of his body is quite valuable, but when Bear was standing, he was almost 3 meters tall, and with his big body, hardly any of the boys could carry this monster to the City.

He wasn't using the Inventory-Hack to shoot, as he didn't want to expose that he had a Space Quirk.

A few minutes later they finished what they were doing and finally proceeded to the back of the cave.

Leo were still with Wall-Hack activated at maximum while looking around, and apart from some monsters that passed outside the cave by coincidence, there were no other monsters next to them.

The cave was quite deep, as when they arrived Leo hadn't seen the bear from the Wall-Hack, this could only mean the cave was at least another 110 meters deep, but after they walked for 50 meters, Leo started to see some small spheres in his Wall-Hack.

Leo was confused as these spheres were obviously not monsters. So why was this showing up as a red outline in his vision?

There were only two spheres in the cave, and the two were not close to each other, which made Leo even more confused.

He didn't tell the boys that he had apparently figured out where the end of the cave was, Leo just kept quiet as they walked along and he tried to figure out what it was.

In a few minutes they finally reached the end of the cave. Even though the distance was short, they were very cautious and walking slowly to ensure they wouldn't get caught by any enemy monsters.

But when they finally reached the end of the cave, Leo saw that the place was indeed like a bear's lair.

The only difference was the two giant skeletons that were on either side of the cave.

One of the skeletons was obviously a bear, the other skeleton Leo couldn't tell which monster it was, but he was shocked that this Bear skeleton was even bigger than the bear they had just killed.

"Hey guys, if this skeleton is bigger than the bear we killed, doesn't that mean this is a Pure Silver 1 Star Bear?" Harry asked confused.

Upon hearing Harry's hypothesis, no one could deny or agree, as this was the basic forest of MU, theoretically there were no Pure Silver monsters here.

"There's only one way to find out, let's try to find the Monster Core of these monsters, if we find this, we'll be rich!" Dave said with a laugh as he started looking through the skeletons.

The other boys were also excited when they heard this and went after the Monster Cores looking all over the cave to see if they could find it.

Leo was apparently the only one who didn't know what those Monster Cores were, and how much each Monster Core was worth, but he was soon able to deduce what it was and went after the two orbs he was seeing in his Wall-Hack.

If what he imagined was correct, these two spheres must be the Monster Cores they are looking for, but unlike what they imagined, these Monster Cores weren't close to the monsters' skeletons.

While one was close to where the bear apparently slept, the other was close to where the bear apparently defecated.

Leo was confused by the difference in treatment this Bear gave to the two Monster Colors, but seeing that one of the skeletons was a Bear and the other skeleton was a different monster, Leo began to understand the reason for this bear's anger.

First he went to the place where the bear slept, as it was less smelly and disgusting.

He wanted to know why those Monster Colors were glowing in his Wall-Hack, it wouldn't happen without reason.

Arriving at the location, Leo clearly saw the Monster Core. Curious, he picked it up and started to see what it was like.

It was something like a crystal, or rather, it looked like a pearl. It was very hard, cold, round in shape, and the size was a little bigger than a regular chicken egg.

What drew the most attention about this Monster Core was its color, which was a very beautiful dark red.

'Women must be very keen to wear this as jewelry.' Leo thought with a raised eyebrow as he took a better look at this color.

Suddenly a message appeared in front of him.

And the most shocking was the amount of Experience! One hundred thousand experience points was practically half the amount he got while hunting Bronze 4 Stars monsters while being an Awaken Bronze 2 Stars!

But Leo was left with a doubt, he didn't know if he was getting those experience points because he was just an Awaken Bronze 4 Stars while the Monster Core was Pure Silver 1 Star, or if that was the default amount of experience points he could receive for it regardless of Rank.

Thinking about it, Leo saw that the boys were just looking for the Monster Cores in the monsters' skeletons and surroundings, but no one even came close to the place where the bear defecated or even the place where the bear slept.

Thinking of something, Leo decided to just wait and see.

He didn't agree to convert this Monster Core into an experiment for now, and would watch what the other boys would do, but after 30 minutes the boys were practically giving up and no one was leaving the skeletons to look, so Leo stored the Monster Core in the Inventory. -Hack him and went towards the place where the bear defecated.

He didn't even look around and directly took the Monster Core that was among a bunch of shit that the Bear had left.

After taking the Monster Core, Leo went to a small river that ran through the cave and washed the Monster Core along with his hand there as he saw another message popping up in front of him.

Leo realized that this Monster Core was worth 5K less experience points and decided to give this core to the boys, while he would keep the other for yourself.

If it was just for the money, Leo wouldn't mind giving the two Monster Cores to the boys, but since these Cores could be converted into experience, Leo was reluctant to give it away, as it could save him too much time.

When Dave saw Leo coming towards them with the Monster Core in his hand, he got excited and ran towards Leo while yelling.

"Luck, Luck, we were very lucky!" Dave yelled excitedly as he started to look at the Monster Core in Leo's hand.

When the other boys saw this they got excited too and started screaming happily.

"How lucky! I thought we'd be unlucky not to find any Monster Cores, but Leo managed to find them for us!" Harry also squealed excitedly as he danced in place.

Only Leo was looking confused as he asked.

"What are these Monster Colors for?"

Hearing Leo's question, the boys were a little surprised and finally remembered that Leo was a freshman, they only teach this kind of stuff in the first MU classes, but since Leo hasn't even had class with them yet, it was obvious that he I hadn't learned that yet.

Dave smiled and explained patiently. He just thought it was funny that initially he mentally joked that girls would probably want to turn this into jewelry, but he didn't think that even men would like to make jewelry to wear with it!

So dave got everyone's attention and suggested it.

"Guys, we have two options for this Monster Core, either we can sell it to some jeweler and split the money, or if any of us are interested, we can sell it to that person for the price we would sell to the jeweler and split the money. money, since Monster Colors are very rare but they don't have a market, we can keep that between us. But with this Monster Core in hand and the information on how to get other Monster Cores, Leo knew he had an advantage that other Awakens didn't. While other people needed luck to get a Monster Core by killing a monster, apparently his Wall-Hack can see Monster Cores too, so maybe he can see which monster has Monster Core and which monster doesn't!

With this knowledge, when Leo starts hunting Pure Silver 1 Star monsters, he could get much more Experience points for using Monster Cores, how much money could he earn by selling these Monster Cores when he needs to buy more expensive equipment in the future !

'Maybe the speed at which I get experience now might be low, but from Pure Silver 1 Star onwards it will increase a lot!" Leo thought excitedly.

At this point he was even considering moving up to Pure Silver 1 Star faster since he could gain even more experience hunting monsters with Monster Core, but he decided to wait a little longer and think about it better, as he couldn't reverse that decision later.
