Dominate the Super Bowl

Chapter 415

Chapter 415: Perfect Match Chapter 415: Perfect Match Kansas City Chiefs, fourth down with one yard to go, a fake pass turned run.

Were the Jacksonville Jaguars unprepared?

How could they be!

Even though the Jacksonville Jaguars didn’t have time to intricately communicate tactics and hadn’t anticipated the Kansas City Chiefs boldly opting for a risky fourth-down surge without warning, causing them to hurriedly take the field; the defense had performed exceptionally throughout the season, with tactical execution embedded deeply in their marrow from top to bottom.

Pressure.

Defend the pass.

...

And defend the run.

Without exception.

At this moment, the depth of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ defensive group was apparent, not relying on a single star player to turn the tide but on the collective strength of the team.

One fails, there’s a second and a third to follow up.

When the Jacksonville Jaguars realized Smith’s fake pass turned run, they reacted instantly, once again demonstrating the might of “Sackville.”

The so-called Sackville is not just about sacking the quarterback; it’s about the pressure exhibited in the front line confrontation, effective against both the offensive line and the running back.

Campbell.

Jackson.

Naku.

Jones.

The defensive line exerted their strength in unison.

However, did the Kansas City Chiefs not anticipate this?

That’s equally impossible.

Since Reed had chosen to go for it on fourth down, it meant he understood the risks.

After all, Reed was not the kind of head coach who favored reckless risks under normal circumstances.

At this moment, bypassing Offensive Coordinator Nagy’s on-the-fly tactical calls and opting for a fourth-down play meant that Reed was well-prepared before the game.

A fake run turned pass?

It was a ploy, coupled with a screen pass.

Right as Li Wei caught the ball, the offensive line united to exert force, pushing the defensive line players to the left side, leaving a gap open on the right.

One side calculating, the other side unaware.

One side breaking the game with strength.

“Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive line VS Jacksonville Jaguars’ defensive line,” the head-to-head confrontation began.

Muscle colliding with muscle, helmets clashing with helmets, the roar of exerted strength, and the tension of gasps, all instantly set the air ablaze.

Campbell: Damn it.

At first, Campbell sensed the danger, as he saw the space in front of Li Wei on his left, which was the opponent’s right, wide open.

At that moment, Campbell could no longer care about grabbing or collision, completely disregarding the risk of a penalty flag; he made a split-second decision to muster incredible strength to shake off the offensive line’s entanglement, took a step, and immediately positioned himself across the slot, blocking the path forward.

But!

However!

A figure appeared.

Smith?

Campbell wanted to curse; damn it to hell, what business did Smith have running over here, as a defensive end, he rarely found himself uninterested in an easy target quarterback, he shoved Smith aside with both hands, his mind fixated on a single thought.

“Don’t block me from tackling Li Wei.

Get lost!”

Campbell’s burst of power flung Smith aside; Smith stood no chance, toppling away haphazardly.

But, even that brief interference was enough for Li Wei to gain ground, swiftly navigating around Smith’s position and continuing to push forward.

One step.

Past the kickoff line.

Another step.

Fourth down with one yard, secured.

Campbell: Shit.

Shitshitshitshitshit.

Seeing that he could not keep up, Campbell still didn’t give up—

Ahead was the Red Zone.

Not one inch conceded!

Campbell propelled himself with his legs, lunging forward, aiming for Li Wei’s legs with a diving tackle.

Unfortunately, he was a split second too slow, just a split second.

Li Wei broke free with a series of high knee runs, leaving behind clumps of turf and dust, filling Campbell’s mouth so that even curses couldn’t escape.

Damn it!

Campbell, clenching his fist, pounded the ground, but out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a figure—Bosrusni!

“Paul, stop him, stop him!”

It wasn’t just Campbell who noticed Bosrusni; Li Wei noticed him too.

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ linebackers scattered and joined forces with the cornerback to cover the short pass area, while only the middle linebacker Bosrusni stayed put, waiting for his moment to strike.

“Bosrusni vs Li Wei.”

The matchup between the middle linebacker and the running back was staged once again.

Campbell’s interference still delayed Li Wei for a moment, which bought Bosrusni some time.

His muscles tense, he fixed his unwavering gaze on Li Wei.

“Stay cool.

Paul, stay cool!”

Bosrusni forced himself to stay focused and calm, not rushing forward immediately.

After all, all his teammates were behind him; even if he were a bit slower, if he could just delay Li Wei, they could gain a numerical advantage.

The one who should be anxious was Li Wei.

In fact, that was indeed the case.

As he stepped into the Red Zone, Li Wei caught glimpses of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ players in the corners of his eye, leaving him breathless.

He couldn’t hesitate or doubt.

So,

he made a snap decision.

He feinted to the right, but before Bosrusni could react, he pulled back to the left side.

His rapid change of direction, with quick stops and turns, was dizzying.

Seeing that Bosrusni was half a step slow to react, Li Wei didn’t pause—

The third change of direction.

Pulling back to the right side again.

His continuous feints in the blink of an eye took advantage of Bosrusni’s conservative and reactive approach, and Li Wei seized the initiative.

Bosrusni’s shifting center of gravity was nailed firmly in place, reminiscent of a post, frozen for a second, and Li Wei seized the opportunity to dash past his right side, brushing past Bosrusni’s shoulder and breaking free.

Bosrusni: ???

In a moment of desperation, Bosrusni spread his arms wide in an attempt to embrace Li Wei.

However, he grasped at thin air.

Bosrusni felt like a clown, toyed with by Li Wei, but there was no time for regret or anger.

His body followed Li Wei’s movements, and as his feet lagged, his upper body tipped backward and fell.

Damn it!

Bosrusni felt an urge to die.

But at least, Telvin, Gipson, and Ramsey had formed a defensive net.

Inside the Red Zone, it was completely Jaguars’ territory; they had switched from defending against passes to swiftly targeting Li Wei in the blink of an eye.

Linebacker Telvin led the charge.

He could see at a glance that Li Wei was moving towards the sideline.

Even though everyone called Li Wei the “Edgerunner,” in Telvin’s eyes, he was just a cornered rat, with the Jacksonville Jaguars closing in on him in a tight circle.

Digging in his heels, Telvin charged forward like a tiger pouncing from a mountain.

Yet,

at that moment, a figure burst out laterally—

Kelsey.

Kelsey intercepted between Telvin and Li Wei, successfully executing a block.

With a heavy collision against Kelsey, Telvin helplessly watched as Li Wei slipped out from behind Kelsey, his steps light as a wisp of smoke.

Li Wei and Kelsey executed a play, yet there was no time to breathe; Li Wei’s eyes immediately caught the sight of two figures guarding the end zone like Goalkeepers right in front of him and to his right front.

Safety Gipson, unentangled and unimpeded, had his eyes locked on Li Wei like a falcon targeting its prey.

Cornerback Ramsey, initially entangled with Kelsey but now free since Kelsey had left, channeled his frustration by immediately shifting his focus to Li Wei.

Left and right, two protectors stood as barriers on Li Wei’s path forward.

Although there were only five yards between Li Wei’s steps and the end zone, these were the hardest five yards.

Like a chasm.

So close yet so far, within reach yet seemingly eternal to touch.

So, is this where it ends?
