Dominate the Super Bowl

Chapter 673: 672 Waiting for Faith

Chapter 673: 672 Waiting for Faith

Li Wei left the field, but the game continued, and the situation remained deadlocked—

Mosley’s aggressive tackle foul awarded Kansas City Chiefs a first down, and they advanced closer to the end zone.

The Kansas City Chiefs Offense quickly regrouped and regained their composure, but being young and inexperienced, they showed slight fluctuations in focus; meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens displayed their veteran poise, seizing the opportunity during the fluctuating situation, continuously applying pressure, and turning the tables.

In the end, the Kansas City Chiefs struck out.

Just as they were about to score a touchdown, it ended up as a field goal.

“10:17”.

...

At the end of the first half, the home team, the Kansas City Chiefs, returned to the locker room with the lead from a touchdown, but the outcome was still unclear.

After the halftime break, the Baltimore Ravens took the initiative to attack.

In the first wave of offense in the second half, the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs engaged in fierce combat, and the offensive and defensive showdown was completely mired.

The Kansas City Chiefs Defense made their opponents face third down troubles four times, but the Ravens managed to escape each crisis thanks to Jackson’s performance.

After a lengthy and deadlocked eight minutes and thirty-three seconds, this protracted conflict finally ended with Jackson abruptly throwing a cold dart, completing a ten-yard pass to the team’s fourth Wide Receiver, Maxx Williams, in an unexpected connection, successfully making it into the end zone.

“17:17”.

Deadlock. Stalemate. Entanglement. Finally, the Baltimore Ravens managed to overcome their disadvantage and tied the game before the end of the third quarter.

A splendid game, indeed lived up to expectations.

Rather than critiquing the performance of the Kansas City Chiefs, it’s more appropriate to say that Harbaugh once again demonstrated his coaching abilities, always capable of pulling a rabbit out of a hat amidst adversity and crisis, playing to his strengths, and finding ways to turn the situation around and move forward, showcasing a leader’s true color.

Arrowhead Stadium, slightly somber.

In the standoff lasting over eight minutes, the Kansas City Chiefs Defense had more than one opportunity to quash the opponent’s offense, but in the end, they fell short.

Inevitably, it was frustrating, as if just lacking a bit of energy.

In the air, there was a palpable sense of unease, a deficiency, a loss and emptiness indescribable by words, something Arrowhead Stadium had not felt in a long time, like rootless weeds, gently drifting with the wind.

Felix looked back at the player’s tunnel more than once, his anxiety and tension barely concealable, even unable to find a focal point.

A suspenseful piece of news constantly distracted him.

Moreover, he was not alone; disorganized gazes inadvertently kept drifting toward the player’s tunnel, searching, waiting for that figure to appear.

Some might say, in football, the power of one person is ultimately too weak; depending on a single player to change the course of the game or break a deadlock is indeed too difficult—

This is true.

However, another truth is that, like other team sports, football also has its spiritual leaders.

Even though hoping for one player to miraculously save the game is nearly impossible, the presence or absence of that spiritual leader makes a stark difference; the entire team’s spirit changes.

The team needs that team leader’s presence.

Felix waited anxiously, his gaze repeatedly drifting toward the entrance of the player’s tunnel, and when that figure, that streak of red finally entered his field of view, his heart seized, and Felix instinctively stood up.

“Li Wei!”

He called out.

Felix watched that figure, gazing intently.

Composed and striding forward confidently, moving with a light yet firm step, he slightly lifted his chin, focusing intently on the ongoing events on the field, the golden halo blurring around him made it possible to see the gleaming light in those eyes, the fighting spirit shining brightly in the sun.

The man, he had returned.

He just knew!

He knew that Li Wei would never give up easily, he knew Li Wei would fight to the end, he knew Li Wei could make a royal return, and he always believed that the figure of number twenty-three was proving himself over and over with his actions, eventually becoming a belief permeating Arrowhead Stadium.

He was willing to believe in dreams and in hope, even if the cancer cells reappeared, he would never surrender; he would fight to the end, he would give it his all, he would seize every day of his life and live it to the fullest.

Perhaps in the end, he still couldn’t fight fate or change the outcome, but at least he had lived freely, he had shouted and run at Arrowhead Stadium, he had touched the scorching heat of dawn in the most painful and darkest times, and that made everything worth it.

He, refused to give up.

A surge of hot blood broke through the shackles of reason and burst forth uncontrollably, and Felix couldn’t hold back anymore, he shouted out loud.

“Li Wei!”

As he shouted, Felix’s smile climbed up to his lips and bloomed freely.

So this was happiness.

“Li Wei!”

Next to him, Karen watched her son come alive in an instant, her nose tingling with sorrow, but joy and happiness surged in her chest. She quickly took a deep breath, steadied her emotions, and then joined in the shouting.

One by one, three, four, five.

More and more gazes gathered, falling on the figure who emerged from the darkness, unable to control themselves, they shouted out without restraint.

A spark, in the blink of an eye, becomes a wildfire.

Eventually, it spread throughout the entire Arrowhead Stadium, evolving into a torrential force, venting downward.

“Li Wei!”

“Li Wei!”

In unison, deafening.

Nantz watched this scene unfold before him, gaped, and slightly opened his mouth.

Beyond shock and astonishment, a passion and enthusiasm difficult to accurately describe also ignited within him, bursting out in his chest with lofty ambitions.

“The man had returned.”

“From what I can see, Li Wei appears uninjured, even after such a collision, such imbalance, such a fall, Li Wei still showcased his toughness and fierceness, and after undergoing a comprehensive league check-up, he immediately returned to the field.”

“The entire Arrowhead Stadium erupted with an unbelievable sound, welcoming back their unique number twenty-three.”

“This scene was unbelievable.”

“Even though he had only been in Kansas City for a year and a half, even though he was just a running back, Li Wei conquered this stadium, this city with his performance and actions, growing into a new symbol, a new leader for the Chiefs.”

“From the Crimson Tide Storm to the Chieftain, in both teams Li Wei undoubtedly became the team leader, both on and off the field, truly winning the heartfelt respect and affection of players and fans alike.”

“What does this mean? Undoubtedly, it says something.”

“Wow…”

As he spoke, Nantz’s words began to lose strength; he stared blankly at the field, giving up on continuing to speak, instead letting himself be swept into this storm, involuntarily wanting to become one of them.

Romo glanced at Nantz, originally preparing to fill the audio silence, but he soon realized that the shouts from Arrowhead Stadium were the perfect commentary for this moment. He too relaxed, quietly watching the tumult unfolding before him, lost in his own memories.
