Chapter 802: Chapter 805: Terrifying Truth (3)
Lily was taken aback in secret.
She knew that the Aunt Candice Lena Hammond mentioned was none other than Mrs. Gray, Candice Witherspoon.
“Today is the 24th. But Lena, your emotions aren’t right now, even if you want to talk to me, you should wait until you’ve calmed down…”
“The 24th… yes, the day after tomorrow is the 26th! Lily… Rowena Gray is going to hold a shareholders meeting on the 26th. You must go and stop her; you can’t let her hold the meeting successfully.”
“If she succeeds, and the shareholders meeting goes through, once everything is certified and the dust settles, it will be too late, even if you show up with your share certificate.”
“Lily, you must not let Rowena Gray succeed, you must!”
...
Lena Hammond’s grip on Lily’s arms was almost insane.
Her eyes red, filled with intense hatred and unwillingness.
Lily was deeply pained by Lena Hammond’s hysterical appearance.
To her, the pain in her arms was nothing; instead, it was Lena Hammond’s almost crazed, grim face that made her heartache.
What on earth had happened?
What kind of shock must Lena have received to become like this!?
Lily didn’t know, she just felt full of regret and guilt.
Meanwhile, Sadie watched coldly from aside, immediately noticing that something was wrong with Lena Hammond’s emotions.
She wasn’t Lily; she didn’t have emotional ties to Lena.
Without any hesitation, Sadie called the doctor, restrained Lena, and administered a tranquilizer.
After a short while, Lena Hammond at last became peaceful again.
“Sadie, come out for a moment,” Lily motioned with her eyes.
Letting go of her restraint on Lena Hammond, Sadie followed her out.
Once outside, Lily didn’t beat around the bush and directly said, “Don’t treat Lena like that next time. That kind of tranquilizer, if used too often, is not good for the nerves.”
Sadie’s gaze fell on the bloodstains on her forearm, but Lily just shrugged nonchalantly, “This little wound is nothing to me…” @@novelbin@@
“All right, Arianna Brooks, as your friend, I’ll listen to you. However, Miss, you heard what Lena Hammond just said. Now that she’s been sedated and will calm down, I think you should have a second talk with her as soon as possible.”
At the words, Lily frowned.
She looked at Sadie and stated coldly, “Lena’s current condition is not suitable for talking.”
Asking Lena Hammond to recount the event and letting her suffer the trauma again was something Lily couldn’t do.
Sadie didn’t agree.
“Arianna, Lena Hammond said that the Gray family is holding a shareholders meeting the day after tomorrow. From her tone, it’s not hard to see that the situation is probably very urgent. I suggest you don’t go easy on her, let her rest more, but later you must get the full story.”
“Also, when we found Lena Hammond, she was detained by Dylan Wellington. But when she woke up and saw you, she didn’t mention Dylan Wellington; instead, she was anxious to tell you about the shareholders meeting. This suggests that for her, this matter is more important than what happened with Dylan Wellington.”
“I think you shouldn’t worry about whether she can handle the mental and physical stress. Miss Hammond probably wouldn’t want to miss out on important matters because of herself.”
Lily fell silent.
She admitted Sadie was right in her analysis.
But to be harsh on Lena Hammond, she couldn’t bring herself to do it.
“Sadie, you’re not wrong. Okay then, before the day after tomorrow, as long as Lena can keep her emotions stable, I’ll find another time to talk to her. But if she hasn’t recovered by the start of the shareholders meeting the day after tomorrow, we will attend the meeting first. Other matters can wait until this is over.”
Even if Lena Hammond couldn’t tell them more about the inside story for now.
But as long as Lily was around, she wouldn’t let Rowena Gray have her way.
What do you think?
