Gurgle... gurgle...
The spore pod containing Zhu Zhuyun pulsed rhythmically as waves of nutrient-rich biofluid steadily flowed into her body.
Lurking atop the pod was the latest creation birthed by Lin Fan's genetic engineering—the Enchantment Parasite Queen!
Originally, after conducting a large-scale round of gene fusion, Lin Fan had only managed to produce three new combat monsters and three core gene templates. But just as he was about to refine new unit types...
...the Earth King returned from a hunt with an unexpected surprise.
It had slain a Ten-Thousand-Year Pink Enchantress!
From that spirit beast, the Zerg Corruption Pool extracted rare gene traits—enchantment, psychic suggestion, and sensory stimulation!
Lin Fan immediately seized the opportunity and ordered the fusion of those traits with previously collected similar psychic and stimulant gene samples.
Sure enough, a new Zerg species was born: the Enchantment Parasite!
The experimental subject, a modified Illusion Butterfly, successfully adapted and evolved during testing, eventually transforming into a powerful Millennium-tier Enchantment Parasite Queen.
Watching the queen release waves of energy atop the pod, Lin Fan couldn't help but exclaim,
"This gene... arrived at the perfect time."
The Zerg Broodmothers were powerful, but their production was limited. The pelvic incubation chamber could only produce one Broodmother per level.
And in a world filled with such beautiful and powerful women, was he supposed to just walk away from valuable assets?
The creation of the Enchantment Parasite solved a critical issue.
Especially the Parasite Queen's innate skill, which was absurdly powerful. Lin Fan's eyes gleamed as he commanded:
"Overmind, pull up the stats for the Enchantment Parasite and Parasite Queen!"
[As you command.]
[Enchantment Parasite – A Zerg support unit. It secretes a powerful, colorless, and odorless hallucinogenic dust that affects the minds of enemy units, causing illusions, stimulation, or even unconsciousness. (Upgradeable)]
[Parasite Queen – The commander unit of the Enchantment Parasites. Its dust is far more potent. (Current Rank: Millennium)]
[Innate Skill: Absolute Obedience]
[Description: The Parasite Queen can compress its hallucinogenic dust into a form of concentrated psychic fluid, which can be injected into a target via a Zerg incubation pod. The altered target will retain their memories but become completely obedient to the Overmind. (Cooldown: 7 days, Energy Cost: 100,000)]
Even though this wasn't Lin Fan's first time reviewing this skill, he still found himself in awe.
This ability was terrifying.
Any being injected with the Queen's psychic fluid would fall under absolute control—mind, body, and will. Total submission.
While the transformed units didn't gain the massive enhancements of a Broodmother host, that wasn't the point.
The key? They retained their original appearance and memories—perfect for infiltration and sabotage.
Where someone like Qian Renxue had to plot for years to impersonate a prince, Lin Fan only needed to capture the real one and rewire their loyalty with Zerg tech. No replacement. No risk. No trace.
Fire ignited in Lin Fan's eyes.
The empires of Douluo... the royal courts... the noble clans...
If he could convert key figures into loyal servants of the Swarm, the resources of entire factions would flow straight into his hands. Spirit herbs, spirit bones, ancient relics—everything would become energy for the Hive.
And when the time came to expand... having insiders working within human society would make conquest far easier.
Lin Fan took a deep breath, calming the excitement in his chest.
World domination wouldn't happen overnight.
Douluo Continent was far from simple. Some terrifying old monsters remained in seclusion, and even beyond this world, the Divine Realm was watching.
Not to mention... on the far side of the planet, across the ocean, there was another continent.
If he wanted to conquer this world and make it the cradle of the Zerg Swarm, he would need patience. Strategic buildup. Let the natives of this planet witness what it meant to face a galactic-level calamity.
His thoughts drifted to his other newly created units.
During the successful operation against the Ten-Thousand-Year Phoenix-Tail Crest Serpent, two more experimental Zerg units had been field-tested—and their performance had been outstanding.
The first was a failed gene fusion experiment: the Suicide Bug.
Lin Fan opened its unit panel.
[Suicide Bug – A highly unstable Zerg unit. From the moment of its creation, violent chemical reactions occur inside its body. It can detonate itself, dealing area damage. Its rotund body moves at high speed and secretes powerful adhesive mucus to latch onto any surface.]
[Maximum detonation window: 20 seconds. Energy cost: 100 units.]
Lin Fan grinned with manic satisfaction.
These little bombs were a blessing!
Even against a beast as durable as the Ten-Thousand-Year Phoenix-Tail Crest Serpent, a swarm of Suicide Bugs could leave devastating wounds. And their post-detonation secretions produced a corrosive flame, slowly eating away at anything it touched—perfect against high-regeneration enemies.
Cheap. Effective. Brutal.
Energy requirements had risen significantly due to enhanced Zerg evolutions. Even hatching a basic Zergling egg now cost 500 energy units. By comparison, a Suicide Bug only needed 100. A no-brainer.
The downside? Each Suicide Bug detonated within 20 seconds of being spawned—no exceptions. Delay it, and it would go off inside your own base.
So Lin Fan devised a new strategy.
The Aerial Bomber.
Using Overlords' flight capabilities, he could implant Creep within their bodies and hatch a basic Brood Hatchery inside them.
While a standard Overlord couldn't carry even a Level 1 Hatchery, with upgrades and gene enhancements for size and durability, Lin Fan had crafted a Colossal Overlord—
50 meters long, 20 meters tall.
A skyborne dreadnought that darkened the skies wherever it flew.
And inside it? A mobile hatchery pumping out endless Suicide Bugs, raining destruction from above.
A true flying Zerg siege fortress had been born.
