Chapter 47 Morgaine's Special Origin
Ryuk looked at the knife and fork and couldn't help but nod.
"It truly has a different feel. Even though less food is taken in, I feel like there's so much space in my mouth and I'm failing to use it to its fullest potential" Ryuk said as Morgaine chuckled.
"That's not a thing. You'll eventually get used to it," she said, and Ryuk nodded before resuming his meal. It didn't take long for him to finish his food, and a satisfied expression filled his face as he looked at the empty plate.
Somehow, he felt his stomach bulging, and some weird filling of fullness that he had never experienced before since his birth.
"I've never felt so alive," Ryuk said with a stifled expression, and Morgaine burst out laughing, causing Ryuk to raise an eyebrow.
"What?" he asked.
"You're so direct and barbaric. Just where did Mother find you?" she asked, and Ryuk raised an eyebrow.
"Mother?" he repeated, and the girl's eyes widened as she realized her error.
However, Ryuk's mind quickly pieced things together, and he determined what she meant.
"Wait, so you mean the Half-Fallen Lady is your mother?!" he asked in shock, his voice loud as Morgaine signalled for him to quiet down.
"That was a slip..." she said as Ryuk looked at her briefly before shrugging.
"I somehow found your face familiar in the first place. Now it makes more sense," he replied before rising to his feet.
His stomach grumbled, beginning to remain in one place, but Ryuk paid it no attention as he picked up his plate, moved to the sink, and began washing it.
Morgraine had also finished her plate and couldn't help but raise an eyebrow when she saw Ryuk washing his.
"And why are you washing the dishes yourself?" she asked, dumbfounded, and Ryuk raised an eyebrow.
"Is it against the rules?" he asked, and Morgraine shook her head.@@novelbin@@
"No, but no one washes their own plates here. There are people who will come and wash them. So why bother?" she asked.
It was strange to her to see someone washing their own dishes, but Ryuk didn't see it the same way.
"When I found the plate, it was neat and sparkling. So why would I leave it dirty or for others to clean? They weren't the ones who used it, were they?" he asked, and Morgraine could only shake her head at his odd reasoning.
[A/N: Why can't you fucks watch your plate yourselves after eating!? (Said by someone who gets stuck washing dirty dishes for 10 hours in a day)]
"You really are a weird one," she commented as Ryuk shrugged it off.
Finished done with the washing, he dried his wet hands and moved toward the exit.
"Hey," Morgaine suddenly called out to Ryuk as he paused, resulting in her to catch up to him.
"I can trust you to keep my secret, right? You're the only one who knows about my mother..." she said as Ryuk raised an eyebrow.
He didn't see a reason why she had to hide who her mother was, but he also didn't care and made that known by shrugging indifferently.
"So far I don't have a blade an inch from my neck forcing me to speak, then I your secret will be fine," he said as Morgaine giggled.
"So direct..."
"Anyways, you arrived today, right?" she asked, and Ryuk nodded.
Somehow, he hadn't seen the girl when he arrived, but he could guess she was one of the geniuses too.
Judging by her knowledge, it seemed news of his arrival had already reached every genius's present.
"And you want to get into the top ten spots of the Ascension Academy?" Morgaine asked, and Ryuk nodded again.
That was obvious.
"But how do you plan on doing that with your initial-level Origin Plane cultivation?" she asked as Ryuk raised an eyebrow.
"You can see my cultivation?" he asked, and she nodded.
"Easily." She said.
'If she can see my cultivation, then that means she must be very strong. Somehow, Quinn couldn't tell...'
He had noticed how Quinn had asked if he was weak too. If the boy was very strong, then he too should have been able to see Ryuk's cultivation and determine without asking.
"I'll find a way," he replied casually.
"Want to train with me?" Morgaine suddenly asked as Ryuk turned his attention to her, suspiciously.
She currently had a light smile on her face as she asked.
She didn't seem to have any ulterior motives, either.
"And why would you bother with that?" he replied as they arrived at a crossroads, and Morgaine branched to the side.
"I'm guessing that's a yes! Come to the training room with the number 3 tomorrow after class! I'll be waiting for you," she said loudly before suddenly fading away into thin air.
A second later, a powerful wave of air slammed into Ryuk's face, lifting his hair wildly.
"She really is strong," he mused silently as he continued on his path and slowly walked away from the scene.
Unknown to Ryuk, just three buildings away, a figure could be seen on top of one fo teh skyscrapers. His eyes narrowed in suspicion as he watched Ryuk slowly walk away.
"The human boy is with Morgaine, and she didn't seem to look at him with her disdaining gaze too. Almost like both of them are together or know each other previously."
"But that's impossible. How would Morgaine know a weak human boy nor even care to talk to one who is so weak. This is highly suspicious."
"I have to report this to Alexander!" the chubby boy muttered as he jumped down from the structure.
Soaring downwards, he never stepped on the ground before fading into thin air in a golden light, disappearing into the distance with incredible speed.
