Chapter 757 - 761: Chop Thunder Duke
Chapter 757: Chapter 761: Chop Thunder Duke
Zhu Minglang stood on the back of the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon, slowly ascending into the sky.
Linghu Ling and Wu Xiao followed closely, stepping into the luxurious, leather-wrapped nest of the Lei Dragon.
Perhaps in the eyes of those with similar cultivation, it was an extremely luxurious and dignified dragon bed, but in Linghu Ling’s eyes, it was exceptionally fierce and horrifying. Many of the hides included faces and scalps that had been peeled off together, and it was common to see the flat faces of fierce beasts there, wearing an eerie expression of agony.
Primitive and cruel, the Lei Dragon’s predilections were bizarre to the extreme. Most importantly, it couldn’t clean these beast skins, dragon skins, and demon skins as cleanly as humans could, resulting in residual flesh and bones emitting a strong stench of blood, making the entire nest reek.
Worse still, the Lei Dragon was attempting to roar and breathe out, trying to vomit all the toxicity from its stomach. The rotting stomach gas that it spewed out was even more disgusting, mixed together, Linghu Ling wished she could burn this dirty, cruel, and strange dragon cavern to the ground completely!
“Quick battle, quick decision,” Zhu Minglang said to Linghu Ling.
...
The thing that people in the Dragon Gate liked to do the most was to wait passively for opportunities and take advantage of others by ambush. They were all being truly sly.
No one could resist the temptation of such a huge, fat dragon like the Lei Dragon. If a fight broke out and others killed their way in, their previous efforts would be in vain.
Fortunately, before coming here, Zhu Minglang had scouted around and hadn’t found any traces of other deities. Also, before making a move on this Lei Dragon, Zhu Minglang had the Green Phoenix Dragon and the Spirit Glowing Dragon keep watch nearby…
The speed of increasing one’s cultivation in the Dragon Gate was incredibly fast. Zhu Minglang had already promoted both the Green Phoenix Dragon and the Spirit Glowing Dragon to the Demi-god Realm Cultivation. There were no bottlenecks, no need to wait for the body to slowly absorb and grow, and no restriction by bloodlines or digestion issues. It wasn’t just about rising from Dragon King Level to Demi-god Level; even a Dragon at Dragon Child Level could ascend to the God Level in a short time, provided the Spirit Root was sufficiently abundant.
Zhu Minglang, of course, was determined to promote all his dragons to the God Level. Now, the Refining Ash Black Dragon had already reached the Peak King Level, and Zhu Minglang had found an Ancient Dragon Spirit Root for Big Black Tooth that could be partly converted into its cultivation after leaving the Dragon Gate.
“Having many dragons is good,” Wu Xiao said enviously as he looked at Zhu Minglang.
A Dragon Shepherd alone could do the work of a whole team. Originally, hunting Red Sky Beasts and Lei Dragons would require a group effort, and even a slight miscommunication could lead to failure. But with someone like Zhu Minglang, a Dragon Shepherd with a wide variety of Dragon Beasts, it only took three people to take on a challenge that even a group of deities wouldn’t dare to attempt!
“Boom!!!!”
The Lei Dragon was furious, its tail was lifted high, as if it could touch the heavens in an instant.
Like a special tower for channeling thunder, the Lei Dragon’s spikes stood erect all over its body, followed by an apocalyptic display of thunder and lightning filling the oppressive clouds and pervasive rain!
The thunderous roar of the massive lightning seemed to indicate that one hundred thousand Heavenly Soldiers and Generals would burst forth from the clouds, pounding the Divine Drum and Divine Drum that suppressed everything. Even afflicted with poison, this skin-stripping Lei Dragon deity still showed its dominating side, making it seem as if the expansive rainy sky could shatter and collapse at any moment under its power.
The Heavenly Slaughter Dragon roamed the sky, surrounded by deadly flashes of lightning. Now and then, one could see those lightnings coalesce into a huge spherical shape, shining with shockingly intense flames of thunder rolling down, more terrifying than the meteorites pulled down by Heavenly Gravity.
Zhu Minglang felt the space around him shake violently, and his ears were nearly deafened. His head was spinning with severe dizziness.
What a tough guy!
To be so wild and dangerous despite being poisoned, no wonder Mr. Jinli has always been infatuated with the Purple Dragon, whose Lei Dragon clan of the Holy Emperor lineage is just too domineering!
“Roooaaarrr!!!!!!”
The roar of the Lei Dragon was indistinguishable from lightning passing by one’s ears.
Its middle-aged man’s face was staring at Zhu Minglang, and below those dense silver-purple whiskers were a pair of cold, proud, and violent eyes. It looked down on Zhu Minglang as if to say, “If it weren’t for your despicable human trickery, I could kill you effortlessly!”
“Reverse Spot, don’t force it, I have another way to get close to it,” Zhu Minglang said to the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon.
Hearing this, the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon was even less willing to give up just like that.
A poisoned dragon that couldn’t even get close to its opponent was unworthy of lifting its head among other dragons in the future. As a naturally murderous Heavenly Slaughter Dragon, it would not allow itself to be inferior to other dragons!
The scale feathers on its body began to change continuously, at times smooth like jade, allowing it to absorb some destructive energy and convert it into the energy of the Underworld Lamp on its tail. When terrifying gold lightning appeared overhead, its scale feathers immediately became tough and hardened like rare metals that had been smelted, presenting the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon with a resolute and icy temperament. In this form, its scale feathers and dragon skin reached the ultimate hardness and resistance…
Having withstood the golden thunderstorm, the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon’s body was now scorched black, with scale feathers, skin, and blurry flesh mixed together.
But after increasing its cultivation, the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon seemed to have mastered a new ability—molting and regeneration!
Discarding that disfigured layer of skin completely, and then replacing it with other intact forms of scale feathers.
The Heavenly Slaughter Dragon discarded the jade scale skin and the hard erect scales, finally keeping only one Dark Form. The feathers of this Dark Form were nearly indistinguishable from dermal membranes. Having discarded the previous two forms, its body was now lighter and more slender, and its movements became more agile!
Like a dark serpent effortlessly moving through the ocean of darkness, the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon had even forsaken its Starry Sky Wings, becoming a true Yin Dragon of the night, without wings, claws, scales, or feathers…
Demonstrating speed and agility to the extreme, it moved through an almost impenetrable barrier of golden lightning, as if the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon were merely a shadow without a true form!
“Grrr!!!”
The Heavenly Slaughter Dragon issued a provocative roar, finding the thunderous domain of the Lei Dragon not as terrifying as imagined.
“Good, leave the rest to me and Bai Qi,” Zhu Minglang praised loudly.
Taking advantage of the Heavenly Slaughter Dragon’s dark speed, Zhu Minglang leaped from a high point, holding his sword and thrusting it directly towards the head of the Lei Dragon!
The Lei Dragon twisted its head, avoiding Zhu Minglang’s attack. It stretched out its disproportionately large claws, intending to grasp this insignificant human!
Clasping Zhu Minglang tightly in its dragon claw, the Lei Dragon immediately caused a surge of Lei Dragon Underworld Flames at its foreclaw, scorching Zhu Minglang to death within its grasp.
“Shush! Shush! Shush! Shush!”
With four consecutive slashes, Zhu Minglang cut out a perfect square at the Lei Dragon’s toe bone, then kicked open the area of bone and flesh and escaped the grasp of the Lei Dragon’s claw before the Underworld Flames could reach him.
The Lei Dragon, furious beyond caring about such minor injuries, extended another claw, slapping it down at Zhu Minglang again.
Seeing this, Zhu Minglang decisively threw the Sword Spirit Dragon with great force and allowed himself to fall straight down…
The Lei Dragon naturally targeted Zhu Minglang for the kill. Its claws were quite strange, for though it had only two front claws, they seemed to be striking like a dozen at once, with an exceptionally rapid frequency!
Tracking Zhu Minglang, it slapped and clawed. Zhu Minglang landed on a mountain peak draped in rugs, just as the Moon Blessing White Dragon caught him. They then ran at lightning speed across the spacious dragon couch, dodging and weaving to avoid the consecutive slaps of claws.
Zhu Minglang grabbed onto the flowing feathers around Bai Qi’s neck, ready for dragon-back combat.
“To its blind spot,” Zhu Minglang said to Bai Qi.
All of Bai Qi’s feathers had been retracted, appearing instead like perfectly streamlined, reverse wings clinging tightly to its agile lower body on either side, forming a shield-like shape. This allowed it to run and fight without the encumbrance of complex wings, its agility and strength on par with some of the land-born divine beasts.
The sky was filled with golden lightning; flying high was not ideal for fighting the Lei Dragon.
The Lei Dragon’s body was long and massive, and its claws were thick and powerful, but Bai Qi could easily weave through its winding body.
The Lei Dragon, embarrassed and enraged, even managed to tie itself in knots several times in its efforts to entangle Bai Qi and Zhu Minglang.
Before it realized, the Lei Dragon had lost sight of the white dragon that was as elusive as a mouse. It shuffled its lower body a significant distance just to see that, at some point, Bai Qi had formed a Profound Art God’s Curse that froze its already sluggish hind legs.
“Rooooar!!!!!”
The Lei Dragon was fuming with rage, ready to unleash a powerful breath, but it quickly realized it couldn’t produce any Dragon Flame or Dragon Breath; it hurriedly tried to draw lightning with its tail…
“Swoosh!!!!!”
Just then, the Crimson Sword thrown by Zhu Minglang suddenly chopped down, its blade swelling immensely with each swing, reaching sky-high!
Beyond that, tens of thousands of cyan blades stirred up a tremendously shocking storm of blades, roaring over from where the female sword cultivator had been!
The Lei Dragon realized it had been overly fixated on Zhu Minglang, the despicable human, neglecting other attacks.
Ignoring the pain of its frozen hind legs, it tried to forcibly rise into the golden clouds. However, countless vines and roots suddenly sprouted from its very own resting place, binding up most of its body!
“Clang!!!!!”
The heavenly blade swept through, and even after being released, the Sword Spirit Dragon could still attack on its own, its unleashed power undiminished!
This single sweep nearly cut through the Lei Dragon’s neck, blood gushing from its neck like a crimson stream flowing down the mountain peak.
The subsequent storm of thousands of blades was equally terrifying, not only scraping every precious scale of the Lei Dragon but also nearly flaying its skin completely!
What do you think?
