Chapter 124: Chapter 124: Hoping to Have a Normal Romantic Relationship with Him
Bella Woods was thinking about the exchange student plan when the room door was pushed open from the outside.
Ashton Marshall entered in a dark gray casual outfit, his collar slightly open due to pushing the door, revealing his collarbone and a glimpse of his chest.
Bella Woods looked at him like this, feeling a bit dazed, as if she had lost a part of her memory. He wasn’t the high-and-mighty Third Young Master Marshall yet, just the handsome male prostitute she met by chance.
“Little Bella, were you talking?”
On the phone, Calvin Marshall hadn’t gotten a response from Bella Woods and inquired about the situation.
“I got it, I’ll call you later.”
Bella Woods said briefly and hung up the phone.
Ashton Marshall came in, sat by the bed, and casually put his hands on either side of Bella Woods’ body, asking, “Are you uncomfortable anywhere?”
“I thought you’d ask me who I was calling.” Bella Woods muttered.
Ashton Marshall chuckled softly, reached out to feel Bella Woods’ forehead, and tested the temperature of her cheek, “No fever really, just a bit pale.”
“I’m fine.”
Except for just waking up with a bit of a headache, now she didn’t feel much: “Just a bit hungry.”
“How about you freshen up first and then come out for a meal?”
“Okay.” Bella Woods nodded obediently.
Ashton Marshall stroked her face and kissed her forehead before getting up to leave the room.
Bella Woods sat on the bed, still holding her phone, pondering what Calvin Marshall had said.
The exchange student project at Peace University was the only thing supporting Bella Woods amidst so many happenings because she knew her time here was short; she would leave, and these things would end.
But now they suddenly said the project was on pause, and her study abroad plan was going to fall through, Bella Woods found it a bit hard to accept.
Her mind was a mess.
Bella Woods took a deep breath, replied to Calvin Marshall’s message, and then went to the bathroom to freshen up a bit.
Upon coming out, she saw Ashton Marshall wearing Bluetooth headphones, seemingly discussing work while also serving porridge for Bella Woods.
The ceramic white bowl full of porridge was placed on the seat where Bella Woods usually sat, still steaming.
The man’s voice was low and composed, “If they don’t appreciate, then change the partner, got it?”
“I’m making food for my girlfriend, don’t bother me with this stuff.”
Ashton Marshall removed the Bluetooth earpiece and tossed it onto a nearby table.
Originally filled with impatience, his expression softened significantly upon seeing Bella Woods, and he waved her over, “Come here.”
Bella Woods obediently walked over, and Ashton Marshall helped her pull out the chair for her to sit on.
He leaned slightly and stirred the still-steaming white porridge with a spoon for Bella Woods.
“After a hangover, it’s best not to eat anything too complex. Eat something light first, and I’ll take you for something delicious tonight, okay?” The man’s side glance held a slight smile on his lips.
Meeting those deep, affectionate eyes, Bella Woods’ heart couldn’t help but race, hurriedly lowering her head to grab the spoon, “I can do it myself.”
Her voice was small, like that of a mosquito.
Ashton Marshall rubbed her head, said nothing, and sat on the seat opposite Bella Woods, putting some side dishes for her.
Bella Woods ate obediently.
Unconsciously raising her head, she happened to see Ashton Marshall watching her, making Bella Woods hurriedly lower her head again, shoveling a mouthful of hot porridge into her mouth, instantly scalding herself, and quickly covering her mouth.
Ashton Marshall hastily got up, extending his hand to Bella Woods’ mouth, “Spit it out quickly.”
Bella Woods looked down at his hand, directly swallowing the porridge.
Instantly, the heat seared from her throat to her heart, making Bella Woods furrow her brows tightly.
Ashton Marshall poured her a glass of warm water, his tone helpless, “I told you to spit it out, why swallow it?”
Bella Woods held the warm water, sneaking a glance at Ashton Marshall’s hand, said softly, “Dirty.”
If he were just the handsome male prostitute, she could have spit it out without hesitation.
But he was the Third Young Master Marshall, and Bella Woods dared not.
It always felt quite offensive.
Ashton Marshall just sighed helplessly, silently caressed Bella Woods’ face, and said nothing more.
About the identity transition, it needed time for her to gradually accept.
Bella Woods put down the half-glass of water after drinking it.
“Feeling any better?” Ashton Marshall asked.
“Not much, just…” Bella Woods looked at the half-bowl of white porridge in front of her, “I can’t eat anymore.”
“If you can’t eat, don’t force it, eat later.” Ashton Marshall didn’t push it.
Bella Woods sneaked a glance at him, feeling irresistibly awkward over what happened yesterday.
If she had forgotten everything, facing Ashton Marshall now would just be a bit uneasy, but she remembered everything and made quite a scene.
Now looking at Ashton Marshall just made her feel immensely embarrassed.
Ashton Marshall put down his spoon, looked at her, “Anything you want to say to me?”
Bella Woods opened her mouth, certain words stuck in her throat, and she didn’t know how to start.
“Or, is there anything you want me to do?” Ashton Marshall rephrased.
And this question suddenly hit Bella Woods on the spot, making her recall, she seemed to have mentioned, drunkenly last night, about having Ashton Marshall manage her and Oliver Hughes.
Bella Woods hurriedly clenched her fists, speaking, “That is…last night, I drank a bit too much, then said some nonsense that I only remember a bit, you…”
Bella Woods took a deep breath before saying the final words, “Don’t take it to heart, and don’t take it seriously.”
“How much do you remember about what you said yesterday?” Ashton Marshall raised an eyebrow slightly in question.
Bella Woods pursed her lips, “Just, just some… I can’t recall clearly either, vague, indescribable.”
“Oh, I see.” Ashton Marshall nodded.
Bella Woods sneaked a glance at him, unsure of what Ashton Marshall thought of her words.
And what his attitude was toward what she said yesterday.
Did he take it seriously, or did he think she was just drunkenly rambling?
But no matter what, Bella Woods felt the need to clarify things.
Bella Woods took several nervous deep breaths before saying, “Yeah, it’s just that I talk nonsense after drinking, those words were all over the place, not my real intentions. Don’t take them seriously, and besides, I can’t remember clearly. Let’s just…it happened, okay?”
After finishing, Bella Woods kept watching Ashton Marshall cautiously, extremely nervous inside.
She also feared Ashton Marshall would say something contradicting.
Even to confront her, she wouldn’t have a plan then.
Yesterday’s drunkenness, Bella Woods herself couldn’t distinguish, hoping Ashton Marshall would take care of her, manage her and Oliver Hughes; was it truth or something else.
But whether it was truth or something else, the sober Bella Woods didn’t want Ashton Marshall meddling in her affairs with Oliver Hughes.
She didn’t want things to become unmanageable.
To put it exactly, she didn’t want anyone to know about her connection with Ashton Marshall.
She just wanted to leave, just wanted to leave peacefully, with a selfish little wish for somewhat happy memories with Ashton Marshall before leaving.
Kind of like…
Normal relationship memories.
What do you think?
