Dungeon Overlord: Monster Girl Harem!

Chapter 132: Dark Secrets and the Saintess of Arlet Village

Erina sat on the edge of her bed, behind her, the former assassin Diamond combing through her hair without speaking. At first, Erina couldn't accept tricking the village people into believing Leonhardt's lie, but as the days passed, it became easier.

"Dia, do you think that I am doing something wrong?"

The woman wearing a maid's outfit, her hair no longer silky like a noble's.

She became modest and more polite thanks to Leonhardt's brainwashing. It wasn't that she forgot her past, but he switched her priorities.

Ranked first was Leonhardt and his safety and secrecy.

Then it was the dungeon, and protecting any secrets she saw during her time at Arlet.

Erina's happiness and comfort came third, including protection and other things.

However, her previous priorities like Enzo, and becoming pretty for him or the Last Call, who were like a family to Die, now ranked below her basic training.

"My Lady, you have a kind heart, but don't see the darkness hidden inside people."

Diamond was no longer the same woman as before made Erina's chest tighten.

She understood that her life might be in danger, but she couldn't help but feel for the young woman who became so different. "I see."

"When do you think Leonhardt might return," she asked. Dia spoke with Asuka and Sylvie more often while Erina dealt with the villagers who enjoyed the luxury items from the dungeon for a reduced price.

Those who accepted Leonhardt got them for free.

"There, it's done, my lady." Dia helped Erina to comb and style her hair each night after being left it Arlet, the former priestess, became quite lonely and bored. Soon, Asuka and Sylvie would return, but at least now...

"Thank you, Dia."

"I will take my rest now, my lady."

She missed Leonhardt and arguing with him, and just wanted to hurry and brainwash the entire village. The night was quiet, filled with the sound of insects and the distant clouds of rain over where Leonhard was visiting.

"I should contact Gobbolas, and order more of the dungeons grapes..." If she couldn't meet him in person, she would work harder and make him come to visit her.

Meanwhile, Zafira and Leonhardt sat on the soft, elegant chairs of a nobleman's study, sifting through documents and ledgers, trying to find a connection to Enzo and the mysterious man who wanted them dead.

"You know Leon, I've been hearing a lot about this so called 'hero' but why hasn't such a person appeared to conquer any of the dungeons?" Zafira asked while reading another report.

It was from a noble named Baron Geddon who reported to the owner of the mansion.

"He might not have a need for it."

"Hm, but most people want to make more money, right?"

Leonhardt looked up from the paper he held, his eyes flashing. "I've found something, it's a report from someone called 'Joker,' isn't this it?"

The report was about an individual... named Kaito.

"Wait, the document here..." Zafira lifted her hand, and then handed a folder full of documents that mentioned the name. "Oh, he's the hero?"

Leonhardt took the files. "I'll read this first."

Zafira hummed softly while taking a seat opposite him, her legs crossed so they could face one another.

From the moment they were hiding under the bushes and he touched her. Zafira found her body more sensitive than before as she used her tail to stroke along his thigh, drawing messages against his skin.

"You smell so nice, Leon." She purred with a sweet scent of flowers drifting from her. The table between them was mostly empty except for a few stacks of reports.

"Let's finish work first, Zafira."

His cold voice was like a bowl of cold water over her head as she pouted, smacking his leg with her tail while kicking her legs up onto the table. 'It's so unfair,' Zafira thought. 'I want him to touch me again.'

"It seems that his power is something like mind control, or brainwashing... but it doesn't affect those with a strong belief, desire or mental defence," Leonhardt muttered, his eyes looking at the Marquis under his brainwashing in the corner with his wife.

"So that's why they hated him," he thought back to the girls complaining about the hero's powers and how it made them doubt men. "Does that mean Erina hates me after using something similar? How regretful."

Leonhardt sighed and looked at the Marquis. "Tell me more about Kaito."

Zafira's foot bounced up and down with a soft click of her shoes against the table, while Leonhardt listened to the words of the bumbling fool.

"I-I don't know! The hero was summoned by the king..."

"King Adolf?"

"Y-Yes... he summoned him to deal with the demons, but because of his poor morals and obsession with women and abusing his power, the king has considered another summoning!"

The marquis trembled while dripping with sweat, terrified of Leonhardt, who dominated his mind and soul.

"So why did you nobles order an assassination!?"

His face looked blank, unspeaking. The issue with brainwashing was that the person couldn't lie and wouldn't speak falsely, which meant this noble didn't know about that.

"Have you had contacted with the Last Call?" he asked again in a harsh tone.

He toyed with the noble's mind, learning that the likely orchestrator was the city lord, a distant relative of Adolf, the man who became king... Astrea, once the capital of the kingdom, was now just a protected city.

Zafira was now leaning over his shoulder, her hands over his chest and her breasts flattened against his back as she breathed into his neck. "This is kind of hot..."

To a demon, actions like dominating others, fighting, and, of course, anything that might relate to one of the seven sins were quite appealing. "Hey, can't you pay attention to me again, like outside, like in the carriage?"

"I'll do it later," he shifted his gaze to her and promised with a twitching smile.

Zafira clung tightly to him, refusing to let go for the time being. "Fine, fine... I won't forget, so do you want my help to finish this off?"

Leonhardt knew Zafira was talking about dealing with the noble couple, since they were of no use, but there was one thing he wanted to try first.

"Sure, but just wait a moment."

Leonhardt turned back towards the noble couple and snapped his fingers.

He found their tasteless nature disgusting, and there were plans in the documents he saw that made him angry. A strange anger. The plan to make the saintess candidate a noble whore...

A special role that seemed to be a secret of how the church rose to power in the early days. They would train women with powerful sacred power, able to affect the minds of humans. The church sent these women to various kingdoms.

They used them to seduce and brainwash the nobles and even royalty.

"Take control of them."

She chuckled with a raspy tone before kissing his cheek. The next moment, her finger pointed at the male and female, a pink ball of mist swirling at the tip.

"What should I do with them?" She wondered aloud, while her mind thought of various ways to make them suffer, such as forcing them to kill their friends or family members.

Perhaps she could make those guards rape the man, and make his wife watch...

Her dark thoughts weren't humane and completely twisted.

"You have a grudge against this kingdom right, I read that their family were a part of the attack on the northern lands, your lands."

Her grin widened as the pink mist flowed from her fingertips, wrapping around the nobles' necks like collars and flowing into their ears, nostrils, and mouths.

Zafira then whispered demonic words, which Leonhardt could understand but not the context.

However, not even staying to watch, she grasped Leonhardt's hand and unfurled her wings, a bright glow in her eyes.

"Let's return to the inn, Leon!"

The pair flew through the air together, with her raven feathers fluttering in the cold evening air, although the fresh air of the top platform was clean and not filthy. Leonhardt found that the dirty and mixed air in the slums suited him more.

Leonhardt and Zafira landed inside an empty alleyway, her wings folded behind her back as the two watched from the shadows.

No shadows.

No eyes watching them...

"Shall we head back?"

"Mm... I want to hurry back."

Leon held a dungeon stone, an expensive item that would allow him to teleport to his dungeon when in a place outside his dungeon's range. However, Zafira grabbed his hand with wet and hungry-looking eyes.

"Wait!"

"We're not going to the dungeon?" Leonhardt asked curiously.

"Can we stay in that room, the small and dirty room?"

"Are you sure?"

"Mm," she looked down, avoiding his gaze, sinking her teeth into her lower lip. "The others will disturb us when we return."
