Cedric’s current state was perilous...
To say that he’s quite literally tip-toeing at the fine line between life and death would be an understatement.
The entirety of his being was refusing whatever he’s doing, all signs led him to believe that surviving this was impossible. His very soul was rejecting the void’s influence. Yet his logic tells him that the only way to survive his current predicament is by going through all of this too.
What a conundrum, truly...
As expected, he’s experiencing hell. If he hadn’t been tempered by his life’s experiences, forging his indomitable will, he wouldn’t have lasted this long.
The only thing that kept him going was his desperation to make it out of this alive.
And to his luck, it seems to be working somehow... @@novelbin@@
His physique was already tempered beyond the expected level compared to his actual life evolution level. Cedric built his foundations well, whether its his body, energy, or spirit, he never neglected a single aspect and had always strived to excavate all the potential it has before he makes a breakthrough. It even went to the point where he would delay his progress for the sake of seeking perfection.
Before the void assaulted him out of nowhere, Cedric has already been tempered by the laws of Primordial Chaos; fire, water, metal, wood, earth, time, space, lightning, life, and death.
Though the tempering process went on smoothly to the point that it made him doubt if he’s actually doing this the right way, in truth, it went beyond expectations.
Even though he has yet to reforge his body completely before he was soaked with the Void Tide, his cells already contained sufficient energy to resist and was already in the middle of evolving.
The shackles that had been barring him from elevating his state of being has already been shattered. All he needed to do was to keep this up and he’d eventually get there. Alas, the void interfered.
And yet, it’s with this interference that Cedric found himself arriving at an abstract state of being.
He had enough thought chambers awake to continue his resistance while the majority thought of way to carve a path for his survival. And it’s during this time that he had discovered something within him that he never noticed before.
His consciousness arrived at a place of complete darkness...
At first, he thought that he died. It’s only because of the phantom pains he felt and his connection to his still conscious thought chambers that told him that that’s not the case.
He fumbled in this darkness, wondering how he got here and how to leave because he had other matters to attend to, such as staying alive. Yet no matter he does to wake himself up or to get out of this place, none of them worked.
Then, there was a spark...
He barely noticed it. The spark was too small, so much so that even he, who prides himself for having excellent vision, barely saw it. Yet it’s there.
As he focused on it, he found him arriving near it. But even after coming so close to it, it’s still too tiny. It’s like a single speck of dust resting in between his hands. He wouldn’t even notice it if this place wasn’t this dark.
But with how tiny this thing was, it’s existence felt special. You could even say that it’s as special as Cedric was.
It trembled and shook as the darkness tried to snuff it out. Despite its size and being completely outmatched and surrounding, it stubbornly resisted. It acted as if it wasn’t satisfied with the status quo and thus started to revolt against everything around it.
This stubborness resonated deeply within Cedric. So much so he unknowingly started rooting for it. Their situation was relatively the same, in some sense.
To everybody else, being tainted with this much void, especially during a breakthrough, was already a dead end. There’s no hope. One could only succumb to it. The most they could do is to live for a week or two at most to say their farewells and they’d die without an intact corpse.
Yet similar to how this tiny speck of light resisted the darkness, Cedric wasn’t giving up completely either. Instead of accepting his fate, he instead sought a path to survival amidst the danger. He didn’t care about what others think at this point. To him, living was his priority.
This resonance between Cedric and this tiny speck of light is what led to a miracle.
Inspired by the stubborn resistance of the tiny speck of light, Cedric continued searching for a way to remedy his situation. The more he tried, however, the more disappointed he got, especially since he could tell that there isn’t much time left.
The dire situation caused him to be momentarily stumped, and it returned his consciousness to the dark space he found himself in. To his surprise though, there had been some changes.
The tiny speck of light has now turned into a palm sized orb. This growth stunned him because he didn’t see it coming.
Then, out of nowhere, the orb of light fused with him...
And like bulb lightning up, Cedric’s mind suddenly cleared up, and this illuminated a path towards his survival.
"Ah, I get it now..."

Decay was the first sign of the void’s withering aspect marking the certain death of the infected.
Once the infected showed the first signs of decay, it was too late for them. They only had a week, if not days, to say their goodbyes.
Seeing the signs of decay in Cedric made everybody felt sorry for him. In their minds, his death was already certain. Even if he were to somehow wake up from this, he wouldn’t have long before he draws his last breath.
Hell, it’d be lucky if he even wakes up from this at all, seeing as how quickly the decay was spreading.
It’s a pity to lose someone so talented, especially one that has an All Speak at this level.
But just as they were about to mourn for him and prepare for his funeral, a sudden explosion of an archaic air erupted from Cedric’s body, stunning them all, and most especially, the Chancellors and the Paragons.
The deep and ancient aura swept through the entire camp, startling everybody and making others think that they were under attack once more.
"Is that..."
"No way!"
"How is this possible?"
The Chancellors were stunned, most especially the Wise Dragon Chancellor because he was too familiar with this ancient and archaic air.
"The breath of the Primordial Chaos! But how?" The Wise Dragon couldn’t help but exclaim in disbelief.
There’s no why he’d mistake it for something else. How could he when he’s been trying reach this state since he reached the peak of this realm?
The breath of the Primordial Chaos is an aura that only the Ancients have. The Ancients were beings that have been born since the conception of the Primeval Scarlet Dust Realm, meaning that they were born shortly after the Primordial Chaos appeared and made its existence known.
It was the Ancients that waged war against each other for hegemony over this realm. It was also them who founded the alliance to resist the influence of the void.
The Wise Dragon Chancellor was born during the decline of the Ancients. He had seen the last of them reach the natural end of their lifespan with his own eyes. Through many centuries, the Wise Dragon Chancellor had been searching ways to reach their state, to tap into the depths of his ancestry and reach the same level of strength as they did, yet he just never found a way to do so.
And yet, here comes Cedric. A creature that he barely paid attention to, having the very thing that he’s been searching for since he reached the peak of the realm.
"Ah, I get it now..."
This was the first time they heard him speak since the beginning of this crisis. His voice was hoarsed, understandably so, yet also contained confidence and unwavering.
Then, to their surprise, Cedric’s body began siphoning large amounts of energy. He absorbed the laws of the Primordial Chaos, and more specifically, all the lingering energy of the void that’s within his immediate environment.
Hell, his absorption was like a whale inhaling air. Even the fog of void that lingers all over the camp were seemingly being sucked by him.
To others, this was suicide. But for the current Cedric, it not anymore. Instead, the void has turned into the most potent source of energy that he needed to complete this new path that he carved from himself.
Lights converged around Cedric, turning into a mirage...a vision of a young cosmos that’s full of potential. Everybody saw in real time how Cedric easily refined the harmful void into a stream of usable energy for himself, allowing him to supply birth of the miracle he just created.
"Appear, my Inner World."
What do you think?
