Chapter 509 Analysis and Interview
--
After discussing Roderika's punishment, Cedric was left to his lonesome...
The first thing he did was to see his family in the Virtual Universe. When he was on the verge of being withered by the void, it was the thought of returning to them alive that mostly kept him going. Because while he has already achieved a lot in his life and knows that they'll probably be okay even when he's gone, he personally just doesn't want to die this early.
He didn't have the heart to tell them what happened, for now at least. He didn't want to worry them too much. They're already bearing the weight of separation; he didn't want to add any unnecessary emotional burdens to them. Besides, they already knew that life evolution past his previous level was already dangerous. He didn't need to make it worse.
Now, onto the most important thing...how should he proceed from here? Continue reading at My Virtual Library Empire
As far as he knew, his situation was unique; was his current realm even counted as being in the Transitional Realm?
Because typically, those in this stage don't cultivate an inner world like his. Hell, they most definitely weren't assaulted by the Void during their breakthroughs. So, what was his move?
Sinking in his inner world in his contemplation, Cedric felt somehow at ease. The feeling was brought on by his intimate connection with this metaphysical realm.
His inner world was at its infancy stage. It's completely barren. Aside from the dark golden fog and an untold amount of potential, it has nothing else worth noting for now.
Seeing this state, though, gave him an idea.
'9 miles...' Cedric inwardly judged.
This was the full distance of the realm from end to end. However, there's at least 3 miles of that that was still mixed with the void. Upon careful observation, it seems that on its own, the void was being converted into that dark golden fog that made up most of his Inner World.
Analyzing this, he theorized that this might be an indication of his current cultivation base's stability. Meaning that once the whole nine miles only contained this dark golden fog, his realm would stabilize by itself, and that might allow him to explore more of its potential.
As for what he could do with it, well, aside from mimicking the Primordial Chaos, what else could he realistically do with this?
This was a new territory for him as well, so he could only do his best to explore on his own.
Though, this was a welcomed problem instead of a headache. Because even though he has yet to test his strength, he could already tell that he's way stronger than any ordinary Transitional Realm expert. Hell, he might even be able to compete against those who completed their 3rd Transition. Even if he couldn't win, they wouldn't be able to keep him either.
Another thing to note is that all of his 'normal energies' were gone. Instead, what flowed within him was this dark golden fog that settles in his Inner World after every cycle. And it's also after every finished cycle that the void within his Inner World was refined into more of this dark golden fog.
But even with the disappearance of his normal energies, he felt no real sense of loss. Upon a few little tries, he discovered that he was able to use this dark golden fog just as easily as his normal energy. Actually, it felt way better and easier to use, which surprised him a bit. Moreover, this dark golden fog was incredibly dense. From what little experience he had with it, he assumed that it was at least five times denser than the normal energies he used to possess.
It might even be more considering how his realm hasn't stabilized yet. Additionally, he's technically just in his 1st Transition, if he could still follow the norm somehow, there's eight more transitions for him to experience which will definitely increase the quantity and quality of this dark golden fog.
Cedric might've found himself off the beaten path, but it sure as hell doesn't seem wrong. Whether this was blind luck or fate, he has no idea. All he could do was make the most out of it.
However, that's a matter for the future.
Right now, he just wants to sleep because he is really tired.

Cedric wasn't at all surprised when he was invited by the Paragons for a private interview. He knew that they'd ask questions given that they witnessed the strangeness of his breakthrough.
He wasn't rushed, though, which he greatly appreciated. But of course, he didn't dare to make them wait that long.
Cedric slept for an entire day and woke up refreshed. After a brief scan of himself, he discovered that even in his sleep, his cultivation stabilized by itself. The circulation of the dark golden fog followed the route of his blood. This means that each time his heart beats, it sends out blood with the dark golden fog to circulate all over his body, and whenever it returns to his heart, a cycle is then complete. Then, using his connection to his Inner World, the dark golden fog returns there and then is therefore promoted in quality, but only by a little bit.
His inner world would then send out another wisps of that dark golden fog to his heart to start the cycle a new.
Cedric noted that the rate at which his inner world automatically sends out wisps of that dark golden fog wasn't as regular as his heartbeat. There's roughly a minute between the return of the previous batch and the release of the new ones. Of course, while there is a batch in circulation within his body, the inner world wouldn't send another. It will only do so with Cedric's conscious consent.
This cultivation method was not only unique to Cedric now; it was also quite effortless since it happened passively. Cedric knew that he could take the reins and have this process much faster, but right now, there's no real need to.
Because of this, Cedric was relaxed. He woke up full of energy and clarity. He even feels like he could stay awake for an entire year and still be completely fine. Of course, that's just an exaggeration brought by this new feeling of strength and energy.
After eating a bit, Cedric checked his emails, and as expected, the invitation was there. Since he had nothing to do today and he wanted to get this over with right away, he responded to the invitation and said that they could do the interview today.
A couple of hours later, he found himself in the same room as the Paragons and, most importantly, the Chancellors.
He could feel their probing. Like they're trying to see through him. Normally, this would be considered extremely disrespectful and rude, but since this was a special occasion, Cedric didn't say or do anything to stop it. He had nothing to hide anyway.@@novelbin@@
"Pardon us, Child." The Holy Spirit Chancellor was the one who addressed him first. "We should've delayed this for some more, especially considering what you've gone through, but some of us had been dying for answers. We appreciate you responding positively to this interview immediately. No worries, you'll be compensated for this."
Chancellor Igor barely hid his embarrassment from everybody. What's more important to him was his answers; right now, he doesn't care about what others think of him.
"Well, if you have no objections, I believe we can begin." The Holy Spirit Chancellor stated, "First of all, can you tell us what happened according to your point of view? We'd appreciate it if you could be as clear and detailed as you can, but of course, if there are things that you're not comfortable sharing, you can leave them out to your discretion."
Well, once again, Cedric had nothing to hide, so he began by telling them how he planned for his breakthrough. It isn't really much different from what Roderika and their records compiled, so it checks out. If anything, it gave them a look at how things were from his perspective.
"Alright, now, can you tell us what the experience was like? What happened to you when the Void got to you, and, if you can, tell us how you managed to turn this disaster into a miracle?"
This was the part that concerned everyone; Cedric could tell that much with how they went completely silent, waiting for him to say something. This applies especially to the Wise Dragon Chancellor, and he gives the impression that if Cedric doesn't start talking soon, he'd go up to him and force him to do so.
See, Chancellor Igor saw the possibility. He witnessed everything unfold right before his very eyes, but it was impossible for him to know everything.
He knew why he failed all this time. He learned the reason after watching Cedric complete his breakthrough, but as for the rest of the mysteries behind this miracle? Chancellor Igor was just as ignorant as the rest.
It was only when Cedric began retelling his experience that he completely realized what was needed to attain the goal that he had been yearning for since forever.
What do you think?
