Chapter 260: 260 Everything Goes Smoothly in Linping Secret Realm

Chapter 260: Chapter 260 Everything Goes Smoothly in Linping Secret Realm

Ye Nai thought this was just a street vendor pitching sales and glanced at it only to ignore it, even considered covering her ears to not listen.

But the three people did not care about someone being nearby and just chatted away.

Ye Nai didn’t want to listen but ended up listening, and as she did, her ears perked up.

The salesperson-looking individual turned out to be a small vendor collecting mutant beast meat with limited funds. He only purchased the skins and flesh of wild mice, wild rabbits, wild dogs, wild foxes, and wild wolves, with the buying price progressively increasing in that order of beasts.

She listened for a while and thought the price was okay, mainly because the value of wild mice was really low. They could be found in any secret realm and weren’t rare at all, even wild rabbits were a bit more expensive than wild mice.

The bargaining between the three didn’t last long—a few minutes and the deal was done—the seller with empty hands brought out a large wicker basket, overloaded with unskinned wild mice, the stench of blood still detectable.

The vendor bought the basket and all, paid the money, then put it into his own space, and warmly saw off the two people. He turned around and twist his head, ending up making eye contact with Ye Nai.

“Boss, do you also have some scraps from your space to deal with?”

“Do you have empty baskets? Give me three, the large ones.”

“Yes, yes, yes.”

The vendor happily took out three of the largest wicker baskets from his space and placed them on the ground behind him, the rims reaching as high as the back of his head.

Ye Nai tapped lightly on the rim of each of the three baskets with her hand, and like a magic trick, one was filled with mouse skins, and the other two were filled with skinned and gutted whole mice, tails and all.

“Check them out, this one with males, this one with females.”

The vendor’s eyes lit up, and after sizing up Ye Nai up and down, he smiled with exceptional warmth, more so than after the previous transaction, his face blossomed like a peach.

“Boss, are you getting ready to go hunting? I’ll buy any wild mice, wild rabbits, wild dogs you have, and I’ll pay even better for foxes and wolves.”

“We’ll talk about those later, just quote a price for these first.”

“Of course, of course, let me check.”

The vendor immediately spread a tarpaulin beside the baskets and started checking them one by one, gradually attracting a crowd of onlookers, even soldiers from the garrison came over with arms folded to watch.

After checking the mouse skins and then the mouse meat, the onlookers, who were quite perceptive, were not only amazed that males and females were separated, but they also marveled that the meat was all cleaned.

The vendor used an Energy Detection Needle to test each one, finding no faults at all, and even the feel of the mouse meat was fresh. There was no reason to bargain so he upgraded the category, selling and buying at the Good Grade.

Both parties had no objections to the price, and Ye Nai, being an Awakener, established a trading link and the money was credited to her account in minutes.

The crowd that came for the spectacle found the fresh-looking mouse meat quite novel and began to catch on that this Space Awakened selling mouse meat seemed quite interesting.

However, before they could make a move, a warrior who also watched the commotion stepped forward first to speak.

“Hello, do you have any Rat Teeth?”

“The Rat Teeth from this batch are already sold. Are you also looking for Rat Teeth?”

“Yes, we have a long-term purchase arrangement, and the price is very good.” The warrior, hearing that there was an opportunity, happily pointed to a small guard post down the street, “Right behind that guard post is our purchasing point, we buy everything.”

“Do you want the mouse meat as well?”

“No need for the mouse meat, just the skin, for making cuff borders and patching elbows. It’s quite durable.” Even the warrior made a face of disgust when he mentioned mouse meat, suggesting that its unpalatability was a common trait across Secret Realms.

“Is this durability a characteristic specific to the local wild mouse skins, or is it consistent regardless of the Secret Realm, with all wild mice being like this?”

“The local wild mouse skins definitely have this trait, but I wouldn’t know about the other Secret Realms.”

As he spoke, the warrior even showed Ye Nai the cuffs and elbow patches on his own clothes.

Upon close inspection, she noticed there was a strip of fur that was similar in color to the fabric around the cuffs. The fur wasn’t long, resembling the bottom layer of fluff, while the patch on the elbow was a complete piece of leather, without a single hair, feeling soft to the touch.

“Can it withstand being submerged in water? Can it be washed in a washing machine?”

“It can be washed, even scrubbed with a brush; it’s very durable.”

“Alright, I’ll sell you all I have when I come out.”

“Okay.”

With the deal made, Ye Nai pulled out her motorcycle and sped off. She wasn’t adept at socializing with strangers; rather than making awkward small talk, she preferred to make a quick exit.

Fortunately, the people she left behind didn’t mind. They were all veterans of making a living in the Secret Realms, and they understood social cues. Besides, no one wanted to be pestered or bothered at random times. Moreover, as a Space Awakened with her own skills, she truly had no need to team up with strangers.

Ye Nai rode her motorcycle into the dense forest. At first, she could still see other individuals or caravans traveling alongside her, but after half an hour, she was alone. She then packed up her bike and used Space Teleportation to reach the vicinity of the first altar that the spores had signaled.

She still used the same method from the Sky Smoke Secret Realm, releasing a large number of spores, allowing them to find the altar, and then burrow into the soil to grow into Fungal Mycelium. The Fungal Mycelium would then release more spores, which developed into larger mycelia, gradually penetrating the soil layers and taking the altar with them.

In every new Secret Realm, she couldn’t establish a connection with it until her Space had consumed enough altars, so all she could do was wait.

Ye Nai took out her RV and waited, studying and taking her time in the warmth of her vehicle. Four hours later, five altars had steadily entered her Space.

The experiment was a success.

According to the feedback from the spores and the Fungal Mycelium, the depth at which the altars were buried in this Secret Realm was similar to that in East Ridge and Five Bridges Secret Realms—about six to eight meters beneath the surface. But she thought about the size of her enemies, and realized that this depth wouldn’t pose much of a challenge to them; they could bury and dig them up quickly, which suited battleground needs.

Ye Nai released more spores to find more altars and to hunt. Based on the spores’ feedback, she and her vehicle performed Space Teleportation to a new location. She then took out her outdoor stove; after four hours of studying, it was time for a meal.

After eating, bathing, and washing her clothes, a few hours later, Ye Nai received six more altars and a large haul of game.

Maintaining this pace and after using up a bit of the raw ore in her Space, it took only a week for Ye Nai to establish a connection with the Linping Secret Realm; she could finally return to the East Ridge Secret Realm and sleep well in her Courtyard House.

Another week passed, and the diligent spores worked day and night, leaving the Secret Realm with just one final altar, while also discovering a gold mine rich in reserves.

The spores collected some fragmented raw ores for her. Although described as broken, they were too large to be contained in one hand, hefty and dense, and she found no signs of exploration or mining in the surrounding area.

Beyond the gold mine, she also gathered two Good Grade Energy Ores the size of winter melons, but she could not locate the vein of similar ores; it seemed that these ores sporadically formed, with their discovery relying purely on luck.

Ye Nai was not at all anxious about how to find a stable vein of ore. She fully embraced the method of randomly picking up pieces here and there, much like treasure hunting, which she found quite enjoyable.
