Chapter 25 - Protect Our Host!

Chapter 25: Protect Our Host!

“Zhang Yi awkwardly cleared his throat and said with a strong survival instinct, Female fans? I already have a wife, so I”ll pass on female fans.”

“Hu Ge, Hu Ge, you”ve got plenty of female fans yourself, theoretically speaking, you should be quite popular with the ladies. But why is it that you still haven’t found a partner?” Zhang Yi rubbed his temples, clearly sounding worried about Hu Ge’s personal life.

Just moments ago, Hu Ge had been laughing cheerfully without a care in the world, but now he froze in his place like a statue.

“Can we not touch on this most sensitive topic?” Hu Ge said, utterly defeated.

“Why does it matter to them whether I settle down or not? What, am I eating your family’s rice by staying single?”

Hu Ge was thoroughly frustrated, but everyone else felt a sense of collective balance.

Even though you’re as charming as ever, Hu Ge, you’re still single, just like the rest of us.

Yang Fan smiled and gave Hu Ge a mock-friendly hug before turning to the audience in the livestream, complaining loudly, “From now on, if any viewer dares to make such requests, we’re rejecting them outright.”

“Can’t you see the kind of people surrounding Hu Ge? Aren’t you worried about me getting beaten up?” Yang Fan teased, smiling mischievously.

The audience in the livestream burst into laughter, and the comment section quickly exploded with messages:

“Host Yang Fan is really risking his life to fulfill the audience’s requests!”

“Mango TV, give our Yang Fan an extra drumstick!”

“Oh no, oh no, why am I suddenly becoming a fan of this host?”

“Yang Fan, don’t worry. The two strongest ones here are already married. If they dare touch you, we’ll contact their families directly!”

“Exactly, protect our host!”

“Protect our host!”

“Protect our host!”

“Protect…”

“…”

Yang Fan switched gears, smiling as he asked, “Mr. Zhang Yi, Mr. Jing Boran, you’re both from the Northeast, right?”

“That’s correct,” they answered in unison.

“A viewer has requested to hear you both perform a scene in the Northeastern dialect. Can you indulge us?” Yang Fan grinned, seeking their agreement.

“Sure!” Zhang Yi said.

“No problem!” Jing Boran added.

It wasn’t a difficult request, so the two naturally agreed.

Jing Boran thought for a moment before reciting a line from The Climbers that their characters exchanged.

“Coach, why are you always picking on me?” Jing Boran said in a pitiful tone, delivering the line with an authentic Northeastern accent and nearly laughing at himself.

“I’m not picking on you. I like you!” Zhang Yi replied, barely keeping a straight face.

As soon as they finished their lines, both of them burst into laughter.@@novelbin@@

What’s so funny about it?

No idea.

Then why are you laughing so hard?

No idea either.

It was just one of those moments where they couldn’t stop themselves from laughing.

Northeastern dialect has that kind of charm—it always manages to make people laugh, even if no one knows why.

Their laughter was so infectious that everyone else on the set ended up laughing along with them.

Noticing that the audience might start thinking they were all crazy, Yang Fan quickly stepped in to salvage the situation.

“Mr. Zhang Yi, please stand up!” Yang Fan said.

“Huh?” Zhang Yi looked wary. “What are you up to?”

“I’m not up to anything; it’s the viewers who have a suggestion for you,” Yang Fan said with an innocent smile.

Zhang Yi’s instincts told him that nothing good was coming, but he still stood up obediently.

“What suggestion?” Zhang Yi asked cautiously.

“The viewers suggest that you should stop playing crippled characters in the future. It’s way too convincing! Every time we see you, we genuinely think you have a disability,” Yang Fan said before bursting into laughter himself.

Zhang Yi froze on the spot, unsure how to react.

Wu Jing, on the other hand, enthusiastically applauded.

“Ah, ah, ah! Mr. Zhang Yi really is the king of crippled roles!” Wu Jing teased mercilessly.

“In My Regiment, My Company, you played a cripple. In The Climbers, you were a cripple again. And after filming Operation Red Sea, your leg got even worse!”

“Is there some kind of monopoly on cripple roles? You’ve bagged so many of them that it’s no wonder fans think you’re genuinely disabled.” Wu Jing thought.

Zhang Yi didn”t know whether to laugh or cry. With a helpless look, he said to Wu Jing, “After filming Operation Red Sea

, I was actually limping!”

Wu Jing, grinning ear to ear, patted Zhang Yi”s shoulder. “I just love studying you!”

“Then study away,” Zhang Yi replied with a wry smile.

The two close friends hooked arms and sat back down together like brothers.

Meanwhile, the livestream audience was laughing so hard they couldn”t sit straight.

“I won’t lie. Ever since Hu Ge starred in Nirvana in Fire, I’ve always thought he looked unwell!”

“Hahahahaha! True, every time I see him dressed so lightly, I feel like calling Xiao Feiliu to drape a cape over his Su Gege!”

“Hu Ge: Life is too hard!”

“The one truly struggling is Zhang Yi, though. Can you see that Wu Jing has him locked in his sights?”

“Honestly, I can ‘t figure Zhang Yi out.”

“Of course you can”t! He’s an actor! If an actor is that easy to read, then they’re not much of an actor, are they?”

“Wu Jing and Zhang Yi are like frenemies—constant love-hate banter.”

“Xie Nan Is probably coming over with a knife, muttering curses, and riding a horse to the scene!”

“Hu Ge hubby! Hubby! Look here, look here!”

“You girls need to back off. Hu Ge belongs to us men. Go obsess over your Kun or Lu idols instead.”

“+1!”

“+2!”

“+3!”

“+10086!”

“+ID card number!”

“Thank you, Mr. Wu Jing, for your wonderful sharing,” Yang Fan continued with a smile. “Now, let”s check out some messages from the viewers.”

“Here’s a good one! A viewer asks, “To the cast, the environment you filmed in was so harsh, you must have felt really cold, right?””

Jing Boran nodded. “Be more confident. Remove “right” from that sentence.”

“So, in such a freezing environment, after using the bathroom… would you wash your hands?” Yang Fan asked, his face lighting up with a mischievous grin.

What an excellent question! What a truly excellent question!

Jing Boran froze, looking utterly bewildered. “Where am I? Who am I? What kind of absurd question is this?”
