"I'm not a zombie, baka!"

Frank's sister cried angrily after her brother called her a zombie.

Indeed, she might have looked rather terrible, almost zombie-like, but she wasn't dead or something.

"Hahah, sorry, but what the hell happened to you?"

"Ugh, I just… nothing!"

His sister insisted that she was fine, walking back to the bathroom and washing her face again. Meanwhile, Frank's mother served him breakfast and told him what happened.

"She most likely stayed until late at night playing on her phone again! We will take it away tonight because she can't just keep doing this!"

Frank's sister continued lying, insisting she didn't do any of such things, even though that for her mother, it was as obvious as it could get.

"Kamei, you have to understand that if you keep doing this you won't be completely paying attention in classes, and your grades could go down. What's worse, if you start falling asleep in the middle of the class, you'll get scolded."

"Hmmm…"

Kamei simply groaned as she sat down to eat her breakfast, Frank grew slightly worried about his sister's habits, but he felt he couldn't do much about it.

She would make a huge fit if he were to ever intervene or force her to stop doing such things for her own good. She was a rather spoiled girl that never faced many difficulties in her childhood, unlike her brother.

"Though, the Kamei of my dreams was much better… She was very responsible and hardworking. Although it was mostly because we lost our parents, so she was forced to come to another world with me while running away from danger."

Frank felt slightly sad as he recalled these partial, fragmented memories of his "dreams" or perhaps, of something else, maybe a past life instead.

In there, his family was killed by an assassin hired by the Chaos Gate, and he narrowly managed to save his sister and teleport himself and her towards another world he usually visited, which entrance was now blocked for some reason.

This world was where he obtained his magic initially, and where he met many new friends, it was a medieval world inhabited by several tribes of Beast People, although there were also Dwarves and Elves, the Beast Tribes spread through most of the world.

He had accessed that world through his Farming Game App, which led him to this world, and a farm that he mistakenly believed to be his own, which ended up belonging to a single fox mother and her little daughter.

It was then that his story in that world began, and how it changed him a lot, it became his shelter from this world, which progressively became more dangerous.

But that world was also dangerous on its own, with Monsters roaming the Wilderness, Dungeons, Adventurers, Ancient Evils, and Powerful Gods.

His fragmented memory allowed him to remember a few things, of the people he met there, and even of those he loved. Suddenly, he felt slightly sad, as if he was missing these people.

Despite never having met them in reality, these dreams, or perhaps these strange "past life memories" felt so real.

Especially because he even had children, he had built a big family… And now it was all gone.

"…"

As Frank ate his breakfast while trying to think about something else, he recalled that it wasn't that different from now.

Yeah, about this time, perhaps in a few days, where his family would get assaulted by someone, Wasp.

It happened while he was sleeping, no less, it was just another morning…

In fact, since he began to get these memories or dreams, that he had been fearing every morning that he would find the floor covered in blood.

He had to think of an idea of something that could both protect his family but also not expose them to the Underworld, and all while not ruin their current lives.

But was that even possible? It seemed that the only choices were all sacrifices.

He had to sacrifice something for another.

Life had always been like that for him…

"Frank, dear? Are you alright son?"

However his mother interrupted his train of thoughts, as his mother caressed his hand.

"Are you feeling sick? You've suddenly been staring at the food for a few minutes…"

"A-Ah! I'm fine, was just thinking about the subjects of an exam I have today, nothing else, mom."

"O-Okay then… I hope you studied well?"

"Ah yeah, yeah! Don't worry."

At the end, Frank thought of various plans. He glanced back at his Status Window, and at the System Points he had accumulated.

"With these… I might have enough to create a Protection Array for the House… I am sure the assassin will target everyone together, taking one after another wasn't his style." Frank thought. "But even then, I should make sure they got some sort of protection, if they ever get attacked, I can quickly get notified and go save them."

"I'll go to the bathroom, ouch, I guess I'm a bit nervous…" Frank faked having a bit of stomachache as he ran to the bathroom, where he quickly began spending his System Points and purchasing various items.
